Honestly, what does alligator taste like? People joke it tastes like chicken. But, is it true?

- Jennifer

What we had was actually fairly bad, we bought an order of "nuggets" at the canteen. They were reeeeeeally chewy and rubbery, like really bad calimari, but more grainy like halibut or something...and we did tell the kids they were chicken nuggets and they didn't know the difference until we revealed the awful truth. :scared1: They never would've eaten it if we'd told them, but they were puffed up like little peacocks afterwards when they realized "we bit the alligator, it didn't bite us!" :rotfl: I don't really remember what it tasted like, just the texture. :confused3 I'd try it again, I'm open to game, and I don't think that sample was representative.

I'm betting it's all a croc!

;)

:lmao:

Actually, if you mean those rubber shoes...you're pretty close to what we ate!

Ok, it's quarter to 10 here, I'm off to finish the dishes and I've got to wrap some "Santa" tonight. I can't MOVE in my closet for "Littlest Pet Shop" and I need to get the swag safely covered and into the basement...

Have a great evening everyone!

Sorry that a bad pun was my first post in a few days but other things have been getting in the way of DISing lately. :confused3 Wow, there are WAY too many pages to try and catch up and if I tried I might miss the boat. I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and I cannot wait to get to the House of the Mouse! :cool1:

I hear ya. Those moments are few and far between. I have the new job thing going on but I cannot even imagine all the prep you are going through for the wedding and cruise. You know what though, it will all be worth it in the end. :thumbsup2

When we arrived in Sydney this past Spring, we went to the shuttle stop that goes into downtown and drops off people at various hotels. These guys are private, so of course they try to shove in as many people as possible. So he shoved in as many people as possible, and then started loading the luggage. The luggage all went behind the back seat in this van and had a wire "cage" about halfway up. Well, this driver shoved and shoved and shoved to get all that luggage in and it was all the way to the top and looking pretty precarious.

So this one guy in the back speaks up and says "I'm not going anywhere with this luggage like this. What if you have to slam on brakes? This is going to come flying forward and break my neck." I thought he had a pretty good point. Well, the driver was having none of it. They almost got into a knock-down-drag-out over this luggage. Finally, the couple who's luggage it was agreed to sit in front of the luggage and the guy with the objections and his wife moved to the front...where they both sat in a seat-and-a-half.

But yeah... I wouldn't have wanted to sit in front of that luggage either. Especially not after I saw how the guy was driving too. :scared1:

The guy was so right to move. Last year DB was in a bad accident on 285 in Atlanta. He was driving a panel van with a heavy duty steel cage. Everything in the back shifted forward and pinned him to the steering wheel. Luckly the airbag had gone off, unluckly he was pinned to the wheel and got a third degree burn on his face. He had a fresh burn and broken colar bone for last year's cruise, this year he has a scare on his face.

His story is topped by the fact someone asked him if he was ok. He said no I am pinned. Then he heard them in the back of the van. He thought they were moving things out of the way to save him. Remember he is getting that 3rd degree burn on his face. The guy was robbing him blind. He stole all his power tools by the time the cops got there and got him out of the van.

We are lucky to have him and I now drive the closest thing to one of those heavy old school buses on the road. I believe if my DB had not been in a vehicle with such a heavy frame he would not have made it through the accident.

For myself, driving an SUV, I can not even go to the grocery store now without securing my shopping bags. No UFOs for me.

Thanks, I will sure be glad for this vacation. As Im sure we all are!

Hi I was invited to post over here. My family 5,8,and 1 year old from Minneapolis will be cruising along with mother and father inlaw from Green Valley AZ.

I went to DL once.. We went through John Wayne Airport though and not LAX

We did too. While waiting for our plane home, we saw Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin filming a movie. The movie was a remake of an old movie I can't remember the name of. Maybe I will think of it later.

Does anyone know of a grocery store near WDW? If not, I may google it or just wing it and hope our navigator points us in the right direction.

Publix on 192 near Celebration, it is on the north side of 192 behind Logan's Roadhouse. It is the corner of 192 and South International Drive. If you go out on Osceloa, turn right at Gaylord Palms and soon as you cross under the tollway make a left into Publix parking lot.

Tomorow i am going to downtown disney and MGM with my mom. We are going holiday shopping and i need to pick up my bridal ears!:bride:
I probably wont take them off the whole cruise!

Will your DF wear the Top Hat with Ears? ;)

Mmmmmm! Waffle House cheese omlette. Yes, we use to go there pre-kids. But, have gone maybe once since DS7 has been born. I didn't like all the smoke in there for the baby. Unless it has changed, we won't be back for awhile.

I used to love the Waffle House too. My kids won't eat at them because they don't think they are clean enough. My mom was a health inspector for years and taught the kids all the tricks. Eating out is no fun now with our Jr. health inspectors.

I took a food service sanitation class in college. It really ruins dining out.
