07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

I have some catching up to do. Welcome Aboard to all our new Desperado members and happy belated birthday to you, Beth.

We are a family of four, myself, Beth ( just kidding, but just about eveyone else is Beth, so I didn't want to feel left out), my husband Harry (we're perpetual Jack Benny's, 39) and our 16 year old twin boys, Ian and Harry. Roysbrew, you'll get a glimpse into the future twice with Barb's 12 year olds and our 16 year olds. You may not want to go there. A time machine would be nice.

I'm probably one of the last people in the world to see the original Pirates of the Carribbean, but we watched it last night. Now, I can't wait to see the next one.

You mean I am not the only one in the world who JUST saw the first one??? I was FORCED to sit still on Friday night and watch the original one...I can't believe I waited 3 years to see it.....I really enjoyed it..So much in fact we are going in 2 hours to see the second one...

In case you haven't checked your Private Messages lately, I have sent everyone a note so we are all on the same page for the DIS meet. I've had a great time chatting, thanks everyone!

DIS meet - 3:00 on Saturday (yup, that is in LESS than two weeks) on deck 10 above the Goofy Pool....bring the kids, if you can drag them away for a minute - for my kids, it is helpful to know "someone" when you walk into the lab/clubs...I promised my boys they only had to stay a moment...the bag thing didn't excite them - gotta love preteen boys

Hope everyone's trip to FL goes smoothly and safely....

I think we can switch to a count-down of hours (rather than days) now that we are so close (might make me work on my list faster)

Hi everyone - just got back from movie! Really good! I know where my DH will be everyday on the cruise! I hope you all stayed to the very end of the movie, after all the credits ended - really cute! DD got the word that we had to stay! She was right!

Our movie theater has the movie scheduled so back to back tightly, we weren't given a option to stay till the end. They turned on all the lights and asked us to leave.
But it was a very good movie.....

All my kids promised me they wouldn't see the new one until we were on the ship - we were on the Wonder early in July three years ago when the first one came out. Let me tell you, Jonny and Orlando are awesome in the Walt with a nice drink in hand.....

Hi all,

Boy everyone's been busy this weekend. We're back from a quick trip to Ikea in Atlanta. I've made DH swear not to try to put anything we bought (we bought lots of shelving) together until we are packed. Welcome to all our last minute cruisers. (I've tried (unsucessfully) to get family members to come onboard last minute with some FL discounts.) Oh well, we'll just have to go again some time with them.

For anyone that may be staying at the Radisson at the port (bethipooh I think you are there), look for us friday night by the pool. We have B/G twins who are 4 and we will probably have a drink in hand. Or if we all get to the terminal at 10:30 we can start meeting then too. With 34 groups and counting we can get a head start on the 3:00 pm meet.

Iggeebees do you think you could post an updated list right before you head down? I want to print it off to help remember everyone. Thanks so much.

Hi everyone - hope you had a better weekend than I did. Spent yesterday moving plants around. For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of digging in SoCal's reclaimed desert, let's just say - not fun.

Today when I went outside to get out the big palm (ended up needing my Dad's truck and a logging chain to finally get the sucker out after digging most of the day), I noticed my garage was all wet - yep, hot water heater blew. Then my DW said the master bath shower is dripping - looks like I'm going to be tackling more stuff tomorrow. Fortunately, today was the perfect day for a cold shower after working in the yard.

In short, I'm ready to go.

For those looking to meet up beforehand in the terminal - is there a section of the terminal in which to look?

REAAALLLY looking forward to vacation....I'm hoping next weekend I can actually start thinking about packing.

Anyone staying at the Airport Hyatt the night before?

We'll be at the Radisson hopefully early afternoon, since we are only coming from Savannah on Friday. We decided to stay in Savannah Thursday night and maybe get to find Paula Deen's restaurant.

The plan is to go to Grills Friday night for dinner. And spend it at the pool with drink's in hand.

DH refuses to accept that it is next week that we leave. I do have 3/4 of everything done shopping wise for us, and the DIS bag is DONE!!!!!!

We should get to the Radisson by 6:00 pm (DH gets in to airport at 3:45). We have to drop off the car, so we'll probably grab some overpriced food by the pool. If we are later than 6:00 pm, we will have to pay for the car another day, in which case we can go somewhere else. I found grill's on the web. Has anyone eaten there before. Do you go for the view, food, or both? Any other suggestions?

I barely remember the port, so I can't suggest where to meet before we board. I know there is a spot to check your kids into the club and get your beeper. Maybe near there. Anybody have any thoughts?

Hello Everyone!!! Happy Monday!!! I have had to come to the realization that I am obsessed with our vacation (this board). I went through withdrawls this weekend.... When we were at our marriage retreat this weekend, I was encouraged not to bring my laptop...I felt so disconnected from ya'll. I even tried to sneak in a few moments on my Treo..only got to read 2 messages before I had to go.

We leave in 9 days....I am going to get all our shopping done this week. DH has deadlines with his shows, so he will be working round the clock until we leave. Any suggestions/request for a bag from Southern Cali? Sand, Shells, something specific from Disneyland? Open to any ideas. I have some stuff, but you know, I can always get a bigger bag.

Might be staying in hotel for our 3 days before the cruise. Haven't heard from our friend in Orlando. Maybe I'll see some of you wherever we pick. Want somewhere close to port. DS (2) just climbed on lap and is wanting me to add a pic..here it is

I am hoping we can find it....I know I have been on this diet too long, when my boys watch her show, and yell for me to turn it on, and can't I please please make them something... I have never eaten at Grills before, so I hope its good...
