03/29/08, March 29, 2008 Eastern Magic - Who else?

meshellnpc-
Our 3 year old is a girl. She loves the Mickey pool and October was the first time she was able to go down the Mickey Slide. She was an inch too short, but they let her go.

And one of our good friends will be working in Youth Programing when we sail in March so she is even more excited.

Lisa-
Did Mason like use the Pirate Autograph book on the ship or was it when you guys were here in August? Did he like it? If so we have another one for him.....right before our October Cruise I stumbled on a huge sale.

And did he wear that Pirate costume. I thought of him the other day when we saw a bunch of those costumes.

Hi,

We just booked and look forward to joining all of you at the end of March! We are very much looking forward to cruising again! It's been a couple of years since we have.

It will be me, DW, DS (14) and DD (10). We done this a few times but are really looking forward to coming back and enjoying the fun all over again. The 7 night Eastern is our hands down favorite cruise!

Goofydadeo (aka John)

Has anyone put together a roll of all of us? We've done this in the past and it was a lot of fun to get to know each other in advance on our prior cruises.

Chuck, where in Florida? We're in Orlando. Now that I'm familiar with what an fe is and how they work, I see that it is actually for the kids. Do childless cruisers participate too?

That's exactly what mine says about eating in port; however, we are actually going to eat off ship this time around. We're going to Pinel Island at St. Maarten and one of the two restaurants there is listed as one of the best in the Caribbean 2007 by Conde Naste. Fresh lobster straight from the ocean brought in before your eyes. We're not particularly thrilled with the Eastern itinerary, but we DCL so much, we don't care where they dock :) I'm pretty much content to lay on my verandah (at least mine for the week) and read, sleep, or listen to the ocean. DD

John,
Funny you should mention the roll call. I was just thinking of that. I think I have a template to make the roll call from one of our last cruises,

Denghydeb,
I am closer to you then Chuck. I am in Kissimme at the border to Orlando.

As for the FE when we went in October close to half the participants had no kids. We actually had a list that said Room number then ages of kids or if no kids it was just the adults names. Some of the adults only rooms got neat things like socks, gum, lotions, I cannot think of anything else but there were some great things.

I think my mom wants to make an FE for her room as well.

We are in Weston which is just west of fort laudedale...FE's can be fun...lots of miscellaneous tuff turned up...we just need to make sure we have a list of participating cabins...also make sure they tie on good...if you are near a stairwell in particular, there have been issues w/FE's disappearing.

Chuck:cool1:

Chuck,

What we did to prevent the stealing of the FE was we ziptied them to the fish. Someone still could have taken it, but it would have been difficultand required tools. Just make sure that you have a good scissor to cut it off when it is time to go.

The only one on Turkey Day cruise who had theirs taken was adjacent to a stairwell where everyone could see it.

Are we ready to cruise or what?!! It's cold here in PNW and I am so ready for some sunshine!! I keep sending pictures of the sunny caribbean to my brother and his wife they are starting to get into the mania of planning! HA! Of course I directed them to the DIS!

I can't believe we are now up to page 8 thanks to ICEPADMAN for keeping us on page one! :) YOU ROCK!

As we get closer and if anyone has ideas about meeting, times and places, let us all know! Please add anyone to this list who so we can keep it updated. I don't want anyone to feel left out. Thanks all!

Kim

you may want to add cabin numbers, especially if the group plans to use fish extenders....we will be in 6630 for the 3rd time in 5 trips.

Chuck:cool1:

Also, the traditional disboards meeting time is about 4pm or so deck 10 midship overlooking the sailaway party and the dock (to see the big Mickey hands).

So does everyone have their shore excursions planned? For us it is partly planned:

1) St. Maarten: Grab a cab to Orient beach. Family tradition. Rent some chairs at one of the outfits midbeach (Bikini's the last two times). Hang out all day - boogie boarding, wave running, swimming for the boys. For mom and dad, beers and cocktails under the umbrellas, appetizers/grilled lobster for lunch. Considering running over to Pinel Island but don't know if there is a compelling reason to....

2) St. Thomas. Undecided. Last couple of times we charted private daysails. Are exploring the DCL run ones to St. John Buck Island. Feel like if we are going to do DCL, we should reserve soon before it fills up. Is there a high-demand sail/beach excursion that fills up faster?

St Maarten - we signed up for the 12 meter yachts racing excursion and then will probably shop.

St thomas - we will take our DS(8) off the boat for the cable car ride and then, probably, put him back in kids' club and then shop.

But for us, it is our first eastern after 4 westerns.

We are actually getting ready right now to head over to Fort Wilderness to have dinner with some friends including a few getting ready to reboard the Magic for their next contract. So we are so happy that we will get to see them when we cruise in March.

I can make a list of Just FE with room numbers, girl/boy, ages, or adult only. I can do it in a word doc and then post it when the time comes.

We got our confirmation numbers today so it is now official for us.

Off to eat dinner at the Buffeteria :)

Cool!

We're:

Angelhalo (late 20's) and Hubby to be (mid 30's)

We're in cabin 6096

Here is one of my door magnet graphics that I got today from M_I_C_K_E_Y! I love it!

Great picture Michelle!!

Mason used the pirate autograph book on our last DCL cruise, he loved it!! We brought with his new, thanks to you, costume. However, he thought it was too big and his old one still fit. We will be bringing the new costume in March!! pirate:
