My mom was "Mom" to a lot of kids too, and she really helped some of our friends with screwed-up families. Glad he's got somewhere to go, even if he still has to go "home". :flower3: Good for you. Maybe his mom's meds will help...

I've always been "mom" to DS's friends.. When conversations with the girls got too involved.. I had to tell them, they need to ask their Real mom and when they were older they'd understand why..

Kohl's is having another Sale.. Bigger then the Last one.. This Saturday.. I am off of work so you'll know where to find me !! :woohoo: I think it is a Pre Black Friday sale.. Only so many hours :hourglass

I've got a 15% coupon for friends and family for this weekend.... want to come to the Marlboro Kohls?? :)

If ALL of you GTY 12's make us in an 8 get a upgrade.. I'm buying you all a Drink.. or Something... :thumbsup2

I'm hoping DCL has more 12's booked then rooms :goodvibes

I feel like a little detective! i was debating paying for an upgrade if the rates were still good, and i saw that my 599$ room is up to 999$, maybe this means they sold out? it never hurts to speculate haha

Well I never heard anything until 3 years later, when I got a bench warrent for my arrest at my former address. I was like what??? I went to the court, explained that I never got a notice to return, and they gave me a letter to carry with me in case I get stopped.

Woah! That would totally freak me out. And it was my understanding that if the "arresting" officer (ok, I can't think of the right term--the one who actually gave you the ticket) didn't show, you were home free. Also told they often don't show, as so many people who say they'll contest never bother... But wait, we live in two different countries! Maybe we have different laws? I'm watching too much "Law and Order"!

I was also given a new court date.

Went back to court (now last time I had witnesses, my carpoolers, with me. I was now at another job and didn't have them anymore), and started explaining about 3 years ago, and the judge stopped me. He asked me when I received the ticket, and I told him, he then looked at the public defender in the courtroom and said isn't there a statue of limitations on traffic fines?? They both laughed, and I just stood there an smiled. The nasty prosecutor, didn't want to drop it. She wanted something, so I pleaded guilty to a 20.00 parking fine or something like that. SOmething that had no points, and I siad yes just to get out of the courtroom and end it!!!

High five for you too!! :woohoo:

The local farm stand is advertising Honeycrisps; are they good? I like galas, if that's a comparison point.

They are very good! A bit sweet (honey) and a bit tart, juicy and crisp. The best apple I have found both for eating and expecially for pies. I like galas also. I think you should try one. The farm stand will probably cut you a slice to try.

I'll join the game!

Favorite new show: kinda new, 30 Rock
Favorite old show still on: Simpsons, The Office, Curb your Enthusiasm
Favorite shows no longer on:sad1: :Seinfeld, Sex and the City, Six Feet Under

I wish we could ALL do this once a year,QUOTE]

Me too! We should definitely talk when the 2009 itineraries come out. :thumbsup2

Wendy is going to Hate us.. She has a Novel to catch up on.. :thumbsup2

Took me FORever to get caught up, but I still love ya! :grouphug:

I'm feeling very virtuous, having just gotten off the elliptical. ::

Good for you!!:cheer2:

Hi Wendy!! How is Jasmine feeling?

Much better, thanks! Today was the first of many days off in November. They are out of school today, next Thursday and Friday, the following Monday, then I think that Thursday and Friday also, and then of course the next week is Thanksgiving....

I thought dd had missed ds' bug, but she's on the couch cuddled up now, with a fever. :sad1: Between that, the storm, and catch-up with Daddy, it's going to be a quiet, stay-at-home weekend I think.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I hope your little princess feels better soon! princess:

I was curious, and excited, but, How does the Wedding and Palo work? Have you found out details yet? Times and Places? :confused3

Do you have the Wedding and then go to Palo right afterwards for a reception diner or something?

Sorry if I am being too Nosey.. but I was really curious because I was thinking about doing a Vow Renewal one of these trips and I'm sure it works kinda the same way.. Now all I need is DH to agree :sad2:

It's okay to be nosey:) The wedding is around 430 i believe and our Palo res is at 9:00, although the wedding coordinator told me she could get us in to any Palo spot we wanted (so im guessing this is our only chance to do the high tea?)
They gave us the choice of Aft deck 7 (I think?) or one of the lounges, we went with outside. Im not sure how all of this will work seeing as we are pretty much eloping (our families know about it, they are just celebrating with us in Feb. so i can have my disney wedding:love: )

And i looked on travelocity and they are officially not booking Cat 12's anymore...whatever this could mean for upgrades :crosses fingers!:

I have a ticket story too. I was commuting from Jersey City to Brooklyn, we would drive though Bayonne to SI to Bklyn. There was a stretch of road that was a known speed trap. I had 3 carpoolers in my car with me and we were stopped. We were all suprised, since with all the traffic, it is impossilbe to do the speed he claims I was doing. He also wrote the ticket for not the first level, but for 1 mile into the second level of speeding, so that if I negotiated it would be brought down to the first level and not anymore. I was really upset.

I went to court, and the officer never showed. I sat there for hours, I was really annoyed, since I was a single parent at the time and had to get home. I was told that since the officer wasn't there it would be rescheduled, and I would be notified.

OY! Sounds like our county prosecutor! You may have heard about us on the news a couple of months ago. Two A student, never been in trouble, polite boys were being prosecuted for a sex crime for Friday rear end slap at the Jr. High. Many, many kids were doing this...whopping some on the rear end as they passed in the hall on Fridays. These two got caught by a teacher, sent to the principal, who called the police, who sent it to the prosecutor. They charged them with a crime that would have required them to register as sex offenders for the rest of their lives. The press got involved and after a couple of months of **ll for them and their families a judge threw it out. :sad2: The prosecutor was not pleased, but he did say "we never intended to get a conviction of the felony charge, but would have plea bargained for a misdemeanor." Typical here. :scared: We are moving! If they commited a felony they should have been charged, if not then they never should have been charged with the felony so the prosecutor could have another "conviction" on his record for the misdemeanor. Got my blood boiing again. Sorry. It did make the national news.

Oh, sorry...too much of that this time of year. Of course the time you send them in anyway is the day they fall asleep over their lunch kit with a fever...oh, wait, that's ME! Hope your guy feels better.

Thanks, he is fine now. As soon as he walked in the door he wanted a snack. He has already had a banana, and an apple. He does have a bit of a cold though.

You can upgrade at the port for much less than doing it before hand if rooms are available. I'm going to guess they will be on this cruise.

Another question...rebooking.

Let's say we wanted to do another cruise in August. Just, you know, theoretically... on the website the cheapest date is Aug 24, which is a double dip. I'm getting $2500 for four, cat 12. That's a LOT, only about $200 less than we're paying for this cruise. 10% isn't going to make it worth it for us. But if we book onboard and the prices get better, can we book at the lower price and keep any part of the onboard discount? Stateroom credit or something?

And here's an even longer shot--if you're doing back-to-back (seeing as there are no 7 days from FL in August), do you get any discount for booking two together?

I have never had a honeycrisp, but gala's are one of my favorites. My Wegmans is selling a new apple called Sonya, it is a cross bet gala and red delicious. They are sweet and firm...very yummy :).
They are from New Zealand, and currently being grown only in Washington right now.

Yes, they have sold all the cat 12's. If you want an upgrade...get to the port early and try there. It will be cheaper then online now.
