04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

I have a question about B2B when we get to Vancouver. Since we will be on the ship before the new guests are, will we able to go to Wave Bands and check for Palo availablity any earlier? If not what time do they usually have someone there?

You will be first in line that is for sure! Usually on a B2B, we have to disembark and then are the first to embark again. You will most likely not have to change rooms - so you can get back into your cabin (unless they are really being sticklers for the rules). You also will be able to move around a lot of areas of the ship, no food until about noonish...if they have to clean an area you are in - they will ask you to move. I usually have hung out on deck 4 and watch the atrium. The pools are usually available (will be kinda chilly!) and the drink station is usually open pretty quickly. They do have to clean it, but that is a quick one.

Does that help?

yes thanks. We have the same cabin assigned for both cruises so I know we won't have to move. I would like to leave the ship and spend a bit of time in Vancouver but I would also like to have a Palo brunch so I am torn :confused3

My suggestion is that you go up to Palo the last day of the first cruise...ask to be put on the wait list for a brunch...sometimes they can do it sometimes they can't. But it won't hurt to ask!

52 days out! The FE Repo Roster is updated and available at post 2199 or by using the link on post #1 to this thread. A couple of GTY groups got their rooms. Please PM me ASAP if you know of any further additions or deletions.

I did some more FE shopping today. Fun Fun! :thumbsup2

Please check this list and let Hillaryone know if there are any updates and corrections :goodvibes If you want to join in the fun, send her a PM and you'll get added!

Try what Cayla says for the Palo brunch - last year we got off the ship in Dover and spend day in Dover and got back on ship just in time to catch lunch (but we were not concerned about Palo reservations).

If you print out documents on line, you will just receive luggage tags in mail, if you have not printed out doc's before their mailing, you will receive the whole packet. We have not received anything yet.

We were just on the Panama cruise and we didn't get any cruise documents. Our luggage tags arrived in the mail about a week after we got home :confused3 :lmao:

Two quick questions for the more experienced cruisers:

1) Do you think that there will be a shuttle provided from the Victoria Cruise Terminal to downtown Victoria? Would DCL know if I called?

2) I know that we'll be in San Francisco on April 29th, which will be the date of the royal wedding. Since it's a "real" royal wedding will it be broadcast on the ship? Will there be any special events surrounding it (as in snacks provided during watching, etc)? (I realize any answers will be pure speculation).

We're getting super excited and planning away around here. Now if I could only find a formal maternity dress that doesn't cost an arm and a leg ;)

Wow... so late into the game... We are trying to book the repo cruise. We adopted twins last week that have been in our home for the past year (LONG story for any who may be interested). We applied for their expedited passports last week, and if they arrive in time (and if space is still available), we will be booking this cruise! It will just be DH, myself and the twins coming (DSs have school and uncles will be staying with them at home). :thumbsup2

Congratulations on the adoption!!! How exciting for you and your family.
We adopted too! Our daughter is 21 now...we were lucky to watch her be born.

Welcome to the cruise. I'm sure the twins will have so much fun. How old are they?
Good luck on the passports...they should be here in time.

Denise our twins are 21 too... 21 months though and not years! :goodvibes
We went through foster adopt, and our twins came from a county 2 hours from where we live. They were in different foster homes originally, but one came to live with us when she was 9 months old, and the other twin came to live with us 2 days before her first birthday! We are absolutely thrilled :cheer2::lovestruc

I don't know about a shuttle in Victoria, I do know that where the ships dock is about 1 to 1 1/2 mile from the centre of the city. A easy walk for some or a short cab ride for me!

Oh Wendy I am SO EXCITED to hear this! :woohoo: Peggy hinted that this may be a fait accompli based on a facebook post?? Can't wait to cruise with you again and meet your two new princess:princess:

We're excited too Jackie! We are REALLY hoping this works out & are trying to iron out all the travel details. Pretty easy for us to get to LA, but not sure what to do when we get to Vancouver... do we try to get to Seattle to visit friends, do we simply fly home from Vancouver the same day we disembark, do we stay the night and fly home the following day to do some sight-seeing... so many options! Looking forward to seeing you and Peggy again!

I don't know about the shuttle, but I will speculate about the wedding. It starts at 11am London time, which will be 3am our time on the 29th. We won't be in SF yet, but getting close. I'm thinking they will at least broadcast it live in ABC (who is owned by Disney) in our cabins - especially because some of our cruisers will be British. They might have it on in one of the bars with snacks available - that's a good possibility. Otherwise, they do have 24 hr room service! :)

We are taking the 5pm train from Vancouver to Stanwood to see my DSIS - very reasonable and it's much cheaper to fly from SEA home after our visit there - here is the link with the route: http://www.amtrakcascades.com/

That will give us a day to tour Vancouver, too! There is a luggage storage facility at the cruise terminal. I can find the link if anyone wants it- I think you have to call them and arrange it ahead of time.

If you decide to stay the night, we will be at the Pan Pacific, which is right there by the pier/Canada Place. (We're staying on night and flying direct from Vancouver to Phoenix the next afternoon.)

We may be on the same train!!! I finally got our tickets yesterday.

Q - How are you planning on getting over to the train station from the ship? Then we have to figure out how to get from the train station in SEA to our hotel. Getting in late at night is not my first choice, but it is what it is. :rotfl2:
