Sorry, just had to give Tom a bit of run for his money......I just like to tease Tom.....

Not a problem, We all love pictures, I just seen some threads where some one will post a picture , and then for days people reply to say what a great picture and then repost and repost the same picture over and over.

Once or twice in a row isn't a problem , but when the 10th person in a row does that it makes a thread hard to read. :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I see you have stayed at Old Key West..How was that. We have said that we have wanted to try and stay there.. I hear the rooms are bigger there...Is that true??

I love SSR so much I just wonder how the two compare???????

We haven't stayed at SSR, but the Beach Club villas are a good comparasion I heard. The room layout is simular. OKW feels larger, the main room/kitchen area is larger at OWK, but we didnt feel cramped at the Beach Club. We liked being able to park directly in front of the units at OKW, Beach Club and I think some of the other DVC places, you need to have them park the car and then you walk a distance to the room.

I have head that the pool at the Beach CLub is really cool...

I would like to stay at OKW..But I think now that we have stayed at SSR so many times it would be hard to try something else. We like the same thing..But I had a few people tell me that OKW is bigger..

How is the resort laid out??

I It is really easy to understand and the rooms can not be beat...They are AWESOME...

Also, you do not just have to go to Disney there are over 500 locations around the world you can go and stay at..

kritter hit the nail right on the head - it's really tough to go back to standard hotel rooms after staying in DVC accommodations. Last month we stayed for a few days at POR and felt a bit out of sorts. The flexibility is great, too. In '07 we spent a week at Hilton Head Island, three nights at the Charleston Place Hotel, two nights at the Mandarin Oriental in D.C., and then 5 nights at POR. Our '08 plans are 7 nights in Williamsburg (traded out) and 5 nights at SSR (though we may try for another DVC resort when we get to the 7-month window).

I know owning DVC almost makes you become spoiled and never wanting to stay in a regular room....
How was HH??
When will be at SSR????

I have a really dumb question. Are the Beach Club Villas at the Yacht and Beach Club? The last time I went to Disney I stayed at the Beach Club but it was on a travel agent trip and I hardly had any time to explore the resort. What I did see was gorgeous!

It is really easy. My parents own a "typical time share" and it is much harder and complicated to understand.

Well Disney offers you points to purchase. So you decide upon how many points to buy. Right now the least amount you can purchase is 160..You can buy right now into Animal Kindgom Lodge or Saratoga Springs (this is where we own).. We love it. Then you get the guide book once you buy. Depending upon what time of year and what type of accomadations you want/need it costs different amounts of points per night. A studio in September at Saratoga might cost you ten points a night. Friday and Saturday night stays cost more points. There are studio which have kitchenettes and a pullout sofa and a queen bed. There are one and two bedrooms which have king bed in the masterbedroom, whirlpool tubs, washter and dryers, and full kitchens, there are Grand Villas which sleep twelve and cost more points. It is really easy to understand and the rooms can not be beat...They are AWESOME...

We like it since we are not all in one reg. hotel room. When we went to NYC in May for Mother's Day weekend we complained the whole time about being in a regular room.
Also, if you do not use all of your points one year you can bank them or borrow from the next year for a HUGE trip if you wanted. This year we are taking friends with us to a two bedroom to Vero Beach Florida..

How was HH??
When will be at SSR????

HH is one of our home resorts and we absolutely love it there. Very laid back, but still lots of activities to keep everyone happy! The area is very nice as well. If you're looking for high-paced theme park action then this isn't the place. It's an excellent place to vacation though.

SSR is currently booked for November 5 - 10. Now that our oldest is in middle school it's not easy to take him out of school for a week, nor do I enjoy WDW in the middle of the summer, so it's the infamous "Jersey Week" for us now. We've only stayed at SSR once previously and that was just for a 2 nighter prior to our last cruise. Possibly looking to switch over to AKV or BCV, but we'll figure that out later!

I have always wanted to go to HH. We are booked to Vero Beach this summer and I think that is the same type of resort with the laid back feeling....We were booked at HH for last June but I could not find a decent flight so I ended up cancelling it...Plus, it was last minute and it was going to have to be a cash ressie boy the roos are expensive if you are going to have to use cash....

I need to figure out what else we want to do for 08 with all of the developer points I had and the add on we still have over 300 points to use. I may try to rent some out not sure yet........

Vero Beach is also very nice - though I think the surrounding area isn't as nice as in HH. The benefit of VB is the resort is right on the oceanfront as opposed to HH where you have to drive or bike over to the Beach House.

Getting a decent flight to HH is tricky from up here as you already experienced. Flights to Savannah don't seem to have too many options/discounts. We have driven down there on occasion and flown Spirit from Atlantic City to Myrtle Beach as another option.

For this 2009 cruise I certainly hope the airlines have their acts together a bit more. Flying, security concerns aside, has become quite an adventure recently....

What is a Travel Agent trip?
Are you a Travel Agent too??

That was when I used to be a travel agent. At that time I was completing the Disney College of Knowledge course and the final phase of completing it was a travel agent trip to Disney. It was free for me! We were there for 4 days, toured a bunch of different resorts on site, different restaurants on-site, and different activities around the parks. We even got to take two classes at the Disney Institute. While we had very little free time, it was a wonderful trip! Completing the course meant I would qualify to be a Disney Specialist, kind of like having cruise specialists in agencies. But that was 12 years ago so I'm really out of the loop now with all the changes over the years.

OKW is spead out into clusters of buildings
They have a couple smal pools and the main pool by the checkin building

I just sent you a couple of links with info about OKW.

Ditto, We stayed there once and was hooked. Only way to visit WDW,
Nice home away from home , you don't feel like your renting a motel room.

Since we can't adford to buy yet, we have been renting points.

They are at the Beach Club. When you are standing in the main entrance, look to the right and it is separte building .
They have they own pool for DVC, but you can also use the main pool.

We had a great time and would stay here again.
