~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Woo Hoo! I have Klondike's (our furbaby girl) Vacation Villa at Best Friends all set for the week. We have several friends who will be at WDW that week also, one who will be bringing their own furbaby and another who is interested in seeing the new pet resort...they will keep an eye on our baby during the week. Also have WL all set for our arrival on the 4th after the cruise, and made a CP dinner package reservation for that evening.

Now, to finish up my FE goodies and get my packing lists down pat!

Under 11 weeks!!!!

Cindy,

Congratulations that sounds like fun (for furbaby and for U)! I love CP -we haven't been for several years.

Regarding Grand Cayman - Here is the info from Capt Marvin's regarding the "all day excursion with lunch". I don't think we'll add on the turtle farm city tour. I don't want to cut it that close on time.

"Thanks for writing! If the Disney Magic's schedule remains as it has been in
the past, your last tender will be at 4:30. This means that you could take
our full day stingray/snorkel trip (9:30-2:30), with the Hell/Turtle Farm
tour immediately following (2:45-4:15) and still get back to your ship in
time. In case you haven't already seen it, our web site at
www.captainmarvins.com contains all the information on our trips, times,
prices, and location near the cruise ship pier, as well as an on-line
reservation form for booking with us.

Let me know if you have any questions after you have read through our web
site, and I will be happy to answer them for you. I look forward to hearing
from you again!
Ruth for Capt. Marvin's"

I agree that it's good to see the board hopping and it's good to see everyone's plans! :goodvibes

We are also going to AKL on the 4th. :thumbsup2 We are leaving WL to go to Port on the Saturday. We are booked to use DCL transportation right now, but I'm getting itchy feet on that whole deal and I now have booked for DH to do the RPDE on the afternoon of the 4th (which is going to be a suprise birthday present for him), so I think we would be best to do a town car to AKL so that we can be sure of making it in time. Decisions, decisions. We are booked with Tiffany roundtrip for the MCO/WDW legs so if I go that route I'll just use them for the WDW/Port.

11 pm tonight is the magic window opening for us poor first timey cruisers. We are booked for the 3 stop Capt Marvins in Caymans as I think we'd like to try and get to 7 mile beach as well if we feel like it. We (meaning me ;) ) have changed again on Cancun and now I'm going to try and get us booked for the Mexican Cooking workshop. And I'm absolutely positively almost sure that we will probably do that. :rotfl2:

Wow - looks like everyone is going to Capt. Marvin's. Looks good and if we weren't doing our dolphin swim here, I could totally be on board.

Well, we officially changed our excursion for Cozumel to Fury Beach Party. Looked like alot of good reviews and seemed like slots were filling up. We leave at noonish and get back around 5. Will this leave time for shopping ahead of time?

We too are staying at Disney prior to leaving. SSR/VWL split for two nights and then to port night before. We are DVC members and waitlisted for the VWL for first night and for our home at Kidani for both nights. Keep checking each day though hoping for two nights in row any resort. Would be so much easier than switching for just one night. Think SSR would be perfect for both nights as well since alot of our plans involve downtown Disney. Keep hoping and it can't hurt to keep trying.

Anyone else doing the dolpin thing in Caymen?

Also, anyone else have a 13 yr old? Which option are they taking, Teen Club or tween club?

We are doing the dolphins in Grand Cayman, from 9:15 - 1:15. Are you on the same one? I have twin DD and DS who will be almost 9 when we sail (we are celebrating their birthday on the cruise). :goodvibes

No, ours doesn't leave until 11:30 ish, I think the early one was gone but I might recheck. I'd love to have enough time to shop before or after. Hubby is only doing the encounter and not the swim.

What a cool way to celebrate their birthday!!! And dolphins too!:wizard:

I keep having trouble seeing how long we are in port. This is only our second disney cruise and I keep getting lost on the website.

Hi all,

This is our 1st cruise (I know...don't know why we waited so long!) and am loving all of the info/tips that I am reading here.

I am curious about the DCLshuttle from WDW to the port. We want to get there as early as possible and I have been reading that we may have to wait for the shuttle. I have a 3 & 5 yr old and they are up and at em early (I am sure most of you know the drill...hehe!).

Do you recommend taking the DCL shuttle or doing something else?

Thanks a bunch & I look forward to getting to know you all a bit better before we sail!

:) Rachael

Shuttle is convenient because it takes your luggage and you don't have to deal with it. However, we don't have the patience to wait. I think last year, the shuttle didn't pick up at the Beach Club until 12:30 or 1 p.m. We prefer to be at the port closer to 10-10:30. So we take a towncar or limo.

Rachael, it's our first cruise too. We didn't want to get to the terminal as late as the shuttle would arrive. I checked out rental cars one-way from WDW and will actually save money by renting a car. Plus, that allows us to make stops for alcohol, etc. between WDW and the cruise.

Today was a getting-ready-for-cruising day! Went to Target and picked up the first batch of sundries and such. Then it was off to DSW for a pair of fancy flips for casual night dinners. Topped the evening off with dinner at Bahama Breeze where I had a Bahamarita (frozen mango, kiwi, and strawberry margarita with a citrus fruit schnapps float on top), Ropa Vieja, and Warm Chocolate Pineapple Upside Down Cake.

I'm so ready!!!

I'm up, waiting waiting waiting for 11 pm my time. Ready to see what possible reservations I can make. After that adrenaline rush, how exactly will I fall asleep and be ready for work in the morning?!:surfweb:

Me too :surfweb: The DCL site seems slow already hopefully we won't have too many problems.

It is 12:05 am Eastern. Why isn't our cruise available yet?

Hopefully you got in Lisa. I was able to right after 11:00 pm (CDT) :confused3 I got everything I wanted. Mexican Cuisine Workshop in Cozumel, Parsailing and a couples massage on Castaway Cay and Palo dinner on the last night (DH's 40th). :thumbsup2

I got everything I wanted: Fury Catamaran in Cozumel, spa packages I'd hoped for when I was wanting them. Booked the Rassule twice, in hopes hubby and I love it so much we want more!

Glad to hear you finally got in and managed to get what you wanted. I was wondering how you got on. I added an Exotic Rasul to ours too...just one though as we are doing the Cabana Massage on CC.

So...ressies all made...check! Seriously need to start on the FE stuff now. I just LOVE planning..it's so much fun! :cool1:

We are actually staying at port night before after magic hours at Epcot. Didn't want to use our DVC points just to sleep when we planned to be at port early.

There is a really good discount code posted out on the treads for Budget. I can't seem to find code right now but is saved us bunch on our one-way rental.

Quick question, how early can/ should you arrive at port? My dh was going to drop us off at port then return car. Or we could return car and take hotel shuttle but the shuttle charges $6 a person so it seems like a waste.

Hello all! We just got back from a quick getaway to Disney World. Can I say that I am even more excited about this cruise than i was before this weekend.

We have all of our excursions and was finally able to get out Palo reservation. Hopefully it will not be on the pirate night or anything else special.

So I have to ask, who is gunning for one of the new Cabanas on Castaway Cay? My parents are joining us on this cruise and it sounds like it will be a great addition to our day, if we can get one.

We have started to work on our FE gifts, i guess we should make out FE at some point.

Arrival at the port - we were there around 10AM, I think and the security line was starting to build, but we wanted to upgrade. It sure took a while for noon to come around, at least it felt that way.

Just booked the Exotic Rasul for hubby & I!!!!! So excited that we will have an hr of "special/fun time" ;) to ourselves...hehe!

Wow, how cool to just be back.

Thanks for the input on port.

Can anyone tell me, is paying for upgrade at port cheaper than normal booking?

Can u pay for uprage at port if you booked on points? We have OV but ds would love a verandah.
