“Official” 2018 Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party – Strategy and Itinerary Thread

This is my first ever post on DIS boards.

October 11 - Me and DS (7)
I'm so all over on what I think we want/need to do. I know we'll be getting to MK around 3:15. We will want to meet Jack and Sally, view one of the parades, one of the hocus pocus, and Hallowishes. Other than that, probably some rides (Space, 7DMT, Tea cups, HM,BMTRR, POtC) and trick or treating for the kiddo. I'm thinking a more relaxed party to enjoy the sights and sounds, so if we don't get to everything, it will be ok.

Let's start from the beginning. So how are you getting in line at "3:45-5:15 In line for Jack and Sally"?

Are you dressing up? We're going as Ariel and Sid from Toy Story.

Don't sweat Frozen. I got that one easily with lots of options this morning for 30 days out

Not to thread hijack, but I was under the impression he did sign autographs at the Bon Voyage breakfast...can you point me to where you heard that he doesn't sign?

She's wonderful and your boys will be very happy with their choice! You should prepare them to meet her with questions or comments they can say to her, make this interaction the best it can be!

Looking at your itinerary I think we'll need to tweak a few things:

• 4 to 4.40 pm. wristbands at philharmagic.

Waay to much time here. It should take you at the most 15 minutes. Again we'll work on this when I get back.

Please note SEPTEMBER party goers will have priority.

Also, hoping that we can get one of the specialty desserts (if lines aren't crazy), maybe a little shopping, and a trick or treat station or two (as we pass them).

I had no idea on wait times for some of the characters. I am hoping some will be less during the fireworks. Thanks for any input.

Not to thread hijack, but I was under the impression he did sign autographs at the Bon Voyage breakfast...can you point me to where you heard that he doesn't sign?

Confirming that he signed for us last year.

I thought they only gave pre signed cards at the breakfast? If I'm wrong I'll be very happy about that because then we wont have to wait during party time and I can change my Ariel fast pass to something else.

Just wanted to add, things keep changing at WDW. Last year Cruella had a specific M&G location, Dwarfs and Pooh & gang gave out autographed cards after you met them. Lotso is another unknown, one year he signed the next he didn't. Just saying it's a bit early to know every single detail plus what happens at one party might be different during another.

If you plan on bringing your autograph book anyway, it never hurts to ask.

I don’t have a complete itinerary for our party on 8/28 because we’re playing a lot by ear depending on what the lines for different characters are but we’re definitely meeting Jack and Sally, Moana and Queen of Hearts and the Tweedles so I’ll come back after the party with reports of who we meet and when!

We are going on the same day, we also have twins - Son (7), Daughter (7).
I´m just curios when your FP day was, since we couldn´t get one for 7DMT. Our FP day was Aug 3rd.

Our party is on 9/7 and it is DH, DD (who turns 6 two days before the party!) and myself and we are Disney Bounding as Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore

3:00-4:00 In the gates, get a bite to eat from Casey's, take a couple of pics on Main Street
4:00-4:30 Bypass (wristbands, treat bags, photos, Oogie Boogie necklace)
4:30-6:10 Moana - She meets at 5:45 in the Enchanted Tiki Room
**Tag Team: DH and DD2 Pirates of the Caribbean - 30 Minutes
**Tag Team: Mom and DD2 Magic Carpets and Swiss Family Treehouse - 30 Minutes
6:15-6:35 Get Snacks or take family photos...
6:40-7:30 Get in line for Tom Sawyer Trick-or-Treat and Grave Diggers (maybe Oogie Boogie bucket)
7:30-8:30 H.M. Butler Broome and Haunted Mansion and Trick-or-Treat
8:30-9:00 Trick-or-Treat on our way to Tomorrowland and grab a snack

Yeah, Cruella and Lotso are our only must do's for my kids, but they don't care about the pictures. They just want their autographs.

Not sure how much of this is doable and I also have an empty space for 6-7pm and all of our must do's are scheduled in except Mad Tea Party, but I don't really want to criss-cross the park. The only other thing we want to do is get as many magic shots as possible. What do you think?

I would agree with not wanting to crisscross the park. Very smart. It was easy to become distracted (although we had a loose plan at best) last fall, and it was 2 adults! You could always squeeze in teacups on the way to/from the dance party...especially if the line isn't super long... ? Your plan looks awesome and not TOO packed

Prince Eric has always signed at breakfast for us.

They do give out pre signed cards at breakfast but they also sign!

Is there a touring plan needed for the Halloween party? We're planning to attend the 28th's party, and I haven't made a single plan for it other than arrive at 4pm and go to the 2nd parade.

You definitely need a plan if you want to meet characters that are in high demand. Are there any characters you want to meet?
