04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

My TA confirmed for our sailing - Formal night is night 2, Pirate night is night 5.

I took my printouts that Mafpi shared with us to Staples to get made into a book. I did half pages so they are a little crooked. It cost $5 to laminate the cover and add the coil binding. I love it!!!!!!!

Hi all!!

It's getting so close!! Yay!! :ccat:

I was just looking over the excursions again and we are thinking about the Buggy, Beach & Swim or 4x4 Mini Jeep Adventure in Cabo Day 1 and maybe the Harbor Cruise & Scenic Stop on Day 2. And then Yelapa & Majahuitas in
Puerto Vallarta. Anyone have an experience or booked any of these?

Mindy , I have reservations for Palo on Thursday Night (Pirate Night) maybe we can switch reservations if you have one for Wednesday, we just checked and there weren't any other reservations available.

What time is your reservation? Mine is at 7pm, would that work for you? Let me know when you'll be online for a bit. :)

Hi all,

I haven't posted since first introducing ourselves, though I have to admit I've lurked a little bit on this thread since. :rolleyes1 Enough to borrow mafpi's journal info to make something for both my kids. Thank you mafpi!! I can't wait to present them to the kids. DD7 has been saying that she wants to bring a journal to write about her cruise, so this is perfect.

Other than that, we are booked in Palo for dinner on Tuesday and brunch on Saturday. I cancelled our Las Caletas ressie in PV so we plan to tour the Malecon a little on our own and then maybe go to one of beach hotels. I switched our Cabo Pool Resort excursion to the Beach Resort one, but am thinking of cancelling that too. I'm a little bummed that we don't have a longer day in Cabo.

Pulled out the bag of pirate stuff this weekend to figure out what we still fit into for pirate night dinner. pirate:
Just need to work on transfers from the airport to port and back, and maybe book a photo package and a rain forest day pass (never tried this).

20 DAYS TO GO!!!!

Welcome to the cruise. I am glad you enjoyed the journal. (seeing your pics Mindy brought a smile to my face). Please give me your kids names and I will personalize a cover sheet for them. I too am looking forward to giving this to them.

Hi all. One of the things I am looking forward too is the autograph items on the cruise. I know you can requests certain charcters or "all of them". My question is this, if you request "all of them" who didnt you get that you whish you did. And who is included in "allof them"? And finally, there is six of us. 3kids and three adults. All my three kids are getting pillowcases. My wife wants a mat and I am getting a 9" vinylmation. The other adult says I can get something else for myself. Well I cant decide what I want. I was thinking of a 3" vinylmation with only the fab 5. Any thoughts? What would you get?

These boards have contributed to my OCD planning and I'm so excited for the trip, our first family vacation with my two boys under 4. We will be returning to Los Angeles during the weekend of the Long Beach Grand Prixe and I'm just hoping it won't be a nightmare getting out of the parking garage. Just a heads up, I don't really know what to expect though!

Here's to a wonderful trip.
Cheers!

It shouldn't be a problem. The race takes place on the other side of the Port, which is huge. :thumbsup2

My question is this, if you request "all of them" who didnt you get that you whish you did. And who is included in "allof them"?

When we cruised in Jan. 2010 on the Magic, I asked for "all of them" to sign and this is who I got: Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, Pluto, Chip and Dale, Lilo, Stitch, Max (Goofy's son), Pinocchio, Jiminy Cricket, Belle, Cinderella, Princess Aurora, Snow White, Dopey, Peter Pan, Wendy Darling, Captain Hook and Mr. Smee.

That was really everyone we ever saw on the ship, so I don't think there were any others that could have been included, since they don't do signatures for characters not on the ship.

I was thinking of a 3" vinylmation with only the fab 5. Any thoughts? What would you get?

I like that idea! :thumbsup2 I'm a big fan of the fab 5 myself, so that would be what I would go for, as well :)

Hi - My friends did the Cabo Jeep, snorkel, swim tour with their 5 year old a couple years back and had a lot of fun (he also likes to race cars- so going off roading in a Jeep was especially appealling to the husband!)

We also have Palo brunch on Saturday, maybe we'll see you there!!! And I also just cancelled our Las Caletas trip so we could spend a liesurely day in PV.

I wish I could get a new Palo reservation for Tuesday. Our current one is Wednesday and with the dining rotation I requested, that is our first night in AP, which I believe is the only night they will do the show. :(

I just have to share this funny story .... I am apparently having some cruise anxiety. I had a dream last night that I got so seasick that I passed out whenever the ship was moving. I dreamt I boarded the ship, and then next thing I knew we were in PV ... I asked DF what happened and he said that as soon as the ship started moving I started puking and blacked out. LOL :lmao: When I woke up I told DF about the dream and all he could do was laugh at me and asked me if I've bought any seasickness meds yet.

The good news is PV was really nice and sunny in my dream, haha. :rotfl:

You are too kind! I actually took advantage of your first gift of sharing back in February and already made the whole journal(s), including the cover sheet. I pasted a DCL badge from your one link to the journal page from your other link. Personalized the badge and added a few more words, and voila!

They don't exactly match your cover sheets, but they are quite similar. Thanks again!

Our brunch is at 10:30 on Saturday. DH wasn't that interested in doing the brunch because he wanted to try dinner instead and thought one time in Palo was enough. But I really enjoyed the brunch last cruise and decided to treat myself and drag him along. The last full day of the cruise seems like a perfect time to relax up there with a Mimosa (even though we may be too full from lobster the night before to eat much brunch!!!)

I don't recall if you are getting on-board early, but you should definitely have a chance to switch your Wed Palo ressie once you board. Anyway, you should first cross-check against the actual dining rotation you are assigned to see if you really have a conflict with the AP show.

BTW, which rotation did you request?

I asked to be in Tritons for formal night, so they gave me PTTAPTA. I'll find out when I get to port if I actually got that rotation. :)

Also, FYI everyone, if you haven't checked in online yet, I did mine last night and the earliest check-in time available was 12:30pm. :scared1:

Is triton the best for formal night? Also I did my online check in right away. I got 10:00

Hi everybody. We got two cabins. We only listed one in the FE. My mother in law is going. She is also interested in doing the FE. If cowgirl1 is never to be found, could she take her spot? She is in the cabin next to us. We have connecting rooms.

It doesn't matter much, since I think it's the same menu for all the restaurants. But I read in my Passporters book that Triton is the fanciest of the restaurants so it's nice to be there for formal night. So, I put my request in for that rotation but I won't be heartbroken if I don't get it.
