I am thinking that my whole family may not be able to make this cruise due to a small problem in our arrangements. We have had, uh, well, sort of a mix-up and no one is sure where Florida is right now....

So maybe if you can PROIMISE me that you will be on our little boat, I MIGHT be able to convince my wife, daughter, son, Mother, brother, Mother'd friend, and Brother's girlfriend, that i REALLY CAN read a map and make on board.

By the way, if I have to cancel, you're going to have to get my money back for me.

So, I know you all haven't heard from me before, but I was reading posts without responding on purpose. My husband and I are good friends with Stina and Hanncanna. (We actually met on this same cruise 2 years ago, when my husband and I got married in Key West.) We were going to surprise them. They had no idea that we are comig on the cruise (with my mother in-law, 2 sister in-laws, niece and best friend). The plan was to surprise them on the ship and just show up, but since Stina and Hannacanna were thinking about cancelling, we told them the surprise. They are psyched and of course, are now back in for sure. SOOOOO..... the Self Party Posse will be onboard for our reunion cruise and celebration of our anniversary!!! Can't wait!

Just wanted to post and give a shout out to the BEST friends ever! FLTINK and fam totally surprised us today by announcing that they are joining us on this cruise. I hear that they have been keeping this little plan to join the cruise a secret for a while and that *some* of you (you know who you are!) knew about it!

For those of you who don't know, my partner (hannacanna) and I met fltink and her large (and loud!) family on the Magic in Sept. 05 when she and her husband were married on the cruise. fltink and I had DIS chatted a bit before the cruise and then when we met them onboard the first day we were invited to be in their family photo within 30 min. of boarding. It was truly cosmic that we were all meant to meet and we have all been friends ever since. We always joke that it feels like we've always known each other forever when in reality it's only been since '05!

So now, despite my DP's recent employment setback and our upcoming move we are dead set on making this cruise happen! We wouldn't miss it for the world! It will be so much fun to be reunited on the cruise that we all met on.

fltink & fam: We LOVE you guys thank you so much, this means SO much to us right now. We really appreciate it and we're so excited to reunite the Self-Party Posse and enjoy the upcoming cruise with friends old and new!

Thanks to all the DISers for all your prayers and words of support as well. You guys rock! We're gonna have the best cruise ever.

Attention PUB CRAWLERS...!

So what time works for you guys in terms of meeting to do a pub crawl? I'm thinking if we visit 4 or 5 bars and it will take 3 hours.

So I'm thinking a meeting time of 2pm or so at The Rum Barrell which is right near the dock. That would allow us to wrap it up by 5 and those needing to get back to the ship for dinner can. What do y'all think?

I'd like to get an initial count of who's interested in crawling, so post if you are interested.

Well folks, Kevin has to have very serious hernia surgery. Laproscopic is out of the question (as is a quick recovery) because the hole is too big. He (we) will be out of work 4-6 weeks.
We have already cancelled this cruise. Thank GOD we ALWAYS get the insurance, with 4 staterooms and all. We lose $600 in insurance fees for 8 people, but atleast we get our main chunk of money back.
Kevin is so upset that he dissapointed our family. I told him not to worry at all, his health comes first. There will be other cruises.

I am REALLY upset not to be cruising with you all on this one. I was really excited and looking forward to meeting all of you. Of course there will be no meet at SSR, as we will not be there. Maybe someone else can jump in on that one. Thank you all for your kind words and prayers, and please continue to pray for Kevin as he goes through this surgery. I promise to keep you posted as I have updates.

You are still in my prays. Kevin is blessed to have you loving him his health will get better faster .There will be other cruises you can go in together!!! Sorry we will not see you on the cruise but you will be in our prays!

That would be us.....We will probably go out before 2:00 but will catch up with you at the Rum Barrel at that time if that is what is decided. I think we will end up with late dining but depending on our condition, we may not make it to the dining room.

Yes I agree. Eating may be considered optional after pub crawling.

I think anyone can meet up with the pub crawl at any point along the route. I'll hammer out a route and announce a meeting time at The Rum Barrel and then we can proceed around the route and pick up people as we go. If we wear our leis everyone will know who we are!

I ran into a Disney Cruise Line supervisor today. She was out of the office, meeting was purely by chance, purely out of school.

Evidently there were a plethora (this is our word for the trip) of empty cabins available for 'OUR' cruise as well as the 2 cruises following 'OURS". Disney does what they do in situations like this, they opened up the cruise (with a much discounted fair) to the cast members. According to my source, the rooms were snapped up. I am not sure what to make of this. We traveled with cast members on our first Disney cruise, the rate was wonderful, I don't begrudge anyone traveling for the low fair they offered.

My concern is for those of you waiting on an upgrade..... Now that the ship is 'fuller....", there might be less of a chance for that 'sweet upgrade' that we ALL dream about.

On a side note - We have hit the rainy season in Orlando (about time, but wish it wouldn't rain so much each day). I glanced at the pool on the way in, I am going to have drain some of the water tonight, this is the first time all year that I have had to do this.

Are we getting excited yet? Will any of the Pub Crawlers be joinging us for the wine tasting? We have done this each time on the ship, hoping that they will offer the 'upgraded' wine tasting this trip. Dom P anyone?

Where else can a 61 yo women whoop it up doing 140+ MPH. I had a blast doing the Richard Petty Drive Along Experience at WDW.

We had an 11 last time and it was fine. Just like the split bathroom.

Our suitcases are still packed from our cruise 3 weeks ago. Hopefully we won't smell too much.

No wine tasting for us. We aren't wine drinkers.

Getting my DCL fix now watching the Travel Channel.

Anybody know how much transfer are roundtrip between the airport and the ship?

Woo-hoo! TDS Rocks! (Well, the OLD TDS rocked!)

I was just watching the Travel Channel getting my DCL fixx too! Got a look at that giant new movie screen over the pool! I haven't been on the Magic since '05 so I know there have been some upgrades, including new beds and linens!

But I have to say, I was a bit suspicious of the Castaway Ray stingray experience on Castaway Cay. There were people petting the stingrays on TOP of their backs. When we went on the Grand Cayman stingray snorkel they told us never ever pet a stingray on the back because that's where predators attack stingrays and it freaks them out if you touch them on the back. It kind of made me upset that they were teaching people to pet the stingrays on the back.

Just watching the special made me pine for our cruise. I can't wait! I think it's great that there will be lots of off-duty cast members on our cruise, they sure know how to party! I bet they'll be a lot of fun.
