06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

Musicgirl- thanks for the pixie dust!
Jillpie- way to go!
Jcjtwise- 2 pounds so far is great! :cool1:
So far my cruise, my stay at Pop after the cruise and our 10 day park hopper non expiration tickets are paid in full! I wanted to pay for Pop before the cruise, but they won't let me as I booked on line. Last time I do that! :furious: Can you believe Disney won't take my money now? :confused3 Oh well, at least it feels good to have most everything paid off before we leave!

If you have a credit card you could make a payment on the card to drive it negative, then put the charges on it. That way you could have it paid in advance, and a bonus -- you get any points or other rewards that accumulate with charges to the card.

I would love to hear from others who will be on this cruise!

Other than CrazyMomma's post on the Summer 2006 thread, I couldn't find anyone else mentioning this cruise, so I figured I would start it out.

We have been wanting to take a Disney cruise for a long time. Once I saw the 2 CC itinerary, I couldn't resist any longer! It will be hard to wait so long, but at least it will give us more time to save up our pennies. I'll just have to keep reading all the great posts and live vicariously through everyone else until our turn!

Thanks Everyone!

Dan.
HI DAN I AM A GIRL BUT DONT WORRIE I HAVE A BRO. WHO IS 10 YEARS OLD MY MOM IS CRAZY ABOUT MICKEY.HIS USER NAME HAS SOMETHING WITH GOKU IN IT.:cool1:

Found us on page 2. Can't have that! Doingitagain- I hadn't thought about paying ahead. That's a good idea!
DDD's- I weighed today and remained the same. Not a good week, but not bad since I didn't gain!Let's get on track!

Hi Taylor, are you on this cruise? Unfortunately, Dan had to cancel his trip a few months ago. I think someone started a kids thread for this cruise, but I'm not sure if it is being used.

Just got back from 5 day sin Florida visiting my mom in Vero Beach. It was quite the tease to fly into Orlando and not get on the Ship! My DD was so excited just to see the disney buses!
I'm getting worried about the David and ivan tour. Do you think it will be too hot for my 65 yr old mother in law? She alwyas wears long pant and sleeves inthe sun? I hope it's not too much for her.
snorkeling: Has anyone read about how the snorkeling is now in Coz? Should we go in CM insteaad?

We have 37 days of school left here! So jealous of you guys!
DDD I've lost 5 lbs! 10 to go!

Happy Sunday and :wizard: to All!
Wendy :)

I don't know if you all saw the thread on the dock at Coz on the main board, but 1 of them is suppose to be open in June.

It would be sooooo awesome to dock there, but there are 2 Carnival ships also in port. And since Disney is not as frequent a visitor as Carnival, we probably won't get to.

But maybe who knows?????

Wendy, we'll try not do our happy dances too much when we are done with school. But it does sound like you had a nice trip!!!

Hi all, we made a decision - we are going with you :cheer2: :cheer2:
We have cabin 7572, and are celebrating our 5 yr anniversary.

This is our first cruise and I can hardly wait. I've read/skimmed about 30 pages in this thread :)

Is anyone bringing a toddler? DS will turn 2 on 6/16.

RCBA- :welcome: ABOARD!!!!!!!!! It feels good to be going! We can't wait ourselves. My husband and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary. And will be in 6092. Will be sailing in no time! :sail:

Yahoo RCBA !!!!!! we've snared another one!!!!!! :cheer2:

Some important details.... you will be joining a number of us celebrating anniversaries.
ours is 6-20 (19 years) and b-days-Tinky

There are a bunch of teachers, are either one of you teachers????

If you need any info on excursions, just ask since we've all been planning for a while.

If you are interested in a door magnet, just pm me with the details. Check out p. 57 and 58 for pictures.
I can also use the picture that Carole had on hers.

Have a great time planning and get ready to party!! party:

Welcome aboard RCBA! :grouphug:
Wendilyn- 5 pounds?   Keep up the good work!
Musicgirl-I notice that DCL is supposed to be the earliest in port at Cozumel and scheduled to stay the latest. I wonder if they will let us dock in order to insure a later departure ( and more tourist $ for them)? :confused3 Let's hope they think that way! ::yes::
20 days of school and counting. If I can get through the 3 field trips, field day and 9 IEP meetings in the next 2 weeks, it will be a breeze the last 2 weeks!

There is more than one dock in Cozumel. The one coming on line again in June is the Punta Langosta Pier, where DCL docks. The other two ships in Cozumel that day are Carnival. Carnival owns the Puerta Maya Pier and that is where their ships generally dock. So DCL may be the only ship at the Punta Langosta Pier on June 28...so our chances of staying late into the evening and not having to tender are getting better!

That would be soooooo awesome!!! That is great info about the docks!!!

I called DCL this morning, when I mentioned the info about the docks, the CM said they didn't know if we would be at that dock or not. My guess is that she really had not heard about it!!

You know, disers are the 1st to know!!!! ;)

I read on another thread that the captain has made comments about the DIS boards. So, perhaps he will read about the dock situation through our board and know he can go there. :rotfl2:

Marie, I just sent a pm to you. I'm trying to send the picture of the magnet with the names on it, so let me know if the picture came through!!!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone!

MusicGirl- we are not teachers, my DSIL is though :)

I wish we could find out Pirates night in advance. I booked DS in Flounders on Costa Maya night. I don't want him to miss Pirate night! We got 8pm dining & are waitlisted for early dining. If we can't get it changed we will just have to feed DS before going to dinner.

I'm searching for toddler friendly excursions right now.

I want to go shopping for cruise wear already. Q for the veterans, do most people really dress very casual while on the ship? Most posts I have read talk about shorts & t's or swim coverups. I don't want to stick out like a sore thumb.

It very likely will be on Wednesday night when we are in Cozumel. If not, then Tuesday night after we leave Costa Maya.

RCBA

Yes, people dress casually on the ship. During the day, most people walk around in bathing suits. I even heard some people pack their bathing suits/cover ups and then what they are going to wear for dinner.

Personally, I only dress in my bathing suit when necessary!!

Unfortunately, it is too soon to tell about pirate night. Our best bet will be to wait for the May 27 double dip cruise because they should have the same schedule.

Well, if you are looking for something easy on Costa Maya day, there is a pretty good size group of disers going to Maj. Beach. It is only a few min. ride and looks beautiful!!! We are going just to have a day at the beach and rent wave runners and kayaks. You are more than welcome to join us!!

That's what I had figured based upon other posts. It's going to be hard to wait patiently until the May double dippers get back to find out more :) If Pirate night ends up being CM night I'll just get DS out of Flounders early.

ETA: I wont be one walking around in my swim suit either - that's for sure :rotfl2: I still have some baby weight to lose.

I'll run the CM beach thing by DH. I would love to rent a waverunner. We looked at the CC rentals but he had no interest in a guided tour.

RCBA, if you don't get early seating, as you said you can always feed him early and then bring him to dinner. There is room service and then Plutos (did the name change recently) that has chicken fingers/hamburgers/pizza kind of food.
If he ends up napping at dinner, that will just recharge him for Pirate night!!!
