Jason good for you. I really, really hate it when they make up "rules" that are only for people who don't push back...I'm glad you did, and got it straightened out. I feel badly for the people who don't have the confidence or skills to refuse to accept that sort of thing, and while the squeaky wheel gets the grease, the more squeaky wheels there are, the harder it should be for organizations to get away with that kind of thoughtlessness.

Yes he has left Iraq yesterday and is on the long journey home - we have not seen him since September and he has not been HOME to our house since March of this year.

Good morning dis friends. Today brings another change. We now leave a day earlier. DH worked so much this weekend on call that we decided to extend our 40th anniversary trip by one more day. DH needs to get away.

I can't imagine a time when starting a vacation a day early could be a bad thing. If I can just get through today and tomorrow, then I have Wednesday and Thursday set aside specifically for "cruise preparedness."

I just spent about 15 minutes with Midwest Airlines fixing out seating.

I hate stuff like that. I get so annoyed with having to spend valuable time fixing someone else's foul up. Probably too annoyed.

Unfortunately, the skirt was a no-go. I got it to the point to where I could try it on and see if I was going to be happy with it...and I wasn't.

I think I'm set though... I went through the back of the closet and figured out something I could wear. If I happen to get shopping this week, I could look for something new, but I'm not going to stress over it too much.

DW has a MRI on her knee tonight. She has had some pain in it for awhile now. Whatever they say though we are still going on vacation

It is GVA (Georgia Virtual Academy). It is a new virtual public school in GA. The curriculum is wonderful but GVA doesn't produce any of the program. GVA sends us the materials produced by K12. Then we have an assigned teacher who basically lets me know if I logged attendance properly and sends a newsletter once a week. The newletter is never right and this week the teacher forgot to include that there is an online school meeting later this week.

It is basically a gummed up government mess. I do like the free materials.

I get it - we have something like that down here. You're really not homeschooling - you're child is still part of the system, they just don't have to go to a physical school, right? It seems to work great for some families, and you can't beat the price

We tried a class through Florida Virtual School last year with my oldest. I was amazed at how unorganized it was and how many mistakes there were. It was a computer class, yet they seemed very behind in their knowledge of technology Go figure! We ended up dropping the class - we've always homeschooled choosing our own curriculum, doing things our own way, and that class had too many hoops to jump through just to "learn" things like Word, Power Point, etc.

It worked better when I just had him use those tools as part of his school work. He kind of learned as he used them and we also found some good tutorials online that he could refer to when he ran into something he couldn't figure out.

Same here! We do have the suitcases out - but I need to make room to open them all up so we can start packing.

I went grocery shopping today *finally*

DS has plenty of Food to hold him over til we get back

I spent $145 and when I looked at the items I bought.. It was all Junk Chicken Nuggets, French Fries, Pizza Rolls, Pasta Bowls and snacks for lunch..

I am sure my Mother will be asking him to go to dinner with her, she always does.. She still thinks he can't fend for himself for a week.. I think she forgets he has a car, a job, and plenty of money to go out to dinner and friends to go with him..

That is too funny!!! Tina and I were running into the SAME problem!! We've decided to tape one and watch the other on the road down to WDW on our dvd player. I haven't decided if we're going to watch our weekly shows and tape Tin Man, or vice versa!

Well last night if you missed the 1st showing of Tin Man it was on again, directly after it..

Aww I'm sorry your DW is having knee pain.. I had to have surgery for a torn maniscus (sp) muscle.. It went under my knee cap

We have to pack Friday night when we get to our house.. All our cruise clothes are ready and hanging in the closet in bunches of what gets worn with what

We will be stopping at Publix to get a case of water to bring with us so we don't have a Repeat of the September cruise

I am starting to Panic, not like we have a ton to do, but as the days count down I am being obsessed with making sure everything is Perfect
