Thank you for the info! I'm going to look into it a bit further. I can hear it right now, DH would say no. But he also said we'd only cruise on DCL one time!

Stay there once either on points or paying rack rate and he will be hooked.

The separted bedroom and kitchenette was enough for us.
The one bedroom units and above also have a washer and dryer in the unit. When we did the cruise we stayed a few days first at OKW, Was able to bring less clothes and have clean ones for the cruise.

Some meals in the unit also saves money too.

They are at the Beach Club. When you are standing in the main entrance, look to the right and it is separte building .
They have they own pool for DVC, but you can also use the main pool.

We had a great time and would stay here again.

Beach Club is our home resort and we would stay there everytime if we could figure out a way to plan 11 months ahead so we could get in. Unfortunately we NEVER have our act together enough to do that!

My Dh and I went to the DVC presentation on our Sept 2007 cruise and bought in. I had talked to him about it before, of course it was a no go. But on the cruise the presentation was laid out a little better for him I guess plus we got to buy in at AKV which we had been wanting to stay at. The previous 2 trips were at POP and Caribbean Beach and we knew we wanted more space. We also got some good incentives on the cruise!! Now question for repeat cruisers- Do you guys go to the DVC presentations even though you already own?

DVC would still work for you, You could buy less points, then Bank one year and the next year you could get a bigger unit or stay more days.

They were plenty of owners at the two presentations onboard.
They have give aways including On Board credits sometimes as part of a raffle.

I think so and I agree with caitlinsdad about banking points and staying at a better resort every two years. When we went on our cruise in Sept - we got 160 pts(that's all we bought- so far ), and they started our use year in April 2007, I think we paid $8-9, and $500 Disney visa reward dollars. At least go to the presentation and see what they offer. BTW- we are renting our points for DVC and paying cash for DCL- I wanted to keep my OBC. Also we can stay at AKV now in May 2008 with our points from 2007- we wouldn't have been able to go back to WDW until 2009- before our cruise(we usually do every 2 yr big vacations as well.)So excited about that!

Vero Beach is also very nice - though I think the surrounding area isn't as nice as in HH. The benefit of VB is the resort is right on the oceanfront as opposed to HH where you have to drive or bike over to the Beach House.

Getting a decent flight to HH is tricky from up here as you already experienced. Flights to Savannah don't seem to have too many options/discounts. We have driven down there on occasion and flown Spirit from Atlantic City to Myrtle Beach as another option.

For this 2009 cruise I certainly hope the airlines have their acts together a bit more. Flying, security concerns aside, has become quite an adventure recently....

I really think HH will be in our future...

We would probally fly out of HPN~~~~White Plains to go to there. We have flown out of there our last two trips and it is much cheaper than going out of BDL~~~~~~aka:Hartford/Springfiled....

That was when I used to be a travel agent. At that time I was completing the Disney College of Knowledge course and the final phase of completing it was a travel agent trip to Disney. It was free for me! We were there for 4 days, toured a bunch of different resorts on site, different restaurants on-site, and different activities around the parks. We even got to take two classes at the Disney Institute. While we had very little free time, it was a wonderful trip! Completing the course meant I would qualify to be a Disney Specialist, kind of like having cruise specialists in agencies. But that was 12 years ago so I'm really out of the loop now with all the changes over the years.

I have been very interested in the Disney College for TA...I have planned numerous trips for friends and family and a friend and I have been trying to gather info. about this....

We still go to the presentations well it is diff. if you already own. Let them know you are DVC owners you will get a magnet on your door saying you are one. Then you will get a special invite to a owners only presentation they ask you qestions and everyone leaves with prizes. While we were onboard last time that is when they told us about AKV!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it would be very worth while for you to buy into it. In the long run it saves you money. DH figures after five trips anwhere in the type of accomadations that you get your futrure trips would have already paid for themselves.....

Nearly 95% the same, yours is a BBC production, (thats our premier TV service).

You have two different hosts, but two of the judges on yours are Len and Bruno our Judges, ( well two of our four, you have three) but your set, the title music, the stage, the voice over etc are all ours,

We had an old programme running for 50 years odd 'Come dancing' Strictly is based on that, -it had only proffesional dancers, and the BBC sold the format around the world.

I presume as the USA do not know 'Come dancing' they wanted to explain what the show is about.

You really need to go into travel Kristin!! You are already very knowledgeable about Disney. A Disney or cruise only would be my ideal. I'm not sure how the discounts are nowadays for agents but you could probably get some benefit out of it. Have you asked your TA questions about getting in?? I had gone to a travel school and interned at a mom and pop agency. I finished second in my class so in no time at all I had a job offer at a large agency. I was with them for 3 years. I also worked at two other agencies and had the opportunity to go to training for all 4 of the industry computer systems at that time. It's all different now because it's web-based. This was back in the day when you actually had to learn all the codes to type in for basic functions like requesting flights, and such. In travel I never had a problem getting jobs. But that may all be different now. Just definitely pursue it if you are interested in it. I don't regret getting out of it because the pay was terrible for a single girl, but I did love travel. I had the opportunity to get back in a couple of years ago. An owner of the best agency I worked for went into business from her home. She asked me if I would be interested in doing it too. The company I'm with now is too wonderful to walk away from, so I turned it down.
