Did anyone stay at the Hilton Diagnol Mar for a prestay? If so, how was it? When do you get picked up from the hotel to go to the port?

Thanks!

I'm staying there too! You can check out the following blogs as these DISers stayed at the Hilton!

Breighton's Journey

Deb's Digest

Looks like DCL included the breakfast package. The rooms looked nice. There was a picture in Deb's blog!

Anyone stay at Husa Illa? We're booked for one night pre cruise and there isn't much on the web about it (although it is Disney recommended). Did all the Disney recommended hotels come with breakfast?

Thanks.

The tipping in Europe is optional. Most of the time the local just round up to the nearest Euro. If you want to add something extra for exceptional service you can but it is not expected. On the ship I bet it is the same as in the states.
Is anyone on the 6/27/07 med cruise? I have son 12, daughters 13, 15 and I would love to have them meet some other kids before we go. Thanks to everyone who has posted stuff!! All so helpful
LLH:headache:  :goodvibes

They do not tip as much in Europe as we do. For the taxi, they add 1 Euro for each bag you have. From the airport to the port area it is 20 Euros plus bags.

Everyone who had a problem with the credit cards had to go to Guest Services and get a new imprint taken. Most were not asked for cards at the port.

If you fly through another EU country, you don't go through customs in Barcelona but from what I've heard it is easy.

Off to my Palermo excursion!!!

Ciao!!!

Is it 20 euros per car load or per person? Thanks!

Laura, we didn't bring umbrellas. We had some rain one day on the ship and today in Naples it's supposed to rain, but otherwise it's been fine.

20 Euros per taxi plus luggage.

Rounding up to the next Euro is how they do it. On the ship it is like normal, EXCEPT VAT is added to everything. More on that later.

Off to Naples!!

Questions -

1. What time is the on-board time in Barcelona?

2. What time did the Magic depart Barcelona?

3. Did the sail-away party conflict with those who had late dining?

4. What time are the shows? ( for late and early dining.)

5. Some folks have written that they had lunch in Las Ramblas, but no mention of a restaurant name. If you had a nice lunch or dinner while in Barcelona, would you please share the name? THANKS!

6. If you visited the La Sargada Familia - did you have to have your knees and shoulders covered? ( wondering if this is the case, since the church is not finished and I'm trying to plan what to pack for the few days pre-cruise we will spend in Spain!)

Would love  it if one of you 1st Med cruisers would be so kind as to scan and post navigators when you return ( sorry compulsive planner here!)

Thanks in advance for you comments - ENJOY the MAGIC!:wizard:

Take care,
Sherri

Just wondering just how far it is to walk from the terminal to the nearest shops please.

Thanks and carry on enjoying yourselves please.

1. What time is the on-board time in Barcelona?

5:00 pm

2. What time did the Magic depart Barcelona?

10:00 pm

3. Did the sail-away party conflict with those who had late dining?

Yes. We ended up skipping dessert.

4. What time are the shows? ( for late and early dining.)

Same as on other cruises. Early show during early dinner (like 6:30), late show during late dinner.

5. Some folks have written that they had lunch in Las Ramblas, but no mention of a restaurant name. If you had a nice lunch or dinner while in Barcelona, would you please share the name? THANKS!

We had a great meal somewhere else. Las Ramblas was a bit overrated for food for us. I don't recall the name but icunurse_celeste will post it some time soon (she took a picture of the sign).

No we didn't and the churches have varied. In Palermo, the guys could come in with shorts on. It's been too cool for sleeveless for us.

I'll be getting mine to the DIS to post as soon as I return.

As for the walk to the shops from the terminal -- which port? In Barcelona, no, you can't do it. In Palermo and Naples, yes.

Just wonder also what sort of things they are selling in the commercial centre at the port in Barcelona please.

do they still have the college club for 18-21 year olds to go to if they want in diversions?

Sorry if this has already been asked but I didn't see it anywhere.
What is the castaway return gift? Is it still the mesh bags with the accessories? Thanks and hope each of you have a marvelous and safe trip!

Just wonder if anyone noticed if they sell wine at the terminal and also which terminal we board from as we have not got our documents as yet.

Like to take a couple of bottles aboard and do not want to carry them around too far.
Many thanks
Brenda

Do they still push the water package? If so, how much does it cost?

Pushing it a lot. They gave us forms in our room to order water. Don't have mine handy right now, but I'll check when I get home. They offered a number of different brands and packages.

Hi, I was on the transatlantic cruise and can answer the water question. 24 bottles of Evian was $42.00, which I thought was a pretty good deal at under $2.00 a bottle. We ended up ordering two cases. They also had a lesser number, either 6 or 9, but I am not sure what the price was. You can also order it thru room service.

Thanks for all of the answers so far!

Would you recommend US dollar travelers checks for getting euros on board the ship? I have a bunch sitting around home from previous trips.

TIA!

UMTerp

Ok, so I'm just curious if certain crew members are currently onboard, so if anyone could answer if you know who I'm talking about and if they are there, that's be great!

Rhett and Julie (performers from Promenade Lounge)
Charles Marshall Band
Conrad (server from Jamaica)
Sasha (from Palo, I am almost positive, though that he left the ship due to injury and did not return)
Cruise Director Rachel
Wesley (Room attendant, goes by "Wesley Snipes")

I have seen posted elsewhere that Rachel was the cruise director on the Eastbound.....or should I say RACHEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:scared1:
