I just made reservations for the night of the 15th at Coronado Springs.
We are doing the meal plan as well so i need to make my dining reservations. Its part of the cast member holiday celebration. We get to "try out" the meal plan for a day. Plus its the holiday party that night so Im excited that we dont have to drive home at 2am.

When i ran to Publix i saw Mickey lettuce. I heard Disney was coming out with a line of fruits and veggies, and it was much cuter than i imagined!
We enjoyed Coronado Springs after our last cruise. Any ideas where you want to eat? There are just too many choices!

Mickey lettuce? All we get here in New Jersey is the regular old boring (but delicious) lettuce!

Beth

We got the meal plan for only 20$ per person, so I think anywhere we eat we will come out ahead! I was considering Tempanyaki Edo (I think thats the name) for our table service meal. DF loves hibachi style food and it didnt sound like there was asian style food on the ship.

The mickey lettuce was must iceberg lettuce with a farmer Mickey on the wrapper. It was really cute but we don't eat iceberg so i didnt get it. Yes, Im a lettuce snob!

Im considering getting a couples spa service as a suprise for DF. Has anyone seen the spa villas or had a cabana massage? There are so many options but im sure they are all nice.

If Jim sees a snake, you'll hear him screaming all the way up there in Illinois!

Beth

DH & DS went to rent a golf cart when I saw the snake. DD and I spent the time sitting on top of the picnic table while we waited for them to return. Never saw snake again but did not take any shortcuts to the bathroom.

OK, I'm here, trying to resolve every last minute problem. I'm alone in the office. Why am I alone in the office?

The very nice Jewish man who works with me is uptown decorating the Christmas tree. My boss, who is a non-denominational Christian minister, is in another location setting up the Menorah.

Me? I'm trying to finish a long proposal and looking at my Disney pictures scrolling by on my second computer!

I've actually heard better reviews about the services on board over those in the cabana massages. One review I heard of was that there were people sitting outside on of the cabanas talking about work while the person was trying to have a "relaxing massage". And they weren't even in the party with the person having the massage. Can you imagine having to listen about a complete stranger's work while on vacation??? :scared1:

Looking at the prices, maybe we will just have to stick to the exotic rasul. I would rather go to the art auction.

I've heard that the champagne is free at the art auction! That's the only reason Jim and I may attend!

Im loving the free champagne, but i went to buy a painting yesterday and everything i liked was sold out at the 3 differant art stores i went to. I figured i should wait for the auction anyways.

We arrive in Florida on Dec 7, at 10:00am. Good ole TED moved our flight up from leaving Chicago at 8:00am to 6:30am! I hate getting up at 3:00 am even to go on vacation. We are staying at the airport Hyatt. Hopefully it will be warm and sunny and we can relax at the pool all day.
Who else is staying at the Hyatt that night?

We are - but will be getting there after midnight - we will be at Epcot doing CP and then EMH (we are staying on property Wed. and Thurs. night) we will wake up early enough to stick the suitcases outside the door but then take our time getting to port. We are taking Disney transport.

We had more fun doing the rausal than the couples villa (and much cheaper) - we had people watching us both from other decks and other villas during our 2 hours in the couples villa on the ship.

The lanyards are HERE! They are so cool! I will now start dividing them up and making the inserts for those who asked for the kids.

Yes, I noticed the weather looks good for the launch! :cool1:

oooohhh just noticed my Ticker for September went down to 9 months  I need to pack ;)

I thought I'd pick your brains a little. I do have some ideas but.... My friend, her hubby & their almost 3 year old daughter would like me to make reservations for them for Meals and things at Disney World for January. Any suggestions?

I said definately the Princess Breakfast in Epcot as a Must Do for their daughter.. For her Mommy's surprise party in October, she changed 5 times into various Princess Dresses.. She was the little mermaid with the red hair no wig needed picture I posted a little ways back :cutie:

We did the princess lunch at Epcot and it was nice, our first visit with the princesses and there were lots. Food is definitely--meh. We were seated in a really boring part of the room, it wasn't til we were leaving that I saw there was a lovely high-ceiling'd "castley" part. The meal would've seemed more memorable there, but dd loved it. (So did ds, 5 at the time. The princesses still make him :lovestruc:) We've done the castle lunch twice now, and though it's harder to get and more expensive, I liked it proportionately better. I won't bother with Norway again, but I'd do the castle again. I'm still hoping to get a cancellation for 1900 Park Faire dinner for NEXT WEEK. :hyper: Dd was almost 4 when we did BBB and she LOVED it. We just did the cheapest "coach" package, which was more than enough. When they first started doing it, some of the little girls were coming out inappropriately--tart-ish--IMO, but when they did dd I asked for a light hand, and they did a super job. princess: Of course dd loved Fantasyland, the carousel is a favourite for the two of us. The Pooh playground was great, and all that Mickey's/Minnie's house stuff off in--is it Toontown? Plus Goofy's Coaster--cute, but too short for the amount of time we had to wait. After that though she was willing to try Thunder Mtn, which we all liked. I was surprised by how much she DIDN'T like some of the dark rides--Buzz Lightyear was seriously traumatizing and she wouldn't go back on our second trip. She also really loved all the characters, we spent a lot of time meeting them and they were always charming. Is Character Connection still open at Epcot? It was a lovely low-key place. Fireworks and parades--she was really too little, the parade at AK was the best, lots of characters high-fiving, not too much of the agressive crowds or big imposing floats. We did some of the water rides in Jan also, she LOVED Kali at AK, I thought she'd be scared. The lack of crowds was worth the cold days.

We have also used Freecycle.com.

Camping--only in an RV! Dh took the kids to a local provincial park last summer. I stayed for supper and the marshmallow roast, then I drove home to a real bed. :rolleyes1

We decided we're leaving next Tuesday after work. We fly out of Manchester NH at 6:30 am on Thursday the 6th, and Manchester is about 10 or 11 hrs' drive from here. So we'll just get out of the house and drive a couple of hours after work on Tues then drive all day Wed and overnight in NH. Flying SW from Manchester cost about $500 for all 4 of us, vs about $700 pp from the local airport. So, we should be in Orlando by about 10 am on Thursday, lots of time to get to Cape Canaveral even if there's a delay.

Homework time. Not having too much trouble catching up lately, though! Yep, too much "real" work to do, like packing! (Not the kind that merely gets one paid and keeps the health inspector from the home! ;) )

well others talk to themselves so I may be doing the same thing right now but I just keep thinking of things.

Hubby comes home on Monday from Iraq - and so far I have done this week:

put up 1/2 outside decorations - working on the other half before Friday as we are in a lighting contest this weekend

had MIL over for her birthday Monday night

taken son to have 3 teeth pulled this morning at the oral surgeon

working on printing programs for the Holiday Home Tour in our historic neighborhood

purchased Shuttle tickets

went to a play last night

went to a 4-h contest before the play

before that we went and purchased snorkling items - then came home and ordered them online for cheaper - now to take back the others to the store :)

before that we went and purchased black and silver vest sets with bow tie and regular tie for hubby and DS (he is wearing a small in mens - and it is a little big but will work) so they match :)

have 4 trees up in our living room - mantle partly decorated

had a piece of furniture delivered that belonged to my great-grandparents that I had refinished - so I had to move stuff around in the dining room to make room for it - now I need to fill it up with stuff :)

Oh and I am sick - and need to go to dr. to get something for it - been sick since Thanksgiving.

Now what do I still need to do???:scared1:

Krisann, you need to slow down and take care of yourself! Get some meds and take a nap.:goodvibes

OK, Jim just called with a question--most unusual, since he isn't supposed to make outgoing calls from work!

When you rent a tux from Cruiseline Formals are the ties pre-tied? And if not, does anyone here have a clue how to tie one? The last time he wore a tux was in 1975, and the groom in that wedding tied his tie for him! I told him I could tie it in a big clown bow, but he didn't really seem too impressed.;)

Beth

We have 2 cats. I really want a ferret, but in our 700 sq foot appartment thats all we are allowed to have. Plus it might turn into a zoo here!

You sound like my DD. Her small house IS a zoo. She has the coolest ferret. It is so affectionate and loves her kids. It takes everyone's shoes and hides them. She is always late because she can't find shoes. She has found shoes and the ferret itself in some of the strangest places.:rotfl: She also has a dog, three cats, two gecko's, hermit crabs, and a salt water aquarium.:scared1: I don't know what she is going to do when her kids start bringing animals home.:confused3 She just loves animals. She is a dog groomer at Petco. Not the best place for an animal lover to work! She falls in love with every animal that needs a home.

Wow... that's a good question. I'd assume they would come pre-tied. They have to know that not everyone who cruises does 14 black tie events a year and knows how to tie one. :lmao:

I got this from their website though. They'd probably be able to tell you for sure.

Haven't had a chance to get caught up - been away too many days :rolleyes1

We went to the Very Merry Party last night - it was a quick trip. Left around 1:30 yesterday and got home at 11:30a this morning. The castle was beautiful all lit up. The crowds were not bad at all. Unfortunately it rained and we did not have much fun. The air was so heavy with rain and clouds that you couldn't even see many of the fireworks as they got hidden by the smoke from the first few :sad2: Youngest DS is a bit under the weather and then got soaked watching the fireworks. He was freezing as the wind really picked up. So we left early (around 10) instead of staying until midnight.

Oh, well. At least we got a bit of a Disney "fix" before the cruise and I was able to finish my Christmas shopping for my sister's family :woohoo: It was also nice to hear all the Christmas music :santa: Even in icky weather, Disney is still magical :thumbsup2

I'm really starting to feel ill-prepared for this trip. Like many of us, my normal life is keeping me plenty busy and I'm having a hard time adding cruise prep on top of everything else. Calgon! Take me away! :rotfl2:

We did the Cabanas first trip. There was some noise. Also, it takes away from our time at CC so we have not done that again. We toured the Villas and they looked WOW, but a whole boat load of money!

We had more fun doing the rausal than the couples villa (and much cheaper) - we had people watching us both from other decks and other villas during our 2 hours in the couples villa on the ship.

This just seems terribly WRONG!! :sad2:

Yes, the ties are pre-tied :thumbsup2

I really need to start thinking about :laundy: tonight so that I can start packing! I was so busy getting the camping stuff organized that the rest of the stuff hasn't gotten done.

Yes, the ties are pre-tied :thumbsup2
Thanks! I guess this means no "clown bow tie" for Jim!
