06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

FantasiaMM - That sounds like a great plan...paint chips on a stick....How about everyone?????

Lorie,
Those are some great looking pictures! My favorites are #2 and #3! I especially love #2. I will have to search out that photo op when we are there!!!

Ok, so here's what you need to let me know if you want a magnet. Send me a pm so I won't have to try to find the thread.

1-what size? 8 x 10, 5 x 7, 4 x 6

2-which picture?

3-Do you want it to be a memo board as I had shown or just the full size of the photo pocket?

4-I'll put the words Double Dippers-June 24, 2006 on it. Or whatever else you would like.

5-What color for #4? Lime Green???? or something else

6-do you want your names on it? Just the last names or just the first names or both?

7-Do you want a lime green frame?

8-Do you want any decorations? palm trees, mickey head, sandals, sun, flowers, sunglasses.

9-What color(s) for #8 pink, lime green, orange, blue, yellow

Did I miss anything??????

For the lucky ones. I have a question. For the first time cruiser our first day to make reservations will be 4/10/2006. Does that mean I can log on at midnight on Monday 12am????? :surfweb:

Thanks!

Minnie-you can log on at 3am. Yes, I know inconvenient.

If any first timers want to know if something is available like what times are still available for Palo on Mon., just let me know and I will check!!!

Hints: Make sure on Sun. that you can bring up your reservation. Also, check the reservation indicates a $0 balance. I have heard that every once in a while when port charges change, they will add this and then you won't be able to process ressies.

Good Luck-I'm actually going to get up to see if they add any brunches at the 75 day mark.

I just wanted to share some Coz. info with everyone.

In a recent thread that announced DCL returning to Coz., it mentioned that the on board time was being listed as 5:30pm. Most people who replied kind of blew it off because their documents still said 10pm or later.

I decided to check out our itinerary. It now says 5:30pm. I called DCL. At first the CM said that is was still listed as 11. When I told her of the conflict, she looked into it further. Here is her answer.

The people doing the tendering are not giving them a time for when they are ending the tenders for the day. It could be as early as 5:30 or as late at 10:30pm.

How's that for narrowing down the details!!!! Obviously, DCL has no control over this, but this may really change some plans.

I had just gotten off the phone with DCL when I checked this thread! I had called with the same issue because my teens are on the evening Fury Teen Cruise at 6:00, which can't happen if they end tenders at 5:30. She told me that it was a "glitch" with the Internet and that they are still working on when the tenders will be. They are first starting back to Cozumel and they haven't worked it all out yet. I hope they work it out by June since the docks won't be ready and they will still be using tenders. She said not to worry, that they will work it out and us know if there is an issue ("don't worry, be happy"??). She said to check back in a few days.

Hmmm, that does potentially change a lot of things for us! I was really hoping that we could see the ship at night all lit up from shore. Where did you find the itinerary? I don't remember the times we can go ashore and when we have to be back on shore.

How do they get everyone back on the ship on CC? Do they make an announcement, or do people just "know". I know I won't have a watch, I will want to just relax. (well, the second day, first day we have excursions!) :woohoo:

Don't worry, the Navigators will make it very clear when you need to be back on board each day.

Online, if you re-print a confirmation it will have times for you. However, the online reservation system isn't working again. So, you can go to "special cruises" and click on the 7 night special Costa Maya cruise.

Lorie, maybe we should wait to email Chellie now, given doingitagain's conversation with DCL (thanks for that btw) about our excursion? Maybe they'll have things ironed out and we can actually stay with an afternoon time.

PrincessVija, make sure you wear a watch, whatever you do! You don't want to miss the time to make it back to the ship, wherever we are. The navigators say when we need to come back and I believe the ship sounds a horn (I can't remember). But you want enough time to get your stuff together and make an all important stop at CC's gift shop on the way back :thumbsup2 .

Ugghhhh, a WATCH????? :hourglass , can't I just follow the masses? :clown:

OK, OK... I guess I will have to have one. maybe I can do the question, instead of "Can you hear me now?" I can just ask everyone..."Is it time to board now?" :hyper2: I am SURE people would be very helpful and wouldn't get irritated in the least!!! :lmao:

Note to Lorie... another video segment... Princess Vija getting her butt kicked by multiple cruisers... :furious: :rotfl2:

Okay guys, I'm trying to add a picture of my door magnet. Hope it works.

Carole that is awesome. If I could get the picture somewhere I'm sure I could do that picture on the memo board. Of course, dh would have to figure that out!!!

Princess, I'll add it to the list!!!

Absolutely follow up with DCL on Coz time. Just a word of caution, the CM that I talked to said that she had recieved a number of calls about this so she was glad that she talked to the supervisor about the time difference. My call was the 1st one that she asked the supervisor. According to the supervisor it is not a glitch.

Question to the CM I talked to-If others had called, why didn't you ask the supervisor when they called????????

Sometimes I don't think all the CMs have all the information correct, so please make sure you keep on eye on it.

Personally, I'm not going to plan anything in the evening.

There was another thread on the main board saying that the Teen Fury had been taken off until further notice. ?????? :confused3

Based on these updates, I'm definitely sticking with our mini-golf plan. I hope we will have time to hang on the beach too.

I know this is not good news for those that had excursions for ruin tours and scuba trips.

Guess this does leave everyone stuck with last minute planning.

B.B.

Hey, guess what? I just realized that the day we sail, is my DS's Name Day. WHAT is a Name Day you ask??? Well, below is a quick description, but essentially it is a tradition that is celebrated in some European countries and it is a day that is treated like a birthday. So, DS gets to celebrate it with Mickey, how cool is that? We use his middle name as that is a latvian name. I think I may have to contact Shirley for Mickey to surprise him as well. We'll see.

BY the way... MY name day was April 5th! I got a dozen beautiful white roses from DH! :thumbsup2

It is an old European tradition. Every day of the year is someone's Name Day. People all across Europe have been celebrating their first names for centuries in the same way you celebrate your birthday.

Europeans not only have birthdays, but Name Day as well. Birthdays are usually celebrated just in immediate family. Name Days, however are widely known and celebrated.
Each first name is assigned to one day of the calendar, based on religious traditions, historical events, birthday of a famous person who had the same first name, or on other facts.
For example, the church feast of Saint Michael is held on September 29th, and as a result the Name Day for Michael is on September 29th. In some countries (Greece) Name day is more important than birthday. Gifts include flowers, chocolate, bottle of good wine etc.
