I know I love my small digital and will probably take only that one with us on vacation, its been years since I lugged a big camera around. I think I might try to take the big one with us to St Thomas in June and if that works out ok then I probably will take it to Ireland(first time) and Disney Cruise...

I bet you'll get some fabulous shots in Ireland with your new camera - whereabouts does the tour take you?

Update: we got about of a 1/2 inch of slushy mess. No 8 to 14 inches we were hearing Mother nature foolled them down on the coast.

That's good news, I did hear the plow go past this morning but the roads are pretty clear now.

Its the Disney Adventure Trip - Were going in 09 so if everything stays the same as 08 - Dublin, Cashel, Killarney, Kenmare, Dingle Peninsula, Dromoland Castle, Cliffs of Moher, Shannon.

I usually have a couple of years of trips planned out due to our DVC and Marriot Time Share in St Thomas. Although if we plan on going back to WDW in the next couple of years it will have to be with Cash since we have used all of 08 points and half of our 09 points. Its funny when we first bought we were always banking a year, and even after we added on several times (addicted) we did pretty well until the last couple of years. Once we started taking extended family with us it started eating up the points pretty quick. Although it was really worth it, we really enjoyed having everyone there with us.

I can't wait to go to Ireland, it is something I have really wanted to do for along time. First Ireland 09, then London ?? and Scotland ??...We also might trade of Marriott St Thomas week for a week at the Marriott in Spain.

Sounds fabulous, Denise! You will definitely get some great photos! The ABD trips look fantastic... I have wanted to visit Ireland for a while too. My DH is a quarter Irish but we've never been. I'm meeting up with a girlfriend on Wednesday evening who lives near Dublin so I'm hoping to arrange a trip soon..

I'm the same - we've owned our Spanish timeshare for about 12 years and so try and put in an appearance there every year. Now we have DVC and that requires planning too. My problem is so many vacations, too little time!!!

The Marriot resorts are very near us - just down the coast a little way and look beautiful! Apparently Disney owns land near there too so who knows whether they'll build DVC there in the future...????

Yep we got lucky in my part of the state, not sure of those upstate, it sounded like they still may get some of the bigger snow fall.

Well I'm back, and as usual spent way more then I intended. Just to give a little background, my DH must have ignored all of my comments over the last 12 months that I really really would like a bigger digital camera so I could take better action shots of DD in sports. I already have a Canon A620 which is a great little put in your purse camera but sticks for action or low light shots.

So when I saw the Best Buy box at Christmas I thought yahhhh. Well after 16yrs of marriage I should have really known better. What I did get was a really expensive digital photo frame that does tons of things I will never have time to figure out. After weeks of working up my courage to tell my DH that I really wanted to take it back and get the camera, I bite the bullet and told him... Of course he really didn't care, so I ended up getting a Canon EOS Rebel XT 18-55mm, additional Lens 75 -300MM, Flash, and Case. Taking Case back since it really isn't what I needed. I can't wait to use it on our upcoming trips...

We are also having very snowy weather today, the weather person said less then 1 inch for the day....We are about 4 inches right now.

That's the camera I have, I love it and take it everywhere!! However I was extrememly paranoid about it at the beach and WDW (in the rain), and around the water (I have heard horror stories about sand in the lense, etc)so I just got a "water camera" it is an Olympus 790sw:shock prook, freeze proof, water proof, everything proof, sorry I just kept going LOL Anyway I will be using it at the beach, and at WDW when it rains, so now I will have 2 cameras to keep up with. The Olympus is small too, I hope I don't lose it .

Yeah. Same thing in HHI this past summer. Our unit was right at the pool so we used to see people coming in around 8AM and mostly "reserving" the tables around the pool. Sometimes they wouldn't show up at the pool until until the afternoon, too. We didn't have any issues finding chairs though.

On one of our trips to Vero a family actually took the table and chairs we had while we were in the pool. They didn't move any of our stuff - just sat down and brought all their food, etc. We came over - they were sitting on our towels - it was quite awkward! Honestly we weren't mad because we understood their dilemma about finding a spot...but they left a nasty mess and really didn't respect our stuff. I really don't know where the happy medium is on this subject.

Oh my gosh that must have been "weird." I know a ton of people reserved on the cruise. But DH was good and as I got the kids ready he went to the pool and plunked himself down so I would have a chair. SO he kind of was reserving it for me but he was sitting in it till I got there...

Mine and DH's 10 year anniversay is coming up Feb 21st so I decided to buy him a new wedding band. The current ring he has is too small. He can still wear it but it is tight! It has such a design that it can't be extended. The ring I bought him is just for presentation. We will have to go back and order another for correct size as well as there is some discoloration on the gold. It was a brand new design they got in so I hope this isn't a problem with this particular ring, and just a fluke. Anyway, I told the salesperson our anniv wasn't until Feb 21st. Before I left she reconfirmed that I can bring it back to reorder. I got home and was checking out the receipt and it says 30 day return policy!! Our anniversary is farther out than 30 days! Should I go ahead and give it to DH so we can get a new one by anniversary time, call the store and complain that she didn't tell me in advance it was 30 days knowing my anniversary is after 30 days, or how should I handle. DH did not ask for a ring and I'm sure won't be overly-thrilled with it but I wanted to give him something with meaning.

What a thoughtfull gift...And romantic....

I would first call the store and see what they say. Why should you give it to him early....................

NO SCHOOL, here we have about 15 inches of snow........!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats, Denise on booking with Carol. She emailed me this morning and said we could take four more cabins into our group. THe rate may even go down more if we get them then we will get the group ammenities. If anyone is intrested Ed, Abby, myself, and Denise are all booked with a GREAT TA who is offering us a group rate and group ammenities while onboard. We got AWESOME OBC and we are getting either a Palo's Brunch, or a welcome cocktail reception, and stateroom gifts.............

I was afraid of it getting broken etc so I ended up buying the Best Buy Warranty, I normally don't but this one will cover sand etc - just about anything for 4yrs. The last big camera I had my DD knocked it off the table at a wedding reception and broke it.

So far we have traded for Hilton Head Island and Williamsburg Va, both were alot of fun. We usually stay at BCV on site.....I can't wait for Hawaii, I thinking 2011 will be a good time to do a week at Disney Hawaii and a Week at a Marriott.

I forgot to mention, the trades were extremely easy and in Williamsburg we traded for a week at the Marriot Manor Club (i think that was the name) it was a 1 bedroom very nice - kids activities etc.
