Well Disney under Bob Iger decided to build a theme park in the Middle East. I wonder how the Disney stock is going react to what’s going on there. Thoughts and prayers for everyone over there.
Disney is not investing a penny in the park, they will only make money thru licensing and paid for services. There seems to be no way for them to lose money on the deal, as it stands today:
- Developer: Miral Group is financing, building, and operating the park on Yas Island.
- Role of Disney: Disney will license its intellectual property (IP), provide design services, and receive royalties once the park is operational.
- Total Project Cost: The resort development is estimated to cost over $10 billion.
ETA: that's not to say DIS stock won't be impacted by the war, I would assume there will be some cuts to travel forecasts that could send the stock down a bit.
