08/08/07 Well, Olbia Monkey's Uncle! We're cruisin' on the 10nt Med Cruise!

Nordkin...that's interesting. Would be nice if we'd get an upgrade. We have a Gty Cat 6 and so far haven't been assigned a cabin. Anybody else with a GTY cabin status ? Has everyone decided about their shore excursions ? Anyone doing Cefalu / Marionette Show or Palermo for Kids ? Only 22 days til we can book. As far as Palo, I think I'll just try and get brunch this cruise.

scrapycruiser - Hope you are assigned a cabin soon! Sorry you didn't get an answer on your other thread about the wish list. I asked a friend who already booked and she said you can use the wish list but you have to do each excursion separately. No one click booking. Too bad! We aren't planning on those excursions (unless we can't get our first choice).

Only 21 days until we can book now! I guess I need to pay!
We will probably only try for Palo brunch for this cruise also. I will try for Palo only after excursions are booked. Palo is not a priority for us on this trip.

Anyone getting excited?

We are also GTY but in two Cat 9s. Still no room assignment for us either, but I am not expecting one until about 30 days out. I do keep checking the site to see availability and if they are allowing staterooms to be selected. If they do at some point, I will call and reserve specific rooms. We definitely want to be on deck 2 as it is our favorite location and we prefer aft.

We have our excursions selected and will not be concerned if we don't get Palo. We would like brunch and the tea if they have it, but it is not the end of the world if we don't get it.

How do you know if DCL is allowing people to select their cabins ?
Still can't decide what to do in Villefrance. I'm thinking by then we'll all be exhausted ! May just go to Monoco or Nice by bus...may relax on the ship.

What's everyone booking ?

As far as Palo, we'd like to get brunch but don't care about dinner this cruise.

May 10, 3AM is correct.

To tell if DCL is allowing people to select their stateroom you have to try to book a cabin on the site, click on chose specific stateroom, and go all the way through book it. If you get a red error message after hitting this button, then it is guarantee. Or - you can call and ask.

Interesting...I went to DCL.com and made a res for our cruise date, 2 adults ,1 child Cat 6 and they let me choose my cabin ! 6626 to be exact. Now why can't they assign us a cabin ? I know we won't get upgraded, cause Cat 4 is for families and all the other Cat above ours are for 4 or more people. Well except for Cat 5 ( which is just like Cat 6 except on a higher deck ).

Might give DCL a call tomorrow...it's really no big deal. I'd just like to see where we'll be

We are going to book one of the short tours through DCL. I can't remember the name of the excursions off hand. I agree that we will be exhausted by then! I wanted to give the kids some free time so maybe they can enjoy the pool.

Can't wait to have the ressie rush behind us!

You do have your ROOM booked for this cruise right!!

You can start booking shore excursions on May 10th if you're a repeat cruiser and have paid your cruise fare in full (it's due on that day anyway).

You do have a room onboard don't you. You have a room even if it is still in the "GTY" (guarentee) status.

jrabbit....yes, we have a "room", gty 6 . I called DCL today and was told they are starting to assign cabins.Beginning with earliest booked. When was the first month you could book this cruise ? We booked in May, 2006 with DVC points. I'll never do that again. I feel like we treated differently cause we used points. DCL won't even answer any questions...they say I have to call DVC since we paid with our points ???

Nevertheless...we are very excited !!! No one will rain on our parade !
Just hope our cabin isn't across from the laundry room !

Hi. Checking in for this cruise. We are myself, my husband Joel and my 16 YO son Daniel. We have late dinner seating, and guarantee category #10.

Scrapycruiser - we also paid for the two adults with DVC points. I am fine with it because it made it affordable for us. Aside from the fact that I am still freaking out over how much the airplane tickets were from San Francisco, CA. It is annoying to have to go through DVC for any questions, especially since they put us on hold to call DCL anyway, so I don't understand the reason why they make us do that.

We are spending a week in London first, then a night in Barcelona before the cruise. If I had known how much there is to do in Barcelona I would have planned another night or two there.

I am looking forward to being able to book our excursions next month, and hope we get the Palo's brunch at least if not dinner also.

Love the "Monkey's Uncle" cruise. This is the first cruise I have planned that the thread has been so slow. How about the few of us posting doing a meet and greet the first day at sea since the first day the sail away party is so late in the evening?
