07/22/2006 - The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados!

Hi all! Still trying to fill our bag here in Conn.- anyone else having trouble thinking of things that represent their state? We have a few things and have ideas for a few more -I thought maybe something from Foxwoods, but doubt we can get there before we sail ! I'm originally from NH- I could easily fill a bag from there! I'm sure I will find things now that I am out of school, but I don't want to disappoint a fellow DIS with a BORING bag and time is running out :hourglass LOL! :confused3

I too am not doing well on my bag. But like Barb says, let's not stress over it. We have plenty of other things to be stressed out about. Whatever is in the bag will be fine.

Yeah, I have hit a small impass on the bag too....I have a few ideas, I just have to go out and find them...I live in fear of one of you guys finding my bag boring...

Of course, here in NC I could always fill it with cotton balls for the cotton grown here..lol

And we are almost 2 hours from the beach, so no shells...hmmm.....

there's six flags! haha. uconn, hartford teams, my boyfriend went to trinity college in hartford, katherine hepburn is from connecticut, so is mark twain (who lived in hartford), the oldest newspaper in the us (the hartford courant). the problem is there is a lot of stuff on the shore, not so much near hartford...

Hi All! Well we got our doc's I guess on Monday. Came home last night to find them totally soaked on our front porch! UPS usually puts everything by the door - well if they did that they would have been fine, but they were left out where they were rained on! They were in a plastic bubble bag, but the rain went through that! So today I called, and they're sending me a new set!! :dance3:
Hope everyone had a good 4th! Can't believe we'll be down in WDW at this time in 2 weeks! We have so much to do before then!
We're having fun filling up our bag.
DMIL got her jazzy :moped: on Monday - sure is a great thing! Now she can zip around the house! Her one leg has little strength, so this is great!
I've got to start making my lists!

Bethipooh,

I will be watching for you. I guess that van description fits too many vehicles. How about 4 people with very big grins inside? :drive: :jumping1:

I am so glad we are getting some time in the parks. We did not go at all in 2005 and I am in Disney withdrawal. There are so many new things to see. But it will be hot so I told my family I am going to drive them from bed in the morning, go to the parks, come back for the afternoon at the pool (or a nap for me) and then back to the parks in the evening.

MK is open until 3 am the night before the cruise! So we will be sleepy people arriving at the port. :hippie: pixiedust:

I can't wait to meet you all in person.

I asked my family if we could decorate the van for the trip....

They all looked at me like I was insane... :earseek:

These aren't special for the cruise, they are the everyday wear. We also have the Disney character sun visor for each car. Really makes it easy to find it in the parking lot. :artist:

wow, why is it open so late the night before we leave? that's probably where we'll be the night before too!

Bethipooh - too bad we're not driving down - :drive: you'd be able to spot our silver Honda Minivan (there's only about 50,000 out there!) ....My DD put a DIS green mickey antenna topper on ours! She even wrote DIS on it!
BTW - it wasn't me who didn't want to stop for you in April - the pilot just wouldn't cooperate!!

Well, if you're looking for suggestions....I'm always up for some real "sweet tea" :drinking1 and a ham biscuit from Hardees. :rotfl2: When I went "home" to visit last Oct. (hadn't been there in 15 years), that was the first thing I did...sweet tea and a Hardees biscuit. mmmmmmm yummy. ooooh and it comes in it's own brown bag. Guess it would make the bag a little greasy though huh? :lmao:

So excited, just won some new luggage on ebay. :woohoo: We leave Friday to go on a weekend marriage retreat...but part of the fun is that we have about 8 couples who are going to go to the late late showing of the new Pirates. pirate: So excited!!!!

I have Pooh floor mats, and various disney antenna balls, depending on my mood. But thats about it. I may have to make a magnet of some sort for the car telling the world(ok I-95 who I am) :rotfl2:

Those pesky pilots...whats one small little stop for me?

Well, the tea I could manage, actually my DS thinks the sweet tea at McDonalds is better then Hardee's, the biscuit might be a little yucky after 3 days....

Hard to believe we leave 2 weeks from today.... :Pinkbounc

MK is open until midnight for regular guests, then with EMH, it's open until 3 AM. My DW and I will be rolling until 3 AM, just as we are going to keep it rolling until midnight at Epcot the 20th and 1 AM at MGM on the 19th!

Thankfully, we have the Couple's Choice spa villa treatment on Monday to massage and bathe out all that intense park time.

Wow....I will be sleeping peacefully while you guys close down the park...lol

No parks for us this time, but we are planning a trip to WDW at Christmas time to see all the parks decorated. So I will have that to get me through the coming months.

Any chance we can get you to change the name of the thread to the:

The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados" :rotfl2:

Seeing I gave up control of this thread many moons ago, I would be happy to rename this thread. Goodness knows the inside joke of a title lost its meaning over a year ago. Sadly, I do not see a button on my side that lets me rename a thread of mine.

I'm sorry....we didn't mean to take over.....

No worries! You've done more than I would ever think of doing. :teeth:

BTW, your wish is my command in regards to the title.

welcome HeelMD, we live here in Goldsboro, NC.

One of the couples who are going with us was on one of the cruises last year diverted to Costa Maya, and they loved it there. The only drawback to Costa Maya is that if you visit there, you can not donate blood for a year after your visit.(not sure if that has changed recently or not)

I am looking forward to the different ports(only have been to Nassau) and the 2 stops at CC. That was the biggest draw to this cruise, we have been to Key West before, but we adore CC. 2 stops at CC sounds heavenly. PLUS being on the Magic for the first time ever.
Castaway here we come!!
Thanks for this information! We may need to donate blood for a niece, so I appreciated the heads up. I am loving this thread! Just started reading today from the beginning. Can't wait til July 22!

Welcome to the DIS and welcome to our cruise meet....

We are a really great bunch to get to know!!!

It has been so much fun typing with everyone these last 400-500+ days!!!

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!!!

A BIG THANKS to TDSRYAN FOR THE NAME CHANGE ON THE THREAD TITLE  :cheer2: :thumbsup2

Ps...thanks tdsryan, I was afraid you were upset..the closer it gets, well, my family told me I am getting cruise obnoxious.. :confused3... not me.... :confused3

So, I finally get back from to Dis-boards to see "The Oh-Seven Double-Deuce Double Dip Desperados" for the thread title....to think I WAS joking. :cool1:

Thanks, tdsryan! You'll have to fill us in on the inside joke of "might as well" at the meet.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th. We finally got the boys taken care of for formal night. Our lists are made, and our family is using my nephew's B-Day party this weekend to make sure we have our schedule straight for the week.

2 more weeks!!
