~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Thanks to all for the warm welcome(s). Have any of you done "this" (week following Thanksgiving) cruise before?

It sounds like the boat will be decorated for Christmas...Great! (correct me if I'm wrong). I guess I'll need my Christmas Beach Wear :)

My wife & I plan on diving in GC & Cozumel...anyone else diving too?

This is our fifth time in a row going this week. We love it. Ship is decorated - go to tree lighting, check out the big gingerbread house, performers sometimes carol in the atrium lobby, Mrs. Claus sometimes reads stories to the children in the atrium. It's a great week to cruise!

Hi ILoveDisney&Cruising -

Ok haveing had some expreience this time of year :worship: - what is your honest opinion of the water temps on the stops?

Thanks so much!

Ok I'm not the OP but we have been every year for the last five and the water temps are warm in GC and Coz and a bit on the cool side at CC but swimmable. Overall the weather has been great every year. One year we had rough seas for a day but that was on an eastern itinerary.

Michael: This is our 4th time cruising the week after Thanksgiving. Our first cruise was Thanksgiving week. We love to go the week after Thanksgiving. We've cruised with Gailyn and Jeff before. (You 2, please don't tell them what I'm really like )

Ok lets see whats on my To-Do List today:

FE (Check)
FE Gifts (working on them)
Expense sheet (not done)
Packing (not done)
Plane Reservations (check)
Rental Car Reservations (check)
Hotel for the night before (check)
Reservations for Palo (check)
Reservations for excursions (check)
Magnets for door (picked out, not printed)
Rum Runners purchased (not done)
Buy a NEW camera (not done)

Is there anything I'm missing? Oh that's right. WE CRUISE NEXT MONTH. Plenty of time to get it all done.

50 days Ladies and Gentleman. Ok 49 and a wake up. Makes it sound better.

Everyone have a great day, I will be lurking all day.

OK, I was fine until I started reading the latest posts. We are definitely on the downhill side! I know there will be a mad scramble as those things I forgot to do start popping into my head.

We saved all our magnets from the last cruise, but of course we have to take a few out and add a few new. I think the boys would have liked Disney to make bigger cabin doors so they could have fit more magnets on them! :upsidedow

I think my biggest task right now is trying to get my DW to let me buy a new lens for the camera. :worship:

Ok, I broke down and ordered a real FE from Etsy as well.

Question for you DCL veterans ... are the pools on the boat heated? If not, are they warm enough to swim during our week? (Just didn't want my DS to turn blue.) :lmao:

DARCY - Do we have a *drum roll" final FE list/count?

Can't wait for NEXT MONTH! :cool1:

Thanks!

Yup, pools are heated....they usually run between 80-82 degrees. The pool temps are always posted on the ship's channel. WE usually keep it there as it cycles through the trip, shows temps where we are or are going, route, where we've been, where we're going, ship's speed, wind speed, ocean waves (I :lovestruc "wavelets!") wind directions, etc.

I am soooo glad that the pools will be warm and this paticular week is usually nice weather down there! Was wondering how cool it would be, but thinking back to the times we were in Disney in December, it was pretty warm!

You can tell that we are edging closer - everyone is getting a little "jiggy". :cheer2: :goodvibes

I got motivated to be a tad crafty last night, and so made some tip envelopes. I've always just used plain white envelopes, and...I'll probably use plain white envelopes in the future :rotfl2: Fiddly and time consuming for something that I'm sure will be ripped open and tossed in the trash. :rotfl:

I know that the water temps will be on the cool side for me, given that we like our water WARM here in Texas. :goodvibes I'm going to brave it in Grand Cayman for sure. :)

TONYA - "Rum Runners purchased"... I know a drink called a Rum Runner is that what you're talking about?

Rum Runners are plastic bags that hold booze or other non-carbonated beverages. We thought we would try these Rather than taking glass bottles this time. :drinking1

Had this on the oepn forum, but I think the veterans here are probably more knowledgeable ... How cold are the dining rooms & theatres? I'm wanting to buy a cute sailor shorts suit for my DS and am not sure if it's too cold in the dining rooms/theatres/Oceaneers Club to swear a shorts/summer suit?

Thanks - glad to have some reassurance!

My DS never thought it was cold in the dining room/theatre/clubs, but DD would sometimes put on her sweater at dinner. I would always bring one with me, but didn't use it that much.

I think the sailor shorts suit sounds perfect, just mabye bring a sweatshirt (zip up hoodie?) that he can put on if he is chilly....

Cool! :cool1: THANK YOU for being the official keeper of the list, you've done a great job! :wizard: Glad that RacheltAtt got in touch. :thumbsup2

Darcy, the list is wonderful...very organized and great info! Thanks so much for taking this on for us.

Can't wait to meet everyone!!!!

Great List!!!! As a fellow spreadsheet creating lover, GOOD JOB! Thanks a bunch for organizing this whole thing! You Rock:dancer:

awww, shucks. Thanks everyone! Glad you all like the list and the way it's organized. I had done this on my own for the list last year (I wasn't the official keeper), but then the organizer ended up using mine for the final. :goodvibes

Makes you all warm and fuzzy when people like your spreadsheet. :rotfl2: Yes, I know, I already confessed that I'm a total spreadsheet/table geek. Glad I could put it to good use!

I "ordered" some custom magnet DISsigns for our door the other night, got most of them back, just waiting on a couple more. Hoping to work on the clothes packing this weekend between all the games, we'll see if that happens or not!

Darcy - My spreadsheet for our WDW part of the trip has almost overwhelmed me. :surfweb: You should definitely be proud of your spreadsheet! :goodvibes

There are a couple of decks that will make life easy!! Although I've never been on a cruise ship, but I'm expecting to do a LOT of walking. :scared:

I'm ready to start my FE extravaganza this weekend :cool1: I still need a couple of small items to work on my "semi-crafty" one, but I can run and get those tomorrow, along with a bottle of wine, which will not make it into a FE gift, but will for sure be a part of the process. ;) :rotfl2:

I also got my door magnet stuff printed out today :thumbsup2

We leave for our WDW portion of our trip 6 weeks from tomorrow...it's going to FLY by!

I guess I'm getting swept up in the FE fever because it really hit home today that it's right around the corner....I'm excited!! :yay:
