06/24/2006 - Special Western Cruise - Who Else!?

My family and I are going on the Cruise. I'll be 13 turning 14 during the cruise and my DB will be 9 almost 10.

Welcome Eeyore! I saw that you have a thread started for the teens on this cruise. I'll tell my ds-15 about it. Unfortunately, since I am on this board frequently, he just groans when I talk about it!!! ;)

Susan, I know what you mean by being out of the loop. I had about 5 min the other day on my sister's computer.

In regards to the classes, you can look on recent navigators to see what is available. Of course, everything is subject to change, but you will at least have a good idea. Once you get your 1st navigator, look over it carefully to see what you might want to do.

I saw the recent Coz info. Someone mentioned some DCL times being changed to earlier ones, but no one mentioned the teen excursion that starts at 6pm. I wonder if DCL will end up cancelling this.

Marie-I know what you mean about the number of posts on the May DD. It is amazing!! I do think this became a very popular time to cruise among the disers since it is before school is out (cheaper) and that it is the 1st official dd.

But LET"S GO PEOPLE!!! :teeth: Let's hear all about your plans!
Maybe if people want to summarize what they are doing, like a mini itineray, they could mark it with these :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
then people could see who was doing what, that is if you want to, I'll start!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Hi everyone!

I have been delinquent and not posting because I wasn't DDD'ing! I am finally back on track and feel great. I am so happy. I started reading Dr. Phil's book again and it makes so much sense to me. I am really going to work hard at eating healthier and exercising. I get so hung up on losing weight and the numbers on the scale. I am considering just working on healthy ways and not weighing myself. We will see. right now I am so happy. I exercised this morning and didn't snack between meals. :cool1:

congrats to everyone that is working super hard! and congrats on the weight loss.

When do you guys think formal night will be? Do you think it will be on Monday? If we want lumier's (sp?) would the dining rotation then be APL? I just want to make the request soon.

Well... we better get to posting! I haven't heard much on the Tulum ruins. Are you taking it through Disney? I read on another thread from those who just came back from Cozumel that Disney changed all( or most) of their excursions to an early morning start time. It sounds like they tenders stop at dusk. Of course things may change by June. We just plan on mini golf, so that way we won't be rushed to get on the first tender or rush to catch the last one!

Have you heard anything about the mini-golf course? That is our plan too, I'm just not sure about the shape of the course since the hurricane, have they been able to "rebuild" and reopen?

Here are our plans...
June 19 arrive at Pop, Water park in the afternoon
June 20,21,22- doing the parks with a lunch at Akershus and a breakfast at Chef Mickey's
June 23- check out of Pop do Downtown Disney and Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique,
check into the Radisson
June 24 Magic!!!! Try to make the Dis meet!
June 25- CC and Stingrays!
June 27- Costa Maya ruins tour with Ivan
June 28- Cozumel mini golf

I plan to relax and take in all the shows and some art of entertaining, towel folding, margarita tasting and whatever else cathes my fancy.
July 1- disembark :sad1: then head back to Pop
July 2,3,4 doing the parks!
July 5- head home :sad1:

:sad1: :sad2: :( I am the bearer of bad news. We had to back out of our curise. Something came up near the end of June that could not be avoided. On a happy note though we are booking a 10 day Disney World trip in place of the cruise. :cool1:   :woohoo: and will hopefully take a 7 day Cruise some time after the Magic gets back from Spain. Hope everyone enjoys their cruise and that you have calm seas and perfect weather.

Yes, the tour is through Disney. I looked at another post and saw the Tulum Ruins was the first excursion to leave last week. We have to take a long ferry ride and it is a full day excursion. We supposedly don't get back until 5 and we have 6:00 Palo reservation. We have generally done DCL excursions because we know they are pre-screened and monitored and we know that the ship will wait if we are late coming back.

FantasiaMM I haven't heard anything about mini golf, so I hope it is open! SPJammer- we will miss you, but enjoy 10 days in the world!
Doingitagain- I would definetly do a DCL excursion in Cozumel if we were doing one. With the change in leaving I would want to be assured DCL would wait for us!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Mini-itineraries (Great idea Lorie!)

Beth, DS (13) and Mom
6/23 Driving into to Cocoa Beach
6/24  Time to sail-boarding to enjoy lunch. Dismeet on deck 10 at
4:30.
Early dinner seating.
CC #1 Bottom fishing (1:00) - myself and DS.
CM -- Joining the Disers Beach party. :sunny:
Coz -- Planning mini golf. If time allows, maybe a visit to the beach.
CC #2 Parasailing (3:30) myself and DS -- DS may sign up for second Wild Side if avail.

I'm looking forward to the wine, beer, magarita, martini tastings!
I have my fingers crossed that we will get to see the movie premiere of Pirates II while onboard! pirate:

If it is the same as the Western that just returned, I think it will be Monday. If you want Lumiere's for formal night, based on that navigator, you would have APL but you would have the 5:30 dinner each night. That is a bit early for us--we are requesting 6:00 and will probably be stuck in Parrot Cay for formal night and semi-formal night, but I would rather do that than have a 5:30 dinner seating.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Marie, Tim, Beth (17) and Michael (15) :grouphug:
•Flying in June 18 and staying at SSR
•June 18-23 WDW (need to plan for that yet!)
•Saturday – DCL Embarkation! :cool1: DIS meet at 4:30; requested 6:00 dining
•Sunday CC – DD and DS on Teen Wild Side (perhaps our first adult venture to Serenity Bay? DIS meet?); entire family parasailing :tink:
•Monday – Palo Brunch at 11:00
•Tuesday CM – Dune Buggy Exploration through DCL :moped:
•Wednesday – Tulum Ruins through DCL; Palo Dinner (yes I know, it might be Pirates night pirate: but we have been to a few of those already) while teens are on Teen Fury Cruise (if they have it)
•Friday CC – Personal Watercraft Eco Tour (no video cameras, Lorie! :rotfl2: ); Banana Boat Ride
•Other activities – anyone for Bingo? Reading on Deck 4; Lounging on the verandah; some of the shows (this is our fifth cruise and some of them lose their “magic” after a few times); Art of Entertaining series (last time DD brought teen friends to our suite to “practice” towel folding, had to get the stateroom host to supply more towels)

I guess I am lost with the different times for seating. I thought DCL stopped the staggered meals. :confused3

Princess, they are staggering the seatings. If you have the main seating, you could have a seating at 5:30, 5:45 or 6. (I believe I got that right, correct me if I'm wrong!)

Marie-I know what you mean about the shows losing a bit of magic. I don't think we'll go to see the Golden Mickeys or the 1st Variety show. As much as I enjoy Disney Dreams, that may get skipped as well if I'm busy having too much fun!!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I loved your story about the towel animals!!! Very cute!!!

Marie, you just took all my fun away, no videos, darn!!! How about a personal video of the parasailing? I may venture into bingo this time. I'm afraid I may get hooked on it though and I'm not very lucky. Is there a DCL cruise prize????

SPJammer, sorry to hear about your change in plans. I hope you have fun on your trips.

musicgirl, thanks for the info. What time do the characters come out for pics at night. I would want to have a pic from formal night for sure. Would a 5:30 seating make that still possible?

The pictures will be available like the shows. Those who have early seating will mainly go after dinner. However, if you may be able to squeeze it in before if you are ready by whatever time they say pictures start.

HI,
Minigolf: I would check cruise critic to see if it's open yet.
Dining: I think the rotation on the double dip will be different then current western, because we are in Coz on Wed and that should be pirate night, not Tuesday.

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Wendy, Dennis, Frank and Pauline, (Dennis' dad and mom) Mike (19), Caley (16) and Shannon (13)
6/23 :Radisson
6/24 dis meet
CM: Ivan's tour
Coz: Paradise or Mr. Sancho's
CC: Adult beach for first time! Kids wildside and teen beach
Late dining hopefully 8pm slot
maragritta and wine tasting
adult pool! :Pinkbounc
Wendy

As far as mini golf, one site listed a tour of it and Mr. Sanchos as "post Wilma- operational" I have emailed the mini golf operation directly and will let everyone know what I find out! Also, I looked on the site that tells you what other ships are in port the same day as you and it only listed the Magic. I wonder if that is right or if I did it wrong? I would think if we happen to be the only ship that we could dock in the one spot availible?

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: and
