07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

Ok I'm sorry that I don't know how to cut and paste the quotes from other replies.

GoofyDisney, We are doing the tour w/out lunch whatever that one is. We have ponchos packed and will try to remember them that day. There is a new bug spray with picaridin instead of deet. Made by cutter. It's been in Europe awhile but is new to the USA. Supposed to be safer and doesn't need to be washed off skin. It seems to work, so we will bring that plus we have special spray for our clothes.

Disney again,
I'm not sure if the lab has a pj party, maybe someone else knows.

I've looked on the DCL site - - can't find this info about tendering/docking. Does anyone know if we dock or tender for Cozumel and Costa Maya? (booking last minute excursions - argh!)
Thanks!

Tendering in cozumel (pier still damaged)

Docking in Costa Maya (the only ship in port that day)

Since it sounds like we have a bunch of folks ready to start their vacation already, let's make sure we all come back to this board to share our pictures and stuff after the trip, OK? Everyone travel safely...

For the Mayan Ruins tour, is it really suggested to wear long sleeves and pants? Blech...I'll roast. Thanks for the pointer about the new bug spray, roysbrew, I'll have to keep an eye out for that.

Bethipooh and roodoll, with your luck, sounds like you need to wrap everyone in bubble wrap, just to be sure....of course, the ride down might be a little, um, uncomfortable. At least you'll have to something to do if you get bored. (Pop.....pop..pop pop pop.....popppopppopppopppopp).

I can see me now, instead of the commercial, "stop touching your brother" it will be stop popping your brother. :rotfl2: He is actually fully recovered and was given a clean bill of health back in Dec. Of course the first time he slid into second base I almost fainted.

We are doing the Chaccohoben ruins tour....I have the bug spray out already, but long pants and shirts and raingear? WOW....DH and DS will pass out. And make fun of me for making them wear it..lol

Someone said something about a PJ partyfor the kids?? Thats a new one to me...

Ok who is lucky enough to be leaving already? Are you going to pick me up off of I-95 and take me? I can be packed in a minute...

we have early seating for dinner...anyone else?

Hi Desperados!!

Boy, you guys have become a chatty bunch :chat: I've been off the boards for a couple of days helping out my mom who is having trouble with gout  and I come back today to almost 3 pages of new posts! I guess we're all getting excited! party:

I've started packing here too! I just hope I can fit it all in! We've been busy making some Disney shirts (both tye-dye and the ones from Family Circle that you make with flour and fabric paint) and they've come out really cute! I can't wait to wear them. DH is not a tux guy so he'll be in a suit and my DS, who is 13, has at least agreed to wear a dress shirt with a tie!

We're leaving on Wed to have a few days at Universal :charac4: before the cruise. We're looking forward to showing our best friends around (Hi Gail  ). I've been working on our family bag and only have one thing left to get.

If any of you that are getting to the port early would be willing to do me a favor please send me a PM. We're trying to get a ressie for brunch at Palo but won't be getting to the ship until after 2pm. I was hoping someone could see if they'd let you make a ressie for a friend. I would be happy to buy you your favorite beverage as a thank you!

Can't wait to meet you guys, I hope everyone has safe travels to Port Canaveral! :moped: See you all on the 22nd!

I have the bug spray for the tour - but me in long sleeves and long pants???...I don't think so!!! My DH & DD's might go for it. I get hot looking at people with long sleeves & long pants when it's 70 degrees out!!

We have the late seating... found it to be the best for us.

 Less than a week before we leave!! Lot's of pixiedust: for everyone for a safe trip down!!

Note that the tender ride in Cozumel is pretty short (shorter than Grand Cayman for example). The work on the pier is coming along, but I wouldn't expect it complete until the end of the year.

You get off right downtown (not about 3 miles away like the other ships). When we were there (7/5/06), the only ship that docked was the Norwegian Cruise Line (RCCL I think can dock too, but they were not in that day). The pier they use is damaged too, but there is just enough not damaged for one boat to dock on each side (about 1/4 of the pier).

Where Disney tenders is great - you are right at the Punta Langosta mall, with a huge taxi stand to get you anywhere else on the island (and with posted rates to most locations).

hi im going to the cruise with my familia.
i am 14 and my brother is 13. my dad is currycook you might know him.

but anyways we are getting pretty excited. i have made the door signs for us so now we have one for every night.

Early seating here, as well. Here's hoping for the coveted APL rotation.... pirate:

Early seating really does have it's advantages....especially on Pirate Night ( pirate: aaargh - turkey legs!) and Midnight Dessert Buffet Night. :teeth:

!@#$%@. It's only 9:30 here, and now I'm hungry.

I think we have early seating as well. (I should pay more attention, but honestly, as long as I'm getting on the boat, I'm pretty easy about all the details...:teeth: )

Disneykids9294, most of the cheap pirate stuff I got was online and it's probably too late to order, but the party stores around us have a lot of pirate themed items right now and it all seems reasonably priced. pirate: My DD will turn 14 on the cruise and my best friend's son is 13, so I'm sure there will be kids your age around. :thumbsup2

hello I'm GD's DD. I made the bag from my family. i can't wate to make flubber it may be gross. see you all on the ship. :tink: :mickeyjum :butterfly pixiedust: :sail: :dumbo: :tinker: :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earboy2: ::MickeyMo :earseek: :stitch: :simba: :goofy: :figment: :maleficen :sulley: :tigger: :hmghost: pirate: :artist: :woohoo: pixiedust:

We are eating at the early seating. I am wondering if I should request a seating rotation or if it is too late. It is just me and my DH. Any thoughts?

I've requested rotations in the past, and never gotten it, so this time I didn't even bother...

Today, DS got an inflatable Pirates sword with the McDonald's Happy Meal. Very exciting for the ship -- and no danger to other guests pirate:

More stuff for the state bag today, I hope someone enjoys the choices.

Thanks for the pop pop pop and the "stop popping your brother" :rotfl2: I will chuckle about that while I'm working.

Mr Shiny, thanks for the tender info.

9 days and we're all in line for the Drill!!! :hourglass

We are late seating. I requested 8:00 pm which should be APL. 8:00 isn't too late. Last year it was all 8:30 and we fine.

Long pants and shirts when thin like our are actually supposed to be better. We'll see. They are roll up shirts and zip off pant legs. So coming and going we will be shorts and short shirt. Then long for the tour.

Just about done the bag. Do you think we will have a hard time with any food items?
