We have a very big walkable attic.. Part of it is for storage.. the Rest is for Pins.. :rotfl2: Ok and a TV, PS2 etc etc

I would LOVE to find some way to display them nicely and hang them on the walls.. I mean we have 2 houses worth of walls :rolleyes1

Shadow Box Frames.... :)

Now that everyone knows I have blindingly-pasty skin, I have a related question--does every WOMAN (I will not say everyONE b/c some smart-a$$ will start talking about cross-dressing ;) ) wear hose? I have a long dress for formal night with open-toed sandals, and I'd really love not to wear panty hose. Same for my below-the-knee and knee-length dressy dresses... :confused3

And in general, no shorts at dinner? Not even the first night? I don't do capris, they look awful on me; I do have a couple of pairs of bermuda-ish ones that are within a couple of inches of capris, just not "in spirit". Kids too? Ds' shorts are all nice khaki sorts, not knit "gym" shorts.

I know we can always go to Topsiders or one of the quick-service places, and we may if there's no "special" reason to get dressed up. It just sounds like work, to make sure everyone's changed by 5:30 or so, when the sun's still out and it's the Caribbean...

Women still wear pantyhose? I don't notice that much here in FL. Too hot and sticky! I'm sure those that do more formal dining, dinner parties and such probably do wear them - I don't find a need to, and the guy at McDonald's doesn't seem to notice :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Good Night Julie. Nice to see you getting to bed at a decent hour young lady!
:rotfl:

The bad people are making me work this week. :sad1: ;)

I probably won't wear hose since I'll probably be in something floor length. I'm going with the Caribbean dress code here (which I just made up) which is no hose in the tropics. But yeah, I just get too warm when I wear them. And, I figure, if I'm in a floor length dress, who's gonna see anyway? :confused3

We don't do shorts at dinner. I think Disney looks the other way on the first night because some people may not have gotten their luggage yet, but in general, they ask for no shorts. And, fair warning, there might be people on the cruise that feel so strongly about this that they won't hesitate to give people wearing shorts disapproving looks in the dining room. If you ever read a thread on the subject over on the main board, some people can get downright vehemenant about their opinions on this. Some of the stories are funny though... I remember one about a guy who showed up in one of those sleeveless undershirt things with the rest of his family in cut-offs. And there's always quite a few stories about women who go a bit too far in letting the girls have.... well, a girls' night out. :lmao:

I plan on taking some Clorox wipes and swabbing down the worst offenders... the tv remote, the door handles, the faucets, the light switches, etc. I've also found a small disenfectant spray that's basically alcohol that can be sprayed on the shower floor, etc. Lysol now makes a 1oz travel size disenfectant, but I haven't been able to find it for sale anywhere yet. It's relatively new. I'm not so much a "clean freak" as a "germ freak." I live in happy clutter. But it's germ-free happy clutter. :rotfl:

That being said... I was thinking the other day... I know the cabin stewards come in and clean up each night, wipe down the sinks, etc. But do you think they use a clean rag for each cabin? Cause the thought of them using the same rag they wiped someone else's cabin down with... :crazy2:

Staples has the 1oz lysol. At least mine did..we still ahve some left..it was for the Back To School sales. You should call and check!!

Appetizer - :thumbsup2

General Tso Chicken - :crazy2:

Oh well...I guess 50% isn't too bad. :confused3

Sorry you had bad Chinese...ours was good. The only problem was they forgot the GTC!! They had to make another trip to bring it. Thankfully it made it here a few minutes before DH did!!

Well, I have about 10 more pages to catch up on, but will have to do it later. I have some paperwork to finsih, and a lunch appt. Have fun everyone!!

So what kind of tempature do they have it in the Dining Room? I just know my DH is very hot natured and if he's wearing a suit hope they have it cool.

Ooh.. thanks! There's two of them not too far from my house. I'll be sure to check them! The one I have is kinda generic... at least it looks kinda generic and I've never seen the name before. I figure how complicated could compressed alcohol be? But I'd still like going with something I know. Which is odd, cause I'm usually fine with generic things. It's my germ-phobia taking over again.

I've never been overly cool or overly hot in the dining rooms. But I'm kinda hot natured too, so it might be that they tend to be on the cooler side and I just don't notice. :rolleyes1 The theater gets a little cool sometimes. But as soon as I step out onto the deck, I usually get warm. Especially if there's the slightest bit of humidity.

Dining rooms are generally not hot. Lots of folks recommend bringing a sweater because they find the dining rooms cold. :confused3 I find them perfect comfortable temperature.

Yeah! That's what I was trying to say! :flower1:

How sweet! :cutie: Our children and grandchildren have always LOVED getting all dressed up. When DGS was 3 we took the whole family on a 4 day cruise. This little on LOVED his shiny black dress shoes so much that he wore them everywhere. One of my favorite photos of him is by the Mickey Pool in his bathing suit with his shiny black dress shoes and black socks!

That is so cute! Ds always wanted to wear a tie when he was younger, we have a well-developed sense of occasion in this family!

Can you participate if you'd just like to vote but aren't creative enough to decorate? Or is that what you're asking? Who's actually gonna decorate?

Creative? I didn't say ANYTHING about creative! I'm just sticking on magnets...and participating b/c herself will want to! princess:

I second that...I do have a couple of shorter dresses, but OMG! I just can't...the more I think about it. I will dig out my tan-in-a-can though.

I have to go through our closets...not a lot of occasion for dressy-casual in the summer...I have seen some heated discussions, so will keep out of the line of fire as best we can. :duck: I know the kids will want some room service, and sometimes a quick bite at the buffet may be necessarily low-key...

THanks for all the feedback, ladies!!

All this week, I've felt like my brain has gone on vacation 3 weeks early and without me. The latest development is that I find myself in situations where I'm looking right at a person, listening to what they're saying, but not hearing a word being said. It's like I can't process the words as they're being spoken. Now, what's odd is that it's only happening when I'm listening to people with any kind of accent. Which, in LA, is quite a few people. I had a lot of trouble when I first moved here, but I've gotten much, much better over the last few years at applying various accents to words and knowing what's being said. But it's totally turned off this week. I haven't even had aspartame so I can't blame my brain fog on that. :confused3

Does that ever happen to anyone else? Maybe I'm just getting old. :scared1:

Oh, Julie, it's just too much on your brain, sweetie! And it's all MORE INTERESTING/IMPORTANT than whatever's going on in front of you. You think you can tune out now?? Just wait til you run out of reasons and have a 3,4, 5, or 6 yo in front of you extolling the minute virtues of...whatever... ;)

This happens to me when I am stressed. I will ask someone a question over and over again and never hear the answer. Of course, I am old, too!

ETA: Actually, I look forward to that. From conversations I've had with my nephews, I've kinda figured out that nothing really puts life in perspective like hearing the perspective of a 5 year old. :goodvibes

Our door will just have magnests too.... It is just suppose to be something fun to do...:goodvibes

I will not be wearing hose....:thumbsup2

When I asked about the shorts I was told pretty harshly that my kids are no exception to the rule and that they have to have dress pants...since DCL said that jeans are acceptable I thought they could wear those but was told other wise.... Since some people can be down right nasty I decided not to put my children in that situation so I went out and bought them 3 pairs of slacks.

Jeans are acceptable. DH and I wear them often.:goodvibes

This goes back to when the DCL website said "No short, tank tops, or jeans." They've since removed the "or jeans" in the last couple years and some people just haven't gotten past it. :lmao: I just don't get why people have to be nasty about things like that though. I mean... seriously... giving a small child dirty looks for wearing shorts? That's just so wrong. :sad1:

I am Home from work!! :thumbsup2 Only stayed an ecxtra half hour today :cool1: We were kinda slow today which was a nice change of pace..

I did meet Mr. Big Wig.. and he was very nice and according to the "ease dropped" conversation I heard my Manager was having after Mr. Big Wig left.. He apparently was Not happy Mr. Big Wig stopped him several times in mid-sentence.. Hmm which is EXACTLY what my Manger does to us.. :confused3

Anyhow, I did find out the my Manager is going to be going through a Divorce so his Personal life is dumping into his Professional life.. and as much as I feel bad for him, he can't bring it to work, and expect the rest of us to suffer with him..

OK, so I will be going back over about 4 pages.. Thank You for making it easy on me to catch up.. :thumbsup2
