01/04/05 4 Day Magic Roll Call

Ok, I did the seach and the hotel you can go to for free,
(and they welcome cruise ship people because they spend money
at the bar and for lunch) is the Wyndham Crystal Palace on
cable beach , according to what I read you can rent a towel for
$5.00.

So, that hotel is supposed to have nice beach? Sounds like a plan. I was looking into a dolphin encounter while there, but nobody has had any information on it.

The lime green Mickey heads or ribbons sound like a great idea. We will be able to put faces with all the messages.

We have a cat. 6 room. Are they ok? I got the veranda so I could sit alone with husband after little goes to bed. Our 17 yr old will probably stay out all night.

We are by the elevators though so it will probably be noisy. But maybe be easier for our 10yr old to find the room.

Does everyone get a room key? I want both boys to have one so the can come and go as t hey want.

Thanks
Dorinda

Tammi I think our group is very close to your stateroom
we are in cat 4 8060 and yes we are less then 120 days
thats less then 4 months:bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Dorenda, yes everyone will have a key to the cabin, it is like a credit card. It is used as your room key, to pay for purchases (in the stores, video game cards, beverages etc.) This card is also your identification for getting off the ship at ports. Everyone must have one to get off the ship. Adults over 18 must also have a picture ID with them.

Everyone's card is programmed to be used like a credit card. If you don't want your children to be able to purchase things with it, you have to go to guest services and have this privilege removed.

Some people also "decorate" their cabin doors to help their kids find their way home. A magnet or picture or something that will show your kids the right room.

If your 17yearold is out all night he will probably be hanging out with my daughter who is 17 too. :teeth: Although I prefer that she doesn't stay out all night, usually a bunch of teens spend the last night of the cruise staying up all night.

:wave2: everybody!!! Nice to see that we are all counting down the days!!!

Dorenda - the phone number for the Disney Cruise Line on board passengers is:

1 - 888 - DC - AT - SEA

The call gets put through to your cabin and if you are not there then a voice message will be taken.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I wonder how they know which ship to route the call to :scratchin

Just wanted to say "HI" to the new cruisers!

Also, thanks to Tammi for offering to host the meet - I'm looking forward to it.

DD and I had a great trip to the "World" for my birthday, but I probably won't do it again...it's just TOO HOT (and crowded) in August!

My dad let it slip the other day about the cruise to DD, but I think I covered it up. Even if she suspects, she doesn't know for sure and definitely not when it is.

Even though I don't post often, I check in to see what's going on, and to watch the counter go down! Can't wait 'till January!!!

6 of us --- Grownups all. Mom, Dad, Mom in Law and Aunt - plus DW and me. Almost to 4 month mark!

:wave2: sam08223, and welcome aboard to you and all of your "crew"

Do you think this cruise will be sold out? I`m asking because I`m debating about trying to upgrade at the port.

We`ll be in a cat. 12. When we booked this cruise it was an added bonus to our trip to Florida and I just could`nt justify the extra expense of a higher catagory to an already out of control budget.

Although we`ll all be happy in our stateroom, I can`t help but hanker after a verandah.

Thanks
Merylj

It is hard to know if the cruise will be sold out or not.

You could go on the Disney Cruise Line site and see how many categories they say are left.

If it is important to you to have a verandah, then you should not wait too long.

To us it is not important because we hardly spend any time in our cabin at all, mainly to sleep and to change for dinner.

Thanks Robin,

I think I`ll just leave things as they are. We probably will spend little time in our stateroom as well.

We're at the 4 month mark and there is still lots of room left on this cruise sailing. My agent indicated that there is still availability in the first dining rotation and I have had no problem with adding any type of stateroom for our large group.

I'm no expert, but I'm expecting that the combination of the out-of-the-ordinary dates and itenerary for the Magic, coupled with the traditionally slow time of year, will result in an unfilled boat at cruise time.

Another piece of info that seems to indicate light bookings thus far ... the room rates for the January 2nd Wonder Cruise are significantly higher than the January 4th Magic Cruise.

Jeff, I think you are exactly right. Initially I didn't even look at the 4 night cruise because it just wasn't going to work with our schedule. If it wasn't for these boards, I never would have known about it. In fact, when I first saw this thread, I was going to post and tell everyone that they either had their dates wrong or the ship wrong  . Was I surprised when I finally figured out what was going on. When I made the switch from the 3 night to the 4 night, I actually saved a few hundred dollars. ::yes::

Our May cruise was 100% booked, but I never felt like there was a crowd. It will be very interesting to be on board when there are so few.

Tammi

Robin,

Where are you staying when you go to Disney in two weeks?

I am hoping we will be able to stay on grounds again sometime next year. Our favorite place is the Caribbean Beach resort.

Dorenda

Yes it will be nice if the ship is not totally full. But even when it was a full cruise I have never felt crowded at all.

Hi Dorenda: We are staying at the POP Century when we go later this month. At least I hope there is some of Florida left by the time we get there with all of these hurricanes

HI Robin,

Yes I hope there is some of Florida left as well. My father in law has a home there (he is here during the summer), I hope it's still there when he goes back in November.
I see that they redid some of the cruise schedules due to the hurricane. Pretty scarey stuff. I hope nothing like that happens when we go.

Dorenda

When we go in January we will have to worry about blizzards keeping us from getting the Florida ;)
