That code may have expired. I did not pay attention to the expiration date. But, just FYI, I always go to Mousesavers.com and check for a promo code before I shop Disney. She always has the current codes posted there. It is a good website for lots of savings on all things Disney.

OK, I'm officially "in"! My deposit cleared the bank, I've got my cabin assignment, I remembered to tell my husband that I booked a cruise (last time I forgot to mention it for quite a while!) and six months from today I will be somewhere on Magic looking out at Port Canaveral!

Now I'll start reading this thread from the beginning, figure out who all of you are, and start planning this vacation!

OK, all of my plans are set (for the moment), and it's not quite the quiet vacation I'd planned!

We'll be arriving at Fort Wilderness on Dec. 1, and tent camping there until Dec. 6. We haven't tent-camped in 27 years, so this should be interesting! My DS, DDIL and DGD will be there with us, but couldn't clear the time to cruise. On Dec. 6, we're moving to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for two nights, and DGD is coming with us. This way mom and dad get a vacation away from her, and we get one with her. Of course, we all live together, so a few nights of privacy for mom and dad will be welcome! We've wanted to stay at the Animal Kingdom Lodge since we first saw it, so this is our anniversary present to each other (of course, so is the cruise, but it's 35 years, so we deserve something). After the cruise, we're heading back to WDW for two nights to ease back into reality. We'll need a vacation after this vacation!

We got our MVMCP tickets in the mail today! YEA! Anyone else going to WDW before the cruise? If so, you are able to make your ADR NOW! I made all our ADR for our WDW trip last week.

We have ADR for:
Chef Mickey - Contemporary
Whispering Canyon Cafe - Wilderness Lodge
Trail's End - Fort Wilderness
50's Prime Time Cafe - MGM

These are ALL new restaurants to us. Have any of you eaten there? Any dining reviews?

Also, we have DS7 and DD4 reserved at the Cub's Den (Child Care at Wilderness Lodge) for a few hours. So, DH and I can have some quiet WDW time. DS1 is pretty "low maintenance" and behaves fairly well in his stroller. It will be at night. So, I am hoping he cooperates and falls asleep like he did last time. On our last WDW trip last year, we put DS7 and DD4 in the Sandcastle Club (Child Care area at Beach Club). They had a blast and didn't want to leave!

I am on the fence about making an ADR for Cinderella's Royal Table. It seems very expensive for not so great food and minimal character interaction. Has anyone on here ever eaten in the Castle? Was it worth it?

I plan to sign DD4 and myself up for Tea with Wendy once onboard. If anyone else on here has a younger girl, you may want to attend too. It is free. You sign up at Guest Services embarkment day.

You'll have to let us know how the Animal Kingdom Lodge is. We may want to stay there for our September 2008 WDW trip. How old is your DGD? DD4 (Emily) will be FIVE cruise time.

Our family is getting really excited about the cruise. Our youngest daughter does not remember our last cruise in 03 and says I don't wanna go....it's just a boat!!! I have looked at pictures of our last trip with her and retold funny stories, she smiles but just does not get the OH MY GOSH we are going feeling. I sure hope she snaps out of it. I keep reminding myself she was in Kindergarten in 03 and is getting ready for 4th grade now....the magic will come back.

TXTaylors5: My DGD is 7, but she won't be cruising with us this time. My son (her dad) works for the Sheriff's department as a 911 dispatcher, and he had a few problems scheduling vacation time for December. As a result, we may have to take another cruise in March! And DGD is home-schooled, so there's no problem with her vacation time!

They'll be staying at Fort Wilderness until the Monday after we leave for the cruise, and Shannan (DGD) will go back to them after her quick stay with us at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Next topic: Has the guest reader list for the Candlelight Processional been released yet? That's a must-do for us this year, and we'll make an ADR based on that, as well as making one for Boma and one for Narcoosee's. There are a few other places that we may consider, but we really don't go to WDW to eat, although that certainly is fun. With cruising the next week, we think maybe I shouldn't eat anything at all. DH gained 12 pounds on our first cruise--and it was only four nights. Once he discovered the ice cream at Scoops, I don't think he was ever without ice cream again for four days!

Tea with Wendy is cute! My son got picked to sit up on the stage with Wendy at her table....she picked two boys to be her brothers.....he was so shy,he couldn't believe Wendy was talking to him... he was only 4(it was Dec 2005), he really loved it!!!!
