04/10/2011 Mexican Riviera Cruise

Hi everybody. I would officially like to give all your kids my first gift. I still have an FE planned. Everybody liked my journals I did. I wanted to do one for each kid, but it just wasnt feasible. So I uploaded all the files I used to create my journal. See what you like, organize it how you like. I used card stock, so I printed double sided. The back cover and the front cover I printed on photo paper and laminated. The files with your kids names I have so far is the front cover personalized with your kids name. I suggest asking a disigner to personalize a welcome letter for you to include in your journal. After printing everything, I took it to a copy place to have it binded. Enjoy. I hope this all works. The link is below. Happy cruising from the Felix Family!!

Mindy, I am with you! I was looking through all the pics again and they ARE so cute that I'm going to make one for myself too :) Actually a good way to keep notes for a TR!

Calmom, just wanted to make sure you saw these replies as well .... :rolleyes1

I love Grand Californian! We just booked our wedding reception there. :lovestruc:bride:

Be sure to check out the stained glass sliding doors when you first enter the lobby. Most people miss them because it's such a high traffic area.

One of my favorite places to relax and have a drink is the outside fireplace. You can get a drink at the Hearthstone Lounge and then walk outside and sit by the fire. :cloud9:

Storytellers Cafe has a great character breakfast! It's not the Fab 5, but Chip and Dale are usually there, and some characters from Brother Bear. Much less crowded than the character breakfast at Paradise Pier and Goofy's Kitchen, but they are all good and the buffet is actually worth the price.

Napa Rose is an amazing restaurant but it's not so great for kids. They also have a lounge area where you can go and just have a drink and appetizer. If you go and the weather is nice, ask if you can be seated on the patio. The patio looks into DCA. If you just want to go to one fancy/expensive restaurant during your visit, make it the Blue Bayou. Be sure to call Disney Dining and make reservations at least a couple weeks ahead of time.

Take advantage of the direct park entry into DCA from Grand Californian. It is so convenient!!

Try the rapids ride at night! The lines are usually much shorter plus the darkness makes it a bit more adventurous. Ride it a couple times, then go back to your room to change clothes. :thumbsup2

If you don't have a "park view" room, IMO it is HIGHLY worth the extra money. During my last stay I had an (obstructed) view of World of Color.

If you have Magic Morning early park entry, take advantage of it! You can wake up early, go into the park for a couple hours, then go back to the hotel and take a nap. It is so worth it. Ride Space Mountain, Peter Pan, and Indiana Jones during Magic Morning.

If you go to California Adventure, get a fast pass immediately for Soarin, then go to Toy Story Mania. They are the most popular rides in the park and lines get very long very quickly. Toy Story has no fast pass.

If I can think of anything else I'll post it. :thumbsup2

We are also staying at GC, but just the night before. Maybe we'll see you there! :)

Mindyjoy gave some great park tips - I agree with everything she said :thumbsup2 I'd also make sure to get the fastpass for World of Color if you're planning on seeing it. The fastpass machine is right next to the GC "special" entrance, so you can get over there first thing in the morning and get a good section (I've gotten blue most of the time). The picnic option is also a good option if the machine is all out by the time you get there. We found it to be a better value than going to one of the sitdown restaurant options, but mostly because we just like to eat and then head to the next ride as quickly as we can!

As for non-park things, my DS8 absolutely LOVES to sit in the lobby at GC and watch the Mickey cartoons they play there throughout the day. As a matter of fact, he and my DH are doing that exact thing RIGHT now :)

I just uploaded one for every adult in our group. (cowgirl1, are you out there?) Mindy, I uploaded one individually for you and Tim, and a special one for you because you are celebrating your engagement. If anyoneone would like anything changed, feel free to ask and I will see what I can do. Now remember, I cannot take full credit for this. I got all the designs from the disigners out there. Thank them also.
On a side note, I just addeed my signature and avatar ( yes I am a Donald Duck fan)

I like him already.

Let's talk excursions! What is everyone doing? We aren't quite sure yet!

PV: We have Las Caletas booked but not 100% sure we are going to keep it.

Cabo day 1: Thinking about doing the horseback riding.

Cabo day 2: ?????? :confused3

Since we have a 2.5 year old with us our excursions were a bit limited due to age. We are doing PV beach excursion, 1st Cabo day also the beach/lunch excursion and the 2nd Cabo day the resort pool excursion. However we are thinking about canceling the last one and just do Cabo on our own. DH really wants to go to Cabo Wabo. (huge Van Halen fan/ Sammy).

We only have one excursion booked and that is in PV, the canapy tour. Cabo we are going to wing it but one of the days I will be spending a little time in an internet cafe to take a couple of tests for school.

We're going to be a little adventurous this time (well I am at least, my hubby always does adventurous stuff):

PV: zip line tour
Cabo Day 1: Just walk around on our own
Cabo Day 2: ATV beach tour

The canopy tour in PV does sound like fun, but I'm afraid of heights so I'm worried I'll pay all that money and then chicken out!!!

We have not booked any excusions, we are probably going to get a day pass at one of the resorts to use their beach. Do some shopping and touring the city.

Snow we have the pirate snorkel adventure in PV. The dolphin experience in cabo. And the Chilean snorkel in cabo. As of now we are probably going to cancel all three and just enjoy the boat or do some shopping.
