06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

I called DCL for something today and asked about Cozumel. She said that as far as she could tell, we are still scheduled to stay in Cozumel until 11:00.

Beth...I wear extra cool long pants and sleeves from travel smith when out on a tour like that....just had my 2nd skin cancer surgery, need to protect my skin when out touring like that...I tend to forget to re apply sunscreen as often as necessary.

Carole88 - yes my DDs and your DDs have been emailing each other. I think they have slowed down since school has picked back up but I am sure they will talk more as we get closer. We can definitely meet at the pool. We might not get to the pool right at 2 but we will try :thumbsup2 (we arrive in MCO at 11:30).

I am glad to hear that the Xcaret Eco Tour was good. I was really debating between this and the Fury Catamaran tour.

I am also concerned about the attire for the Ruin tour. I know it is going to be hot so I am not really looking to wear long sleeves or long pants. Has anyone taken this tour during the summer? Can you wear light clothing and use good bug spray?

Glad to see we past 1000 posts :cheer2: looking for 2000 :woohoo:

Sujo - Glad to hear that my girls have been emailing your DDs. If they hadn't I was going to get on their back. If 2:00 is too early for the radisson pool, just let me know. Hopefully we can get a time that works for everyone. We arrive very early Friday morning (taking Thursday night Redeye out of Vegas) so we are very flexible. I don't know what the Xcaret Eco Tour is like but I have done the Fury Catamaran. The Fury was definately our favorite excursion. We had such a blast. The only snag we ran into with it was that we were late getting back to the ship and had to rush to get to dinner. I don't think that would be a problem now since I believe the excursion is now earlier in the day. Sounds like whichever excursion you choose will be great.

Doingitagain - That's really interesting about the information DCL gave you about Cozumel. The Disney website says that the ship leaves at 5:30. I wonder which one is correct.

On the Disney website, it is showing the Cozumel itinerary for every cruise. I know the ones they are doing now do leave at 5:30 because they don't want to tender after dark. I am hoping that we are still leaving at 11:00 pm because I read somewhere that there is one dock available and that the Magic is the only ship at Cozumel that day (that would be great for crowd reduction!).

RCBA-TAKE THE PLUNGE AND JOIN US!!!! What's stopping you?

I should have a firm decision by this weekend. If I could pay just the deposit right now and them move it if necessary I would book in a hearbeat. I am assuming that pmt is due in full since the cruise leaves in just under 2 mo's. If I'm wrong, someone please let me know :)

Carole, 2 pm at the Radisson pool sounds good to me. We arrive at MCO around 11 am. Can't wait to meet everyone!

Shirley

I started that in another reply. I wear the long super cool pants and shirts from travel smith to keep sun off....not bugs.( and a big whoppin hat)

I just had 2nd skin cancer surgery, and have to be really careful when out in that kind of sun. I always seem to miss a spot with my sunscreen :)

Glad to be back, I have been out on training (fun) :cheer2:
I have a question abou been upgraded (as if ) do they always call before doing it or do they just do it?

Hello EVERYONE!!! :woohoo:

DDD not doing sooooo great I have had lots of events (birthday parties, baptism, communions, etc.) I need some will power?

Minnie7701 Yes DCL will call you befor you go and let you know of any upgade availabilites. If you go back to page 67 our reply might help you. Hope you get upgraded. :thumbsup2

Musicgirl- We saw where you updated us to your list. Thanks :yay:
Will you let us know when and where there will be a
DIS meet? :Pinkbounc Were both really getting excited! party:

Minnie7701 hang in there. We DDD's have to stick with and support each other. I had a great first 2 weeks(-9.5), but this week has not been so good. We can both get back on track and do it
We will try to make the meet at the Radisson pool at 2:00, but DD is going to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique that morning (11:50) ( and then wants to swim and there goes the hair style :confused3 ) We will try to change the BBB to earlier so we can get to the Radisson by 2:00.
Disgal1- thanks for explaining the long pants. I should have figured it out as my dad has had several skin cancers removed and never goes out without long pants and a hat.

RCBA, you might want to check with DCL on when your payment would be due. All of our had to be paid by April 20th or something like that. But I know the full payment date is already past.

You might just be able to wait until you can pay for the entire trip, but be careful, DCL generally goes up the closer you get to the cruise. I believe our cruise is close to $900 difference from when we booked.

Good luck on your decision!!! I hope you get to join us.

Hi everyone,
I had the greatest dream ever! I dreamt that the time between now and our cruise simply disappeared and we were on the cruise ship just having boarded! I dreamt that I couldn't understand where the time went. Very funny dream, but HEY WE WERE ON THE MAGIC! :cool1: It was a weird feeling, we had just boarded, and I simply couldn't understand where the time went. It was like I went to sleep and woke up standing on deck 10! :confused3

I haven't been doing well with the DDD! But I like bairdbeth's attitude of getting back on track. I know the time will fly, student teaching is going by so fast and we will be on the ship before you know it, so I have to buckle down!

On a side note. My DD was pretty nervous about doing the submarine in Coz. But they were watching some inspector gadget show and they had it on there. they were SO excited! Now she wants to go and I am really looking forward to this family experience. :goodvibes I just hope she doesn't freak out! I already told her I would get her a little flashlight so she feels safe.

I am starting to send out resumes. This is a very nerve wracking time. If anyone has any spare pixie dust to send my way, I would appreciate it. I really want to have my own classroom next year. The job market is so tight right now. ***sigh*** hopefully all will work out!

BairdBeth - I just read about the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique in the All Ears Newsletter and thought it sounded so cool. So I called and booked a reservation for when we are up in Orlando after the cruise. I am so excited

I also haven't been doing well on the DDD. I have been eating out a lot but I will keep trying.

Can anyone tell me if the Fury Catamaran excursion would go well with a DD that is 8 and a DD that is 12? They love to put on masks and look for the fish when we go to Florida so I think the snorkel thing would be fine. Just wondered if the crowd was much older that goes on this.

Thanks,
Susan

Sujo - We went on the Fury Catamaran when my girls were 6 and 9. We had a fantastic time. There were many families on the excursion with kids of all ages.

I just change our BBB reservation to 10:30. This should give us time to get her picture taken by Disney afterwards and time to grab a bite at Earl of Sandwich (I have read good things about this place) and make the Radisson pool by 2:00 or so. (DD can't wait to meet SuJo's DD and Carole88's DD!)I have to get the picture as she will hit the pool as soon as we get to the Radisson and ruin the hair, but at least we can enjoy it for a couple of hours. This was the only time we could fit it in, Oh well! :confused3
DDD's - I had a chocolate attack today. It is sooo hard to stay on track! Next week I start walking. Got to get ready for the Parks and walking around the ship!
21 days of school left! But please send me pixie dust to get through next week! I am taking my class(5 and 6 year old special needs) to a pizza buffet on Tuesday, the circus on Wednesday, doing 3 IEP meetings on Thursday and having Field Day on Friday!

I did not lose any lbs last week, but have lost 2 already this week. Everyone hang in there and do your best.

:yay:

DDD's, I've lost 7 lbs in the last 3 weeks :thumbsup2 . But I've worked really hard, still going to the gym every night with aerobics and added an extra hour of walking every day. We'll get there! Just about 10 more to go.

BB-I'm definitely sending you some pixie dust!!! pixiedust: pixiedust:

We've got 26 days left, but 2 of them don't count!! 1 day is Fun Fair and the other is a day where Bill and I will be on our way to Hershey Park with 85 of our favorite teens. It's still work, but at least I'm not teaching!!

I hope you all have as beautiful weather as I do. It's so sunny and everything is sooooo green and the flowers have bloomed. It's almost perfect!!
