Hey all!
I am new to the disboards. I just booked our very first Disney Cruise, we are going on December 8th and I was wondering if the ship does anything geared around the holidays? Christmas music, shows, decorations etc....

Thanks in advance for the responses!

Welcome Jill! There is nothing better than a DCL cruise!:goodvibes

Welcome, welcome! :yay: Oh yes, lots of holiday stuff going on! :thumbsup2

I am a full on romantic and I have to say that all the  between couples on this thread just warms my heart. :goodvibes

When I married Bill I knew it was forever. . . We are "soulmates" in every sense of the statement. Some things in life are "meant to be". I can picture myself getting old and grey with him (well, I am already getting white hairs from the stress of the children. But, that is another story:lmao: ). I am excited to see where life leads us and which paths we will walk down together. But, at least I know it will be "together".

I am excited for Emi and her DF on their upcoming nuptials. I was 24 and Bill was 27 when we got married. So, we weren't teenagers but we were not yet "responsible" adults either. It has been fun growing up with him over these past 11 years. We celebrate our anniversary in a couple of weeks. This year is my year to plan. We alternate years on who gets to plan the anniversary celebration. Bill surprised me with the WDW and DCL trip last year. How am I suppose to top that this year? I can sure as heck try though. . . :goodvibes

I was 20 and Jim was almost 23 when we got married 35 years ago:love:. How will I know when we become responsible adults?:rotfl2:

We're growing old together, but neither one of us is growing grey. One of us is losing some of his hair, but no gray!

We haven't figured out yet what we want to be when we grow up.

I was just reading the main board and someone sailing on 12/1 is talking about the upgrade they got! So they're working on the cruise ahead of us! Annnnnnny day now....

OK. I am so excited to think I may get an upgrade. :cheer2: Why do they do this????

I don't know how it happened but we have three (YES THREE) Bearmy teddy bears. They each now have different clothing. But, I could never remember which "bear" they had. We have one of the Bearemy's dressed in a Dallas Cowboys outfit for DS2 (too cute!). Another is dressed as a fireman (DS7's toddler room was fire engines and dalmations). The last one is dressed in a karate outfit (DS7 use to take karate). DD5 also has the bunny. It is the one she got for her First Birthday Party at BAB. We named her "Hoppy Birthday". Hoppy is dressed in a Hello Kitty outfit (to go with the scheme of DD5's room) and Skechers. They have EVERYTHING for those stuffed animals in there. I couldn't believe DD5's bunny has Skechers to match her own! DS7 also has an orange bear he got a few years back. DS7 named him "Pumpkin". I thought that was just the cutest name for an orange bear. He came up with that all by himself when he was 3. Pumpkin is pretty naked right now. So, we may have to find him something to wear. :rolleyes1

I have a total of umm.. 25 "build a bears".. Well, 1 is a Philly Phantic, 1 is a mini Mets bear given out for Free at a game, 1 is a Red Philadelphia Statium Bear and 1 is a Brown Philadelphia Statium bear, 1 Rabbit, 1 Cow, 1 Turtle, 1 Dinosaur, 1 Cheddah.. Soon to add 1 Polar Bear..

There is an Official BAB in the Philly Baseball Statium.. so those are legit BABs as well :goodvibes

I have a NJ Devil outfit on one, and a NY Mets outfit on one, One is a Turkey right now, a Pirate, a Bee, and the rest are all in regular clothes or fancy dresses..

10 of them are moving to Florida when DH drives down for Thanksgiving.. :sad1: But, that leaves me room for New ones!! :thumbsup2

We sailed last year on the Wonder right after Thanksgiving. The ship was already beautifully decorated for the holidays. They have a huge tree in the main lobby as you enter the ship. There is also garland draping the banisters. There is a large gingerbread house near Parrot Cay (restaurant). The characters come out on a certain night dressed in "holiday attire" (plaid greens and reds). We used the photo with Mickey for our Christmas card last year. There is a tree lighting ceremony on the first evening onboard. Also, If interest you can look in the Navigator (onboard daily newsletter) for the gingerbread house making activity for the whole family. Even Castaway Cay is decorated for the holidays. When you step onto the island they have snow (bubbles) blowing and a gigantic tree waiting. We were offered cookies and juice at the gangplank (spelling?) on our way back onboard. The tram on the island has a red nose and antlers to look like a reindeer. Our kids got a kick out of that. I think Brack has a photo of that somewhere. That is all I can think of for now. I am sure others have ideas too. :goodvibes

I am so excited:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
I had no idea the island would be decorated.
We went on a cruise the week before Thanksgiving last year and the ship was ready but not the island.:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

:headache: Okay, it has taken me almost ten minutes to make two posts! This site really tests my patience! :sad2: I'll check back later . . .

Disney Paris using your brand new DVC points!! :thumbsup2 SSSHHHH. Don't tell Bill.;)

I was a teenager when I met and married my soulmate, best bud. I was 17 when we got married and Dennis was all of 22. Now, I would not recommend that for most, but I also would not have changed that for me.

We want to vacation for work and drive one of those houses when we grow up!:lmao: :rotfl2:

I'm gray, but try not to let anyone know it. You won't tell, right?:)

Jennifer, that is GREAT!!!! Tina and I were both 24 when we got married and 20 when we started dating, so we're pretty close to the same boat you two are in. I agree COMPLETELY on a big congrats to everyone that is still married after the first year and to Emi on the upcoming!! As for your anniversary, I have to give you one tip about guys: (it doesn't matter!) As long as we're spending it with the love of our lives, and they have actually REMEMBERED, then we could care less. A day/night with you is probably all Bill wants!! Again, congrats on the anniversary!!!!:yay:

I noticed the post about not giving out the names of our kids and room numbers. I really like to think Disney is safe.

I am just wondering if anyone has had anything like this happen? On our cruise last year, there was a man who I always saw by himself. He was always in the areas crowded with children. Like the pool. He really bothered me so I kept my eye on him the entire week. I never saw him with another adult or children of his own. Maybe I am making too much of this, but something about him really bothered me. When he was around I made my kids leave.

I probably should have said something to the staff. I just didn't think.
