HI EVERYONE!!! i got great news!!!! me and my kickline team got 1st place in pom pon, 2nd place in kick and 3rd place in lyrical(a jazzy ballet)!!!!!!! it is now 7:44pm right now in new york and i just got home from a long weekend. it was so exciting. i will post up pictures as soon as i can and one of my friends video taped pom and kick for me. i am hoping for a snow day tomorrow!! hahaha

Thanks! We're so proud of him, too. He had an upset stomach today (doesn't appear to be a bug - probably food-related) so he didn't swim. He has a couple of more meets before the Eastern Regionals in Delaware.

Vero is all about relaxation (though the pool chair saving game people played every morning used to get me going some times!!) - you can do as many of the activities as you like. There's even a small miniature golf course!

The sea turtle program ("Turtle Patrol") is offered in June and July when the turtles are nesting and hatching. There's an informative program inside and then a walk on the beach to take a closer look - it lasts about 3 hours (it's an evening program). It's very popular and I'm sure they still have a "lottery" to get in. We found it very educational and fun.

Protection of the turtles is a big deal at the resort. There is limited lighting and the balcony doors are actually tinted.

We were planning on going to Vero this summer, but opted to trade out for something closer because our plans are taking us to WDW in the fall. We might consider Vero for Spring Break 2009.

Same thing as chair saving on the cruise. Though I don't think we experienced any big problems on our last cruise we that.

Congrats on the new camera. I have the cannon A95, so I know what you mean about A620. They are times I want a better digtal camera, but I don't take a lot of action shots, but the zoom would be handy

Since DD started HS Cross Country I found out how hard it was to judge when she was going to hit the frame during the brief delay when taking the picture with our smaller camera. Let's just say I had alot of pictures of tress and grass without DD in it.

Flipping through the channels tonight and came across "Repo Man"... one of the more bizarre movies I've ever seen. Haven't seen it in probably 10 years or so either.

Yeah. Same thing in HHI this past summer. Our unit was right at the pool so we used to see people coming in around 8AM and mostly "reserving" the tables around the pool. Sometimes they wouldn't show up at the pool until until the afternoon, too. We didn't have any issues finding chairs though.

On one of our trips to Vero a family actually took the table and chairs we had while we were in the pool. They didn't move any of our stuff - just sat down and brought all their food, etc. We came over - they were sitting on our towels - it was quite awkward! Honestly we weren't mad because we understood their dilemma about finding a spot...but they left a nasty mess and really didn't respect our stuff. I really don't know where the happy medium is on this subject.

Have fun with the camera Denise! I got a Kodak 7mp, 12x optical zoom, image stabilizer, etc etc last April. I cannot tell you how wonderul sports action shots come out. I didn't buy any additional lenses (yet). Even close ups (I have some of butterflies and bugs on plants) come out very crisp. I think your camera is more powerful than mine, so you should get some terrific shots.

I could never do that. I don't understand HOW people can justify to themselves that it's OK to go save chairs HOURS before they intend to use them. I don't get this whole thing. We only swam a few times on the cruise and overall I did not notice a problem with chair saving. We were on a sold out sailing too, so it must just depend on the sort of group on any given sailing.

Mine and DH's 10 year anniversay is coming up Feb 21st so I decided to buy him a new wedding band. The current ring he has is too small. He can still wear it but it is tight! It has such a design that it can't be extended. The ring I bought him is just for presentation. We will have to go back and order another for correct size as well as there is some discoloration on the gold. It was a brand new design they got in so I hope this isn't a problem with this particular ring, and just a fluke. Anyway, I told the salesperson our anniv wasn't until Feb 21st. Before I left she reconfirmed that I can bring it back to reorder. I got home and was checking out the receipt and it says 30 day return policy!! Our anniversary is farther out than 30 days! Should I go ahead and give it to DH so we can get a new one by anniversary time, call the store and complain that she didn't tell me in advance it was 30 days knowing my anniversary is after 30 days, or how should I handle. DH did not ask for a ring and I'm sure won't be overly-thrilled with it but I wanted to give him something with meaning.
