Does anyone in the concierge level, or suites have advance information regarding the entertainment planned for either cruise? :confused3

Steven

Concierge and suites are one and the same on The Magic & The Wonder, unlike the Dream which has a concierge option for the family verandah rooms.

I've sailed in suites on the Magic and we never got any advance information on the entertainment, but maybe things have changed.

I just went to online check in to see if anything had changed, and they have a cute Goofy video about check-in! :goodvibes

I've been wanting to do this for quite a while ... but never actually made it to a tasting.

1) If you have INTEREST in attending a beer tasting ... but thought it would be better to go with people you know ... keep reading.

2) If you wanted to attend a tasting, but did not want to leave your spouse alone ... keep reading.

3) If you are not 100% sure you will attend, but think you might like to attend ... keep reading.

I propose to take names of those who have INTEREST in attending a DCL beer tasting. Once aboard the ship, I will try to find out WHEN the beer tasting will commence. Once known, I will leave a voice mail message for you (on your stateroom voice mail), alerting you to the date and time. You will handle registration and payment on your own, directly through DCL. If appropriate, I can also leave a message (stateroom voice mail) the evening before the tasting, as noted in the Navigator.

So, if you THINK you would have interest ... send me a PM with your name, DISboard userID, and stateroom # (if known) ... along with whether you want to participate in the REPO beer tasting, ALASKA beer tasting ... or BOTH. I will keep a list ... and notify all appropriate parties when / as needed. :dance3:

Spouses can opt to meet at the event, and head elsewhere during the tasting ... or ... you are usually able to attend as a non drinking guest.

Chime in if you have any other thoughts or suggestions.

Steven

This sounds like fun, but I would like to do wine or martini tasting.

Ken, thanks for posting the meeting information! You certainly have detailed plans, and contingency plans well in place! :worship:

=======

FWIW, if anyone is interested, I created a two sided insert for use most cruise porfolios (fits perfectly into the DVC portfolio (stateroom gift). Essentially, I measured the horizontal and vertical space available, to insert a piece of semi rigid cardstock ... and printed each side with pertinent details of the cruise(s).

One side lists flight details, shuttle information, hotel reservation / confirmation info., transfers, port address, DCL confirmation #'s, DCL & T/A phone numbers, Castaway Club #'s, and a note for expected SBC.

The other side lists the cruise itinerary (day, date, time & port), as well as reserved excursion information (cost, name, ID, time & DCL code). The name, ID & code is useful to compare to the excursion tickets when delivered to your stateroom. Twice, we have been given incorrect excursion tickets, but since the name was similar, we did not know we had the wrong tickets, until it was too late.

I also have my own personal dining reservations noted on the schedule (Palo tea, brunch, dinner), etc.

The document was made in Microsoft Word, and is preformatted to fit the folio. You can easily modify the document with your own information.

If you are interested in receiving the preformatted document, send me a PM, and include your email address ... so I can send it as an attachment.

=======

As a side note, as many of you know, guests are able to prepay expenses for their cruise folio. You can call DCL (gifts and amenities option) ... give them your credit card information, and prepay a shipboard credit (in any amount desired), which will be posted to your folio prior to boarding. This can be especially beneficial when faced with hefty excursion costs in Alaska. Though you will not *save* money ... you will lessen to amount due at debarkation.

Steven

Thank you so much for all your time organizing things! You are a gem! Thanks for the info - great idea - I think I'll call that credit in before we "fritter away" our tax refund!:thumbsup2

I've sailed in suites on the Magic and we never got any advance information on the entertainment, but maybe things have changed.

In the past, those in a Wonder / Magic *suite* have been able to call DCL, to inquire as to the entertainment (usually best to call when we ware within 60 or 30 days of sailing). :wizard: It's not as though DCL automatically provides the information in advance. It's believe it's handled the same as any other special request ... though usually not available for those sailing in non suites.

I guess no one ever told us that :confused3 We've sailed in the Walt Disney suite twice and while they did make all of our on board reservations for us, they never gave us any inside scoop prior to the cruise. I guess we didn't know to ask.

I just saw on the First Alaska thread that someone has created a FAQ thread on FE (Fish Extenders) for anyonw who is interested in taking a peek. ;)

Here is a dedicated FE THREAD FAQ

Pardon my forgetfulness! Did you wish to be on the FE exchange roster for the Repo cruise? I do not have you on that roster.
Thanks!

Are you looking to join other DISers during Second Seating dining?

Currently, we have two parties, totaling five guests, each sailing on the REPO & ALASKA cruise.
... SDLong329 consists of Steven (late 40's), Donna (mid 40's), and Lisa (late 20's)
... Robin "D" consists of Angel and Robin (each, late 40's)

We have requested servers Cesar and Carlos, based upon previous experience of a few friends and T/A's.

We currently have space for one, two or three additional guests. :dance3: If you would like to join us for dinner on the REPO and ALASKA cruises, please send me a private message. In order to link dining reservations, I will need to provide DCL with your DCL reservation numbers, as well as the name and birthdate of a member of your party.

So, while most everyone else on the ship will be introducing themselves to unknown guests on the first night of the REPO ... everyone sitting at our table will already know each other (and we will know our servers as well ... I will send you a JPG). Then, what's even better ... when we begin the Alaska cruise, our tablemates will already know each other ... and the servers will already know us, as well as our dining preferences. This just doesn't get any better (well, okay ... if it was a free cruise, THAT might be better)!

Who's in? :grouphug:

Would anyone with first seating dinner want to try and sit together? Don't know if I missed people talking about that.

I was just wondering if anyone has 2 Toontown Morning Madness tickets that they would not be using? I would love to have them if they are available. PM me please.

It is a special 1 hour opening at ToonTown that you need a special admission ticket for. ToonTown normally opens 1 hour after Disneyland opens. On certain days if you have a ticket you can get into ToonTown earlier. The tickets are included in resort packages and are not available for purchase.
