I was lucky to snag a 3-night stay in October to celebrate my 50th birthday! I have a standard studio (with a tub) booked and I would *LOVE* to get one of the "alternate" studios. What is the best way to request one of those rooms? I would like a higher floor too, but the room "type" trumps the location preference.

I would make my only request highest floor. Every tub room (not on the first floor) is an alternate layout. There are a couple on the first floor too, but requesting highest floor guarantees that if the request is met you get the alternate layout.

But I assume a lot of people put this request in.

Wanted to cross post from the WL Resort thread for anyone going soon:

Currently at WL - the cranes are still outside BRV doing some refurb on the exterior. We saw them working Friday afternoon while we were at the pool area, but had I not actually seen the crane and the equipment, I never would have known - it's been very quiet and unobtrusive.

I'm excited that I snagged a 5 night stay at CC for the end of August! We had a split stay with AKL Jambo Value and BLT Lake view studio - but not having to move AND get to stay at the Lodge pulled me in!

First time staying in a studio there (tub) and while I'll request an upper floor - I'll be happy no matter what!

Hi all CCV owners & lovers.... Ooo I like the sound of that!

After months of researching DVC I decided to make CCV my home resort! (At least my first home resort). Our contract was was accepted last week and we are in ROFR purgatory... say a quick prayer we make it through. 🙏

My family and I have walked through the lobby once or twice, but we have never stayed at the resort. I was wondering if you... my CCV people, could share your experience staying at CCV. Do you have any favorite traditions, hangout spots, running trails, or must try food on my next visit?

Also, did any of you experience the Spa when it was operating? Any rumors on when/if they plan to open it back up?

Thank you for the feedback!

One of the things we love about Wilderness Lodge is being able to head back after a long park day and grab really good food with no advanced reservations or planning. Territory Lounge has some wonderful bar bites (and great drinks) that easily make a meal. If you ask nicely, you should be able to get the mushroom soup from Artist Point. Geyser Point has fantastic food and you cannot beat the views. Try to time it so that you can see the higher fireworks from MK and then catch the Water Pageant. It's the perfect end to your day.

Of course, the Lodge really shines at Christmas. It's my favorite resort for the holidays - sorry Grand Floridian!

Assuming you beat ROFR (and based on current trends you probably will) - Welcome Home!!

I have been watching for awhile for a fixed
Week resale for a cabin. I’m sure there aren’t many out there. Any idea how to find one? Assuming I could do in a direct list for a foreclosure…thanks

I’m guessing it’s unlikely there is one for a cabin given the cost associated with them. I’d say generally speaking there isn’t a need/reason for a FW on the cabin when they rarely (if ever) sell out exactly at 11 months. That being said i think a resale contract would be best bet for a cabin and doesn’t need the FW.

Now a lot of the year they don’t even sell out at 7 months so you might be able to purchase a cheaper resort via resale and go about it that path.

New Permit for Wilderness Lodge Suggests Lengthy Project Through 2026

A refurbishment of Wilderness Lodge may be on the horizon, with a lengthy permit recently filed that would see work contracted through the end of 2026. The permit, filed by Disney’s Facility Asset Management team and contracted to Adena Corporation, lists “general construction” as the scope of the work. The interesting part of this permit is the December 25, 2026 end date. Typically, these Notice of Commencement permits have a standard expiration date of a year after they’re filed. Whenever an end date more than a year into the future is listed, we assume that the scope of the work is larger than a quick bit of work.

Adena Corporation is a large contractor that has done work with Disney in the past. The scope of work is wide, encompassing everything from roller coaster work to venues like the NBA Experience. Unfortunately, they are not the type of specialized contractor that would allow us to narrow our scope of speculation. That said, they have typically worked on theme park projects in the past with Disney, and normally they have worked with Walt Disney Imagineering.

The Wilderness Lodge project is different than we’ve come to expect with Adena. The work is owned by Disney’s Facility Asset Management, suggesting that the work is less creative and more maintenance/preventative.
Disney World has not announced any long-term projects for Wilderness Lodge yet, but there is an ongoing refurbishment of exterior spaces at the Boulder Ridge Villas section of the resort. That work is currently scheduled to wrap up around the end of this year. Clearly, the work in this new permit is of a larger scope and longer timeframe horizon given the December 2026 expiration date for the permit. Something to keep an eye on.

Anyone want to speculate? going there next summer for a big family event!
Maybe the refurb of the CCV rooms, it is due! The hotel rooms were done during covid and BRV started about about 2 years ago now. Might be their time.

They are scheduled to start sometime next year, so could be it. And some thing weird was happening with the inventory for next June (a lot of rooms had little to no inventory).

Let's hope for Murphy beds! If that is the reason for the permit. Fingers crossed!

Wilderness Lodge Expansion? Disney's New Permit Hints at Potential New Disney Vacation Club Units

Walt Disney Imagineering has filed a construction permit for an unknown project near to Disney's Wilderness Lodge at Walt Disney World.

Most significantly, the permit carries an extended expiration date through March 31, 2027, is assigned to one of Disney's major construction partners, Balfour Beatty, and has been filed by Walt Disney Imagineering.

Construction Permit Location - Disney's Wilderness Lodge July 2024

The permit identifies multiple locations along Wilderness Way, which do not match any existing known property address at Walt Disney World. The only known mention of this address is in relation to the abandoned Reflections Disney Vacation Club project, where Wilderness Way served as the approach road.

The permit's description is "Site and facility improvements," and there are 19 addresses ranging from 570 W. Wilderness Way to 728 W. Wilderness Way and 910 Timberline Dr.

Interestingly, Wilderness Way is located very close to the existing 14 Copper Creek Cabins at Wilderness Lodge, which raises the possibility of Disney planning to build more Disney Vacation Club units in this area.

Adding further intrigue to today's WDI permit is yesterday's activity, which saw Disney file a permit for Wilderness Lodge with another major vendor, Adena.

Disney has yet to announce a refurbishment, expansion or any update to the Wilderness Lodge Resort.

It's since be determined that this permit is most likely for a resurrection of the Reflections project:

Their article states this permit is different...

Note that this permit is different than a permit that suggests that Disney is going to build a hotel over at Disney’s Fort Wilderness.
