:My DH will also be celebrating his 43rd b-day on the cruise. June 2nd...and our 13th wedding anniversary May 27th.
Lots of reasons to celebrate. Should be fun.
:Me, DH, DD who will be one month shy of 12, other DD who will be 9 and twin DS who will be 7, and DUncle for that extra pair of eyes, and ears.
I can see why you are taking the uncle, you have your hands full. I bet there is never a dull moment in you your household. I read through all of the other post on this thread yesterday. There is not a lot of traffic on this thread yet, but it seems like several of the people who posted have kids in the 11-12 year old range. That's great, my daughter should be able to find someone to hang out with.
:None of our kids know we are going... Our girls think we are just going to Disney Land...which we are for three days prior to sailing.
We will not tell any of them till we pull up to the pier.
I love pulling these kind of surprises on my daughter. We did that for her first trip to WDW several years ago. But we could not pull it off this time. We started planning a cruise for my parents anniversary a couple of years ago. The first plan was to actually go towards the end of Summer 2007, since that was closer to their anniversary and we were going to go to Alaska. I was supposed to do the planning, but my SIL was being kind of negative about going to Alaska, so I dragged my feet. Then my brother changed jobs and could not go this year any way, because of vacation time. I finally started pulling stuff together and got some quotes on Alaska and we all had agreed on dates, but I could tell my SIL was still not thrilled with the idea. She wanted to go some where warm and I was refusing to go to the Caribbean again. Then just when I was getting ready to book the Alaska cruise, my daughter saw in a magazine that Disney was doing the MR. I had been wanting to do a
Disney cruise, but had written them off because of the Carribean, so I called the family, it made everyone happy and I booked the next day. So, since my daughter found the information, it was kind of hard to surprise her with the cruise.
:In fact I just bought/gave him the new passporters field guide today.
What is passporters? Is it a guide to the cruise or the area or what?
I also have questions about the theme dinner. My daughter is busy planning out her clothes. Do most people dress up for the pirate theme night or not? My daughter probably will and I would kind of like to, but I have to convince my husband. Since there are a lot of good pirate costumes available for halloween right now, I thought this would be a great time to get something. But I do not want to waste my money if not many people dress up.
Thank you for putting up with my questions. I am sure I am going to have a lot more before June gets here.
Have a great day!
