05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Just got back from a shopping spree at Lowes. Had to buy a bunch of stuff for projects to begin soon after returning from vacation. Kind of sad to be thinking about what I will be doing after vacation. :sad2:

Ok I have updated the FE list again and you can find it on pg. 120 post 1793. Please send me any updates or changes ASAP! I will update this page again about 4 days before we go. If for some reason you have changed rooms once we get on the ship I would ask that you pass out your gifts on the first day and maybe attach a little note with your new room #. If anyone has an idea as to how to pass the word on a room change once on board please post.

We just hopped on the list and was curious what the FE looks like and what type of gifts are given/received. Thanks for your help! We are so excited!:yay:

AHHHHH! My husband and I started house shopping today and we decided that we really liked the very first house that we looked at. It was a nice house but we are being pushed to bid tonight and we just looked at it today. I am sooooo freaked out. I am not good at decisions at all. I loved the house but I am not sure I can make a decision in 5 minutes. Oh please let the next two weeks pass quickly.

Hey there - I originally posted this a while back:
Here is a link to the seller for the FE that we bought - you won't find ours, but the other FEs are great too, I'm sure. If you click through into the individual items the dimensions are listed.
She's a great seller and she personalizes the FEs.

http://myworld.ebay.com/gradysmommy/

You'd probably need to get in touch with her asap to get an FE in time for our cruise from her at this point, but it's well worth it!

I'm not sure that you can actually still get it from EBay, but you can try. Another option is to go find a hanging organizer...maybe at Bed Bath and Beyond? Scottie found a cheap Mickey one on EBay for about $10 and I think they're still for sale, but he said they came from China and it was a long ship time.
Anyway, the seller for my FE (and embroidered pillowcases too) was great and she may be wiling/able to rush something to you. I can't wait to spring mine on my kids! They actually know NOTHING about this yet, so they're gonna just flip that it's like Christmas again!

I hope this helped!

Just booked this cruise for myself and my daughter. Her birthday is May 14th (28 years old) plus it being Mother's Day ... well, it just yelled out "book me". It's been a rough 4-5 months and she is a teacher in a very low income school that goes 12 months and her track break starts next week. Timing was perfect. So I booked her a ticket home to Orlando (she's a teacher in Las Vegas) and we're going to spend 7 days without computers, cell phones or anything to worry her. In November she had to break off her engagement (and a Disney wedding had been planned), then two weeks later my father passed away (my Dad and my daughter were very close) and then in January she had major surgery that had complications. She's also almost done getting her masters degree at night and has a month off from those classes in May too. So, we'll be there with you all!!! I'm counting the days!!!
Teena and dd, Jeanne. (P.S. I'm a cast member at WDW).

Welcome to our cruise!!! It certainly sounds like this is well deserved vacation for the both of you.

How long have you been a cast member at WDW? That would be a great job to have!

Not long now before we are sailing the high seas and enjoying life!

Your most welcome! Happy she is enjoying the bracelets!

As for hot weather, I know what you mean! It was almost 90 here yesterday and Sunny. I am sure you all will love my beautiful Farmers Tan I developed yesterday working in the yard!!

I would say an FE Gift can be whatever your heart desires. From reading FE posts it sounds like people are able to provide a nice gift that costs very little and others choose to spend a good bit on theirs… so whatever you feel is appropriate should be A-OK!

My son plays Rugby (still don't get this game) for his college team here in VT. I spent the day watching him play in a three game tournament in the sun. It went to 85 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. Should have realized what this would do to me, Scottie we will be comparing "farmers tans". Even up north the sun is strong.

Today it is 48 degrees and raining:sad1:which is mother natures way of reminding us that it isn't Mamorial Day yet. Every good Vermonter knows not to plant a garden before then becuase we can still get a frost.

We leave next Sunday for our WDW vacation before the Cruise.:cheer2: Our gifits are done and plenty of magnets for the cabin door. We are shipping all of this to the resort so we won't have check them in our bags.

It's been a rough 4-5 months ....

I hear you, TeenaS, and what a great way to cheer her up! I'm also celebrating getting through a rough 8 months myself (motorcycle accident over Labor Day 2008, lots of broken bones followed by LOTS of complications, just going back to work this week!), so I hope you, she and I ALL have a GREAT trip!!

I'm SOOO looking forward to sitting around the adult pool, chatting with people I meet, knitting or reading as the mood takes me, and dunking into the pool when I want a swim. I can't stop thinking about it!

Hope to meet both you and your daughter Jeanne, and hope we all have a great cruise!

Welcome Aboard!!

What do you do at WDW? I was a CM for a number of years:

1993-1995 - The Disney Store
1995-1998 - WDW-Splash Photo, Emporium, Steam Trains, Jungle Cruise, Pirates, Energy, Test Track (T&A Team)
1998-1999 - Disneyland Paris-Space Mountain, Star Tours, Honey, I Shrunk...
1999-2001 - WDW-Mouse Gear, Contemporary Merch.

Welcome Teena! I'm so sorry Jeanne has been going through a rough time but a Disney cruise is the perfect getaway.

I added you to the roster and map on our group's site at http://pages.suddenlink.net/airtime247/. Scottie, I also made your change and added DisneyKricket's celebrations.

I can't believe how close we are getting. We keep picking up little things here and there. I think our luggage fees are going to cost more than the cruise itself.

I'm starting to print all of our confirmations, itineraries, maps, etc. I finally did our online check-in form on Disney's website so I think we're pretty much set. :dance3:

Thanks for all the welcomes.
I've been at WDW five years ... it's my retirement job. I try to keep to working two days a week but sometimes I'll work more. I'm the lobby greeter in the Beach Club lobby on Sundays and Mondays. It's a wonderful job ... talking and pin trading with people all day long.

Jeanne and I will be spending lots of time at the adult pool and Serenidity Bay is my most favorite place in the world so I'll be there the second we can get off the ship on Friday!

Jeanne has cruised lots but never on a Disney cruise. I know she'll love it. This will be my 4th Disney cruise and my hubby and I have one planned for September and October this year.

We were so looking forward to spending a day at Serenity Bay on our parents-only cruise we took over Valentines 08', but unfortunatly the water over there was freezing and the wind was much stronger then on the family beach. We did stay for a little bit, just so we could say we got to do it at least once! ;)

Thanks for taking care of us on the site! :thumbsup2

We have thanked our lucky stars we booked with SWA at a good rate for the trip... it is going to save us pretty penny in bag fees!

When we were looking at booking our flight, some of the American airlines were a little cheaper than the 2 Canadian airlines we could have booked with. But when I heard you guys on here talking about baggage fees, I decided to look into the different airlines and their baggage fees. Well to mu pleasant surprise, the 2 Canadian airlines that flew to Orlando allowed 2 bags for NO COST!!! So for our family of 5, that means we can take 10 pieces of luggage plus carryons. Also, we can bring our booster seats for no charge also. I guess we really lucked into the airlines. Maybe flying all the way from Canada has it's perks.

Sorry to all of you who to pay these crazy baggage fees!!!
