04/27/11 DCL's WONDERful LA-VANCOUVER REPO ON THE WAY TO ALAKSA

Thanks for doing these up again! I loved them on our WB cruise last year. My only problem is I need a bigger stateroom door! I've run out of room.

Request to DCL: On the new Disney Dream, I need a double entry stateroom door!:rotfl:

That is sooooo funny Linda....ha.....but I completely agree!

We hang them all on the side of the fridge and the separate freezer, then we just choose which ones we're bringing each cruise. Some can't be repeated...if they're cruise specific.:banana:

Kaz, you are a true champagne sister. I like your style.;)
Did you ever doubt it, Deb?!!!! ;) I'm currently sampling different pink champagnes for the festive season - that's my excuse and I am so sticking with it...

Haha Emily, I know that Disney cruises are definitely my life. I currently have 5 cruises booked on DCL....just had to get to platinum before we sail the B2B LA-Van-Alaska....we want all the upgraded perks for this special trip. ;)
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship: And I thought I was ever-so-slightly crazy to have 3 booked!!!!! That platinum thing would be nice to have tho'... And who knows what might happen when the Dream dates are released.....? :rolleyes1

....now talk about how many differnt threads there are to keep up with....:laughing::laughing:
That's the tricky one!!!

...We're thinking of flying into San Diego and exploring then taking the Pacific Surfliner up to LA to get onboard. How awesome that would be.:rolleyes1
Totally awesome, Deb!!! :thumbsup2 I researched doing that last summer but we didn't have time in the end but it's still on my 'to do' list...

Deb, I'll rephrase that: Disney cruises and Disney are my life. Between now and 2011 I've got WDW in Nov., DCL Baltic, WDW in Aug. for the pin event followed by a 4 night on the Wonder and then back to WDW for MNSSHP, WDW in Nov., and then Alaska. So if you split it up by ressies that's 7 trips planned for between now and 2011. And of course the Dream is always a big ?:confused3. So that could make it 8.

OK then, I'm in good company and I don't feel so bad. I forgot all about the Dream. Naturally, that will have to get added in there somewhere.

Good - it's not just me!
I am very actively looking for a job in Florida, even though I live in Washington state. If I get a job before the end of the school year, I'll live alone out there while the kids finish school here. That provides me the opportunity to take four three-night cruises and make gold before the LA-YVR repo.

Now I know I'm in good company...I feel right at home here. I thought I was bad because had to add two 4 nighters to get to platinum before B2B....I already have a Western booked for Halloween 2010. That will get me there before this cruise. YEAH!!!

I like that answer...can I use it?

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship: And I thought I was ever-so-slightly crazy to have 3 booked!!!!! That platinum thing would be nice to have tho'... And who knows what might happen when the Dream dates are released.....? :rolleyes1

We'll go onboard as platinum together....you know you're going to do it!

That's the tricky one!!!

One at a time....or two....:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

Totally awesome, Deb!!! :thumbsup2 I researched doing that last summer but we didn't have time in the end but it's still on my 'to do' list...

See what happens this time, one never knows....we would love to do it with you or with a group that may want to do it.:thumbsup2

I posted these pictures from our weekend in Vancouver in the first Alaska thread and the other combined thread, so some of you have already seen them, but some of you haven't so I'm posting them here too.

Spent last weekend in Vancouver BC. We went and checked out Capilano Suspension Bridge and Stanley Park, which we haven't done for a while. Here's a couple pics
me & my girls out on the bridge

Me up in the "treetops adventures" section. There's a bunch of smaller suspension bridges up high in the trees as a neat extra section to walk through.

Here's a shot of DH & kids on another piece of the Treetop Adventures

Here's a shot of part of the seawall walking/biking path at Stanley Park

Pink Champagne! I will have to try that! And... PINK in honor of Breast Cancer month!

Elaine... I'm so sorry about your contractor. At least you found out now. What a shame. Sending Pixie Dust!

Lynn... SNOW! WOW! Glad you'll be at WDW this weekend.

We finally got our new computer insert for our treadmill. Nothing like waiting until the 11th hour! In the meantime, I hurt my back while cleaning and moving furniture at our Aunt Gertrude's house. UGH.

We are registered for Race for the Taste thie Sunday! Sadly, if things don't improve, I will not be able to participate, especially with a 15 minute mile pace. We will still register though. We are still hoping to do the TOT 13K on the 24th! The pace has been relaxed for that one.

Thanks for the all links and pictures of things to do! I must check them out!

HAPPY DAY ALL!

Good Morning Cruisers!

Georgie - you and I can bring up the rear and see if we can out walk the sweepers - I still am walking at a 19-20 m/m pace, and do not know if I will be able to make it faster for the race. I plan to start as close to the front as I can for extra buffer.

We did not get out before the snow, we have about a half inch on the ground, and it is still snowing. The larger accumulation is supposed to happen over the weekend, but I did not expect to see snow before tomorrow. We have to leave for the airport at 2am:scared1: That will be a fun ride.

Have a great day all!

Hi Lynn....I love your avatar and use of color. I'm just glad that you use purple or I would think that you were me. haha.:laughing: At least you have good taste!

Ya better watch that Pink Champagne on ice, Georgie. (old song reference)
And take care with all that physical stuff. We want to see you healthy at the end of the month.

LuvBaloo, great pictures. How far is that from port?

Good evening.
Rain, rain, rain today. And it is heading east.:sad2: Hopefully, it will go north of you Georgie.
Thanks to the weather, I was not able to get as much done during my retirement trial run this week. Oh well.

Arts and crafts tonight. :surfweb:
Hopefully I can make a trip to the post office tomorrow.

....Bob...I like the picture you selected for Mom and I...I was scared when I saw you say that you would use ones you had because I know some of the pictures you have of me!!!!!!

What are you talking about?:confused3
Besides, if there were any incriminating pictures out there, I would not do that to Margaret.:littleangel:

Safe travels Georgie & Joe and Lynn & Scott.
Everybody have a great weekend. :wave2:

LuvBaloo, great pictures. How far is that from port?

The port is right downtown.
Stanley Park is 2 km from Canada Place (port) and Capilano Suspension Bridge is 9 km.
Stanley park is big (1000acres), you can walk all around it, plus there's tons of hiking trails through it. You can rent bikes for riding around. The Vancouver aquarium is in Stanley park. Its small, nothing close to Seaworld. There's a children's farmyard, too. And a miniature train.

If you like suspension bridges, there's also Lynn Canyon Suspension bridge which is more rustic, the area isn't developed as much and is free (donations welcomed). We haven't done it yet, but will likely check it out next spring.

Happy Friday!!!

I've just been taking a look at some of the tours on offer in Vancouver as we want to extend our August 2011 Alaskan cruise... So far I've discovered BC wine tasting tours :thumbsup2 (I had no idea!!!) AND, for fans of Twilight, a filming locations tour... ;)

It's Friday! And we're going to Walt Disney World!

I'll miss chatting with everyone the next few days. We have no internet connections at Mouse Beach... just our Blackberrys.

Thanks for all the info being posted. I'll have to start taking notes. :goodvibes I finally got a chance to see some of the great magnet designs posted. They are so creative! :thumbsup2

Bob, thanks for the well wishes. Facebook keeps acting up when I try to view and post, so I may have missed some things. :wizard:

Of course, many Americans, including me, just never caught on with that km thing. How many miles would that be approximately? Is it within walking distance to Stanley Park or would we need a car?
