We'll be in our traditional matching tropical Disney outfits as well, even though we're coming from Universal Studios on Saturday. :rotfl: Mom2missmous, are you wearing the medium blue pattern with the beach scenes or the navy with the tiki pattern? We might end up matching you. We bought the new red tropical pattern at the Disney Store for this year but the sizes are HUGE and we may need to go back to one of our old sets so my DD and I don't drown in our shirts. :(

I wanted to get both those outfits, but was told NO by everyone....so I have to be happy with the shirts...
We don't have a Disney Store near us.... :sad2:

We have a 11 am shuttle from the Radisson. We had to go later so the 12 of us can be in the same shuttle...

And on a happy note, I got my stuff to fit in the bag I had bought.... So no ruler for me from the bag lady....I had enough of that in Catholic school from the nuns(I was left handed....OUCH)

Ours are a few years old...kinda a deep blue with flowers, shells and drums(mostly done in gold/brown hues) with "snapshots" of minnie and mickey playing drums/maracas and /or dancing on the beach. I know there have been at least two new blue patterns since we bought these- but we only use them when we cruise so never bothered to replace them (okay. I confess, I HAVE worn them to school a couple times :teeth: ). It would be cool if we matched! Enjoy Universal! Are you staying on site (their FOTL perk was sooo worth it for us!)? We usually go for a couple days every other year (in between our DVC stays). This is an "ALL Disney" year :tinker:

Yep, we have that same maraca design! :teeth: The big question is whether or not DS9 can still fit into his two years later since the rest of us are about the same size. :confused3 If he can't, then we'll need to use one of our other sets. Like you, we mostly wear them for cruising so they stay in really good condition! :teeth:

At Universal, we are staying on property - at the Hard Rock - since we are traveling with my best friend and she convinced us that this was the way to go! (Hi Suzy!) I'm liking the idea of the front of the line pass, although we haven't done it yet. :thumbsup2

wow, i can't believe i'm going to be leaving in one week! the time is flying so quickly. i still have to print out the new tags for people that joined us! i'm going to be busy busy this week. :dance3:

Yeppers..the time is almost here..

We leave a week from Thursday, so much to do so little time...

I am doing all the laundry now, so I can get the dress shirts to the cleaners and get them pressed. Got the oil changed in the car today as well....

Time is slipping away :hourglass

Well, finally got the water heater fixed....fortunately. Even in SoCal during the summer, a hot shower is still highly desirable.

Savagefam, hope to see you, too. If you're leaving out of LAX on the Friday before, we might even get to meet on the plane! I don't remember who pointed it out, but I think I'll tie a HD Alien Green Mickey to my carry-on with my DisBoards name printed on it. I think that'll be better than the cardboard sign. :rotfl2:

Unfortunately, these next 10 days for me are going to go reallly sllooowwwwwlllyyyy.....

Everyone have a good week!

If I tried to convince my niece to do matching shirts or outfits, she'd... Well, it would confirm her thinking that I am totally bonkers, and she would probably triple check her suitcase before we left.

See you on the POFQ bus. Just look for the other sleep-deprived couple.

Great! How nice to have "company" on our ride to port! We will be the 40 something couple with the 22yr old red-headed DD(watch out- she "growls " when she is tired! LOL)

Bethipooh,

I'm another Catholic school lefty too. I actually use scissors with my right hand (I guess that's how they taught me)

I've made even more progress on my bag. It is nearly complete :thumbsup2

I caught DH putting together an Ikea shelf at lunch today (perk of working 2 miles from home). He packed about 1/2 his stuff last night though.

We are utilizing some empty plastic boxes we just bought from ikea to stick our clothes in. One for each person. And at least one for all the other stuff. toys, gift bag, fans, shoe holder, etc. Once the clothes are laid out I'm going to try to iron it all. key word try. If not I may get some stuff pressed onboard and I bought some Downey Wrinkle reducer.

DH has decided if no one in our meet has said they are wearing a tux, he's skipping too. He owns one but says he'll use the extra space for snorkeling gear. (BTW he's not really a snorkler, but I guess it has to start somewhere).
We got a good deal at Sams and some posts said the stuff on CC is only so so.

DbinMV, I'm glad you have hot water again :cool1:

How funny, I do everything right handed now except eat...but I have 2 lefties in my DS's..

No tux for any of our guys in our group, just suits...

I am going to go to Sams and get some snorkle stuff too, DS has been practicing in the pool with our old stuff he outgrew. The stuff on CC is OK....kinda yucks me out that other people used it...So since DS and DH are also going snorkeling in Cozumel its worth the money to get new for them.

My DH just got 2 sets of snorkel sets at Costco - he saw them later at Sam's they look just about the same. He also ordered swim vests yesterday! He's really getting into this! :fish: :beach:
Got our new cruise docs yesterday - they're so nice and dry and flat! Not wet and wavy like my other ones! So I guess we're officially going!
Got the buttons today from OT - for the DIS logo buttons Iggbees is making. Hope we have enough with all the new deperados joiniing us!
Jazstar87 made our t-shirts yesterday. They came out great! We got the idea from another thread - they got it from the family fun magazine. They're sun shirts.
So much to do - and here I am on the disboards and watching the travel channel - the Animal Kingdom story is on....like I've only seen it about 10 times! Just waiting for the All-Star game to come on. Lots of Mets in it this year! I've been a Mets fan since 6th grade - a long time ago!
We leave on the 19th - still hasn't sunk in it's a week away! I better get movin! :laundy: :mickeyjum :stitch2:

I think the shopping is done except for a trip to Borders to get CDs to listen to on the way down. We are going to get the old time radio shows like The Shadow. I dragged my husband out (kicking and screaming) last night.

I just finished my door sign and I made business cards for the myself and the kids, it makes it so much easier to exchange email, phone numbers and addresses. :boat:

I am really looking forward to this. I have never taken a two week vacation before. This will be great. :grouphug:

The only thing I am worried about is the drive home. We are going to stop at Downtown Disney after we get off the ship and do a little shopping. I need many tins of the Mickey Mouse Chocolate Chocolate Hot Chocolate to get me through to my next Disney fix. I keep reading trip reports about how tired people are when they get off and we have a 16 hour drive. :car: I wrote down the exits on 95 in South Carolina and North Carolina with alot of hotels. I figured we could stop if we wanted to. :surfweb:

Wooo Hoooo finally found a hotel!!!!!! :cool1:  :woohoo: Can you tell I'm excited. We are going to be staying at the Radisson at the Port. They told me they were sold out, but I kept trying and today...like Disney magic...they had an opening. :hyper:

I do believe my DH and DS(2) will be wearing a tux. At least one of the formal nights.

DBinMV: We are going to be leaving the Wed. before. Only flight that was available to use frequent flyer miles. We can't decide whether to go to DisneyWorld before the cruise or after the cruise. We have 3 days after the cruise too.

We're using "miles" too but had to go into Tampa instead of Orlando! Luckily DH's dad works for Enterprise so we get killer deals on rental cars.

Can you go both times? Before and after the cruise? We only have time for 2 days before hand but how I would love to go before and after! :bounce:

Congrats on the hotel!!!! Don't forget to try and reserve your shuttle now if you are using their shuttle service to the port!! Maybe we will see you there Friday night.

OH MY GOODNESS.....SINGLE DIGITS TILL THE CRUISE!!! :Pinkbounc  :cheer2: :cool1:

Woo hoo! We fly out one week from today! :teeth: I can't believe how quickly this last couple of weeks has gone by. ;)

For what it's worth, DH has decided to leave the tux home and wear a suit so he's dressed more like DS9 and the other men in our traveling group. :goodvibes Good thing, too, because I pretty much have that space in the suitcase accounted for anyway...

Savefam,

Glad to hear you are staying near us. Look for us by the pool Friday night. DD & DS will love to have a friend.

thanks for the info about the tux. DH is sticking with the suit. I told him he needs to wear it semiformal night too. If he realizes he can wear a jacket on SF night there will be no getting that suit on him.

I bought a true gown and a dress that is long but then cuts up in a V to my knees. I think I'm sticking with the shorter dress so I can get more use out of it. SF night I have a black short halter dress I love

Hello, I was on the Disney Magic 7/1 - 7/8, when Pirartes of the Caribbean 2 premiered. Unfortunately, the opening day pins were not loaded on the ships until 7/6, so we didn't get the chance to buy them.

I tried calling guest services (after the email address they gave me bounced!), but it doesn't look like they can help me, as the pins have been loaded and can't be exported back into the US (just sold to guests onboard).

Can anyone please check if these pins are still available? I'll gladly Paypal you the cost of a few (or even one!).

Thanks!

Hello Everyone-
I have been so busy working late and with this World Cup Soccer taking over DH life, I have just today begun making my list.

I feel so stressed ...pretty sure I'm going to forget something :guilty:
On the other hand only 10 more days til we sail :woohoo:

I have so much to do: buy snorkel gear, go to Disney store to buy t-shirts, finish bag for meet....

does anyone have Shirley's number - I need to order the gift baskets?

Thanks to all of you repeat cruisers for the terrific tips I've learned on this board :cheer2:

3 questions

1) Do you wear your dinner clothes out to the clubs at night? (with late seating we never made it anywhere after dinner).

2) If not what do you where?

3) Is there a club that families can go to (under 18) after 9:00 pm?
