05/09/2009 May 9, 2009 7-Night Eastern St Maarten... Watch Out!

I went online and did the check in yesterday. This is all getting very exciting.

Did my online check in yesterday too!

And found out that although I have already done my ESTA online, we are still required to complete the dreaded green visa forms after all as ESTA computers don't talk to airline computers! Oh well...one day! Isnt technology wonderful.

Its exciting to see all the documents now ready prepared in my folder. I am concerned re the cruise docs thjouigh....if they don't arrive within 12 days we will be leaving UK without them :sad2:. I suppose that DCL will have spare luggage tags etc? I guess thats the main thing we might need?

I think you will be more then fine if they dont arrive! :goodvibes
I am pretty sure you can just bring the couple of pages you printed online and the Porters should have the extra tags for your luggage. If anything else is needed, they should have it for you to fill out when you check in at port...or so I have read!

Scottie, I updated the site. Great family picture!

I wish our cruise docs would hurry up and get here. We got a package from Disney but it was just the Magical Express tags for our trip home. Who wants to think about that?!?!? Not us!

Are there any other joggers or walkers in the group? Disney should be having a 5K the morning of Castaway Cay. They usually let guests off the ship a little early to take the stroll. From what I read, it's not timed or very competitive but they do give you a little certificate for completing the race. The course goes through some areas of the island I've never been.

I know, it's not most people's idea of vacation but it's something I can't wait to do.

We love NC. We lived in West Palm Beach for about 3 1/2 years back in the late 70's. Our oldest DD was born there. We moved from there to Chicago, talk about temperature shock. Then here to Charlotte.

I live in Charlotte too! It was very chilly and gray today, such a letdown from yesterday! Where in Charlotte do you live? I am in the South End area.

I moved here less than a year ago for a job (which I still have, knock on wood, despite massive layoffs at my company). :)

Wow so many people on here are from Charlotte. I meet my DH he was living in the University area of Charlotte and I was living in Raleigh. He loved the city of Charlotte and I have always thought that it would be a great place to go back too one day....

Yeah our Docs arrived today too. My grandmother who lives in Greensboro, NC was not on our docs. Is that normal? Do you think that they mailed hers directly to her even though we are all staying in one room?

I know that this is my first Disney Cruise but from what I have read they should all come together if you are staying in the same room... Maybe I'm wrong but I would call Disney just to be sure.

OK so we applied for our passports on March 13 and still nothing. has anyone received them yet and if so what was the turn around time.

We always get nervous about dining for a week with strangers. We were wondering if any other small families with young children would be interested in linking their dining with us. It's just DW and me and our 3yo DD and we have early (main) dining.

At least we wouldn't be complete strangers as we can get to know each other on the boards first. We did this with three other pairs of DISers and made lifelong friends we have actually kept in close touch with and have travelled together on other occasions since.

We can easily get a table for six, eight or possibly ten if maybe two small parties would want to link with us.

If anyone is interested, please PM me!

Thanks for updating the site... we try to look like a normal family at least once a year! :upsidedow
And just an FYI for everyone... no we are not a family of giants... we only planted that tree behind us last fall. :)

I thought I read passports were taking about 4 weeks now. Hopefully they will arrive soon so you can put those away for the big trip! Worse case if they dont make it in time you can get some duplicate birth certs and use those for the cruise.

We would love to take you in (as if you are a stray animal or something!) but we are late seating...bummer.

I am going to call tomorrow and see, but I thought maybe since she lives in another state they may have sent hers to her so that she would have her luggage tags if she was taking the shuttle straight from the airport to the port. I hope that is the case although she is still listed on our reservation. :scared1:

I get worried easily I guess!!!

I just noticed on the DCL reservation page that they have offically given back the fuel supplement charge as an onboard credit for our cruise. That means more spending money... YEAH!!! :cool1: I know me and I can use all the extra spending money that I can get... LOL...

Well after reading from several others that it was a good idea, and not having any set plans, we decided to rent a couple of cars on St. Martin. :drive: It also made sense financially since there are 8 of us travelling together.

Hopefully none of us drive off the road looking at airplanes or sunbathers.

No promises Steve, but we might be persuaded on the 5K! No promises as its the end of the week not the beginning..
We are taking our trainers though this year. Last year it was one of the regrets that we had to walk Deck 4 rather than run, as we hadnt thought to bring any kit.
I am definitely going to run at least one lap this time!
I guess the 5K would be a great walk anyhow, so we will def consider!

PS I note that 5k is 9 laps of Deck 4!

I saw this too. I followed the instructions on how to look for it on our reservations and never could come up with anything that said Invoice Information. Have you checked it out?

Since we didn't have mail delivery due to Easter Monday, I am hoping that we will recieve our cruise docs today. But you never know, us Canadians are alot further away than some of you!!! LOL.

We are already a table of ten, but if you would like to link up with us, that would be great. The more the merrier.

As odd as this may sound, I was kind of bummed to find out a couple of months back we did not pay a surcharge... I was hoping to get that money back into our shipboard account so we could spend even more onboard (and have the feel that it was "free" onboard credit)!
