~ºoº November 27, 2010- Western Magic! ºoº~

Aaaaahhhh -- I must have misread the list of hours - I thought it said EMH started at 7 p.m. and would be over at 10 (which I found odd) but that changes everything. Looks like BCV here we come!

Nice! BCV and Epcot...doesn't get much better than that!!!

And if we can play it right, we can race to Hollywood Studios for EMH at 8 a.m. the next day and ride Rockin Roller Coaster before getting our ride to the ship!

Hi everyone!

Anabel- My son Mikey is 3, I am sure he and Baron will keep the CM's in the club busy ;)

We have the Dophins in Cozumel booked through Disney, Key West we'll do :
http://www.trolleytours.com/key-west/
on our own, not through Disney

Not sure about Grand Cayman yet... :surfweb:

We'll be at the Radisson at the Port the night before- our flight only gets in a 4:30pm, and coming from NY- we might be delayed by weather- as much as I wanted to go to WDW it didn't seem to make sense for us.

Thank you, Dawn. We'll be sure to look for Mikey.

BTW - Is everyone on this thread looking to have a "meet & greet" once we're all onboard? In case this has been discussed before, I apologize. Still haven't had the chance to go through the entire thread.

We are going to do Key West on our own too, with the Trolley Tour. I liked the ability to get on and off and go at your own pace. My older DD will just have turned 8, so I am sure sure would like to meet a few kids her age at the outset of the cruise. Then she might "know" someone in the clubs or around the pools, etc.. Other DD will just have turned 2 on Thanksgiving, so will be with us or in Flounders. She would still like to play with other kids though.

Survived the tropical storm here in Texas despite the drenching :thumbsup2

We are debating what we will have time to do the morning of departure day. Seems that the cruise buses pick up from WDW about 11-noon but the parks will be crazy-crowded from the holiday weekend and so we'll probably have a nice lazy morning at the hotel. May as well kick the cruise off the right way - lazy and eating :rotfl2:

It's good to see all the activity and chatter on here as we edge closer and closer. :woohoo:

Wasn't the soaking awful? We also had the extra surprise of severe weather on Wednesday night in Dallas. I'm glad Hermine decided to move on :)

We are also doing the Trolley Tour on our own in Key West. My DD and DS are 8 (almost 9) when we cruise. I think there are quite a few in that age range!

We'll be on the trolly tour too! Like being able to get on and off where you want.

I just looked at the calendar and realized we have something almost every weekend from now to the cruise! Now that the weather is cooling off I feel like I should be pulling out the suitcases and putting some shorts/swimsuits in them! Should I be locked up or are there others out there thinking the same thing?

No, you are not alone! Last year, when I packed away the summer clothes, I packed what I thought we'd want to bring into the suitcases (with some dryer sheets). It made packing MUCH easier...of course I put aside too much, but at least it was all there to choose from!

We don't have plans every weekend (yet), but we are booked with flag football and softball games through the end of October, potentially through the first weekend in November if DS makes the All Star team for Flag Football and we travel to NJ for playoffs....

and then it's a short few weeks until packing and SAILING!!! :dance3:

Nope, did the same thing last year as I thought how ridiculous for me to store it all away only to pull it back out in a month or two...besides, it helped make it feel like the time was getting close! And it is! :yay: That said, I haven't put anything away, I know Indian Summer is still lurking and after this brutal summer, methinks it might be a little rough!!!

I'm so ready for this cruise, and following it, we will meet up with our kids and grandkids for a week of fun in WDW!! :dance3:

That sounds lovely! I'm hoping my parents can join us for a few days at the park after the cruise. We've ordered tickets for Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party for one evening, which I'm sure the kids will love.

Anyone out there have a 3-5 yo that loves the pool? Last year, DS spent 90% of his time playing in the pool, so would love to find a friend for him to splash with. I'm not sure how much I'll be moving around at that point!

Hi Everyone,

I am so ready for this cruise. Normally, we vacation twice a year but when my husband got laid off, we could only afford one this year. So it has been a full 12 months. Fortunately, he got a job. I am just hoping a good time. Was rough year with that, and me being in and out of hospital with pancreatitis. Hope the bad gallbladder coming out cured that. Two months, hospital free. Yipee!!!! Now to drink more water, tis' by achilles heel. The whole drinking enough water, 2 kidney stones later I should know better. Funny how we can get our kids to do the "right" thing but we have trouble ourselves.

Anyways, looking forward to warm weather. Have neer been any further than Bahamas and this looks even more beautiful. We are from Northern Indiana near Notre Dame and it's getting colder now. I am finally realizing I may need to close pool soon but am trying to hold off for that last minute "Indian Summer".

Still debating my excursion. Showed ds and dh the fury thing and they said they could do that and mabye we'd have time to shop afterward? We originally booked Xel-ha but it seems like most of your time (4 hrs or so) is spent travelling. Since we've never been to Cozumel seems kind of a wast of time.

For those who have booked Fury, do you have time to go to cabin and change afterwards to shop around Cozumel? Also, is there shopping near port? And can a non-swimmer do the Fury thing? My dh is not a swimmer, although he can stay afloat. Could he hang out on board during the snorkel thing? And then enjoy the beach floats?

Look forward to seeing everyone in November.

We will be at WDW Tuesday before Thanksgiving and will take a car service to the port Saturday morning. I'm too impatient to wait for Disney transportation.:yay:

We've had such nice weather the last week - cool but sunny. I'll be putting summer clothes in the suitcases sooner that I thought!:sad1:

I received a prompt email back from Capt Marvin's web site that said that if Disney's schedule was the same as usual, we had plenty of time for a full day. I'll go back through my email and send the exact info later. I think that's what we'll do. The reviews for Capt Marvin's that I read were very good :thumbsup2. We'd love to have others join us!:goodvibes

Still undecided about Cozumel. DH is on the fence. Now he's thinking Dolphinaris again. It was wonderful and we all loved it, but we just did it Nov '08. I'd like to do Nachi. Still have to nail that down.

We're having a clam bake and steak roast tonight with DH's family and all the cousins. It's a perfect day for it. Cool and sunny.

All for now,
Gailyn:)

This from Disney Cruise line website:
Please note that the return time for this excursion is approximately 5:30 p.m., which may affect the 1st seating dinner.

Planning late dinner, always do that. Our ds is 13 and prefers to spend time w/ the other kids and hubby and I are used to eating late. Typical for us since we don't get home from work til 6 or 7.

Thinking more and more of Fury. Anyone here been and enjoyed it?

Thanks,

Amy

Glad I'm not the only one thinking of putting clothes aside!

Popovich - which Captain Marvin's Cruise were you thinking? I think I am looking to book Grand Cayman on our own and was looking at Moby Dick tours.

Anyway - it was absolutely gorgeous weather here today - hope everyone else is enjoying a great weekend too!

I love checking my subscribed threads and seeing new posts here all the time! You can tell we are all getting more and more excited as the departure time gets closer. :cool1:

The weather is great here in CT this weekend...cool for sleeping and then beautifully sunny during the day. Yesterday it was downright HOT at DD's softball game...hoping today is a little cooler for her game.

Every time someone mentions another excursion, I rethink our plans...so many options! I'd love to say we'll do some on another cruise, but I think this will be it for a while for cruising...the budget just can't afford these big vacations every year. :sad1:

In any event, this will be a great trip and we are all so looking forward to it.

We booked this excursion on Grand Cayman: BEST OF CAYMAN WITH STINGRAY CITY AND LUNCH. It's considered a full day. We did the same one last cruise, but our travel mates have never been there before and we thought it was the best one to give them a taste of everything. :thumbsup2

hey Gailyn:
Where are you staying at WDW? We'll be at BCV but only on Friday. Also, what car service do you use? We like Tiffany Town Car but always looking for a better option. We are also not patient enough to wait for the DCL bus!
jeff

The Grand Cayman Tour that we were looking at booking through capt marvin's is the all day snorkel and stingray city with lunch. I think it includes a city tour. I'll look at the email from capt marvins and get the exact name and price. I think it may be the one that Jeff mentioned.

Jeff, we have used Tiffany Town Car and ***********. I think I've just looked on Mousears for coupons and used whichever was less expensive. We've only done limos in the past - the kids were thrilled. It wasn't too much more than a van. Not sure what we'll do this time. That's DH's responsibility on the trip - the transportation.

We will be at Saratoga and are waitlisted for BWV. Not my favorite, but it will be fine. After the cruise we are at AKL and going to MVMCP on Sunday and flying home on Monday.

Off to soccer and football!! It's a beautiful day here. A nice day to sit out and watch the kids play. So what that my house isn't getting clean and the laundry (which was all done on Friday) is piling up!:scared1:
