Also what is everybody doing for pirate night. I heard they give out bandanas. Is that true?

I originally made PALO reservations for Pirate night, but now it sounds like Pirate night is being moved to night 5 on some sailings????? :confused3 Now I don't know if I should move my reservations. DF and I don't really care to participate in Pirate night so we figured we'd do PALO this night so we don't miss anything else we DO care about.

Yes, they do, at dinner. Dinner itself isn't fab, in my opinion. But I like the show and the fireworks. The kids love to dance.

Hi Everyone- We are getting pretty excited - the trip is getting close. Watching the trip reports to hear how everyone has been enjoying their MR cruises. We are not planning on getting off the ship at all except for PV to meet up with our friends for breakfast (they will be in port on their cruise at the same time ) Otherwise, we just want to enjoy the ship and the decreased crowds during port days. I have to say the only excursion I was tempted by was the PV pirate ship adventure as our friends did that before and had a great time. Otherwise, we need to wait until our 4 year old is a bit older to enjoy some of the more adventurous excursions. Luckily we were a pirate family for Halloween this past year so we are set to dress up for Pirate Nite pirate: DH and I will definitely be planning to join in on the tasting at the bar, so we should make plans for an informal mid-cruise meet of our adult DIS buddies there :thumbsup2

Question for any of the experienced DCL members... anyone have experience with any of the couples spa treatments? Generally our cruise spa experiences have been disappointing with a lot of sales pitches at the end, so we usually don't bother with spa on the cruise, but I was wondering if anyone had some insight...

We did the couples massage with private cabana on the Wonder in 2008. It was very nice, but kinda pricey.
They took us into our private cabana and we changed into one of their robes. Then they had us put our feet into these huge bowls that had water and some kind of detox solution. After they massaged out feet, we then were able to enjoy the jacuzzi for about 30-40 minutes. This was nice because we were enjoying the view of the ocean while we were enjoying the jacuzzi! After that, they came in to take us indoors to this room that had 2 massage tables. They had some relaxing music playing, along with some therapeutic aroma. The massage was great.. they massaged front and back for 50 minutes! After the session was over, they did try to market some of their products, but were not to pushy after we said no thanks!

We were gonna do it again this time, but we decided to try to do more with the kids this time around. Hope this helps :)

We are signed up for Exotic Rasul :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

DF doesn't know about it, it will be a surprise. :rolleyes1

I really wanted to do the couples massage/jacuzzi but too rich for my budget!

We did it. While enjoyable, the time goes quickly. For that price outside in a normal spa, you could get basically an all day experience. So just be prepared that the time in a hot tub, when you start off outside the hot tub with tea, can go by very fast. And then you are whisked inside for the treatment. You can write on the paperwork when you sign in "NO SALES PITCH PLEASE" They usually will read that and not even attempt to sell. But if they start to say, "I think you might..." A firm, "thank you but I have all the products I need right now and don't wish to discuss it", along with the note should stop that. It is individual so while some have not experienced a pushy person, others may. So I suggest just nipping it in the bud and writing it down when you check in.
I think it is nice. I'd prefer to have more privacy on the balcony. Don't do it on a port day as you might be staring at some port employees doing work on the ship or something.

We enjoyed the massages a lot. Extra relaxing on the cruise. It does cost more but they are very good ones. (really liked the hot stone) I can't speak to the other services, and I don't remember up selling.

We are doing the Paradise one in PV. It got good reviews for families. Has a couple nice water slides for the kids and the food was suppose to be good.

It is priced high and like calmom said you can do a all day at an outside spa.

I have a gift certificate for a local day spa (graduation gift) that I think I'll use the Saturday before the cruise, if I'm not too busy packing and running last minute errands!!!!!

I will look out for the daily spa deals on the cruise. I do really want to try the hot stone massage, or would love to get some kind of feet treatment. :cloud9:

Does anyone know if the days have changed for the Pirate Night? I already changed our reservation for Palo once, its now on Wednesday night, I just don't want to miss Pirate Night in the restaurant with the kids.

Every week I do a search on our cruise to see what is still available. Today on the Disney cruise website it only lists 4/3 and 4/17... Wonder if that means we are at capacity?

I had made reservations for PALO on Wednesday so we could be in there during Pirate night. I just e-mailed my TA to try to confirm which night will be Pirate night.

GREAT NEWS!!!! I just finished my FE. (except for cowgirl1, any info yet?) Now I can concetrate on packing.

I Still do not have any info on Cowgirl1. The last time she logged on was 2-18-11. I have messaged and emailed, but no response. I will try again.

That is a great suggestion - Thanks! I was thinking of at least doing the Exotic Rasul - like Mindy and her man are doing, but the couples cabana treatment sounded pretty awesome - it is a pretty intimidating price tag though. So I really appreciate all the good feedback from everyone. :goodvibes
