~ °O° ~ Any Single Disney Men Out There?? ~ °O° ~ Part 4

Its a good thing ya didnt go commando then.. yikes :scared1:

I suppose... of course I didn't mind so much 'cept for the radiation. Plus I didn't have anywhere to clip my TLD to (don't go there). Course, if you're going to get it, you're going to get it.

Hmm is that navy speak? Way to many innuendo's there hehe. Or that must just be me.

Are you still in the Navy?
I heard about you navy men

Good morning DIS'ers, It is sunny and 85 degrees here this morning (yes it is 2 pm but it is morning to me). Love the thought of DLR, love the thought of WDW. ... Love the thought of naked Navy boys... :goodvibes

Nope, no innuendos. A TLD is a device that measures the amount of radiation you get over a long period of time, say a month or so. I did say don't go there and it seems you did. lol

As for being in the Navy. No, I was medically discharged along time ago for being to tall for the boat. I work with computers now.

And by "getting it", I was referencing the radiation. My underwear wasn't going to really protect me too much from it.

Got it. . .the rad techs at the Hospital wear them. . .lol. . .

More than coincidences??? I worked in the Navy radiation safety program in one of my earlier lives. Hunted for lost/missing DU aircraft counter-weights, Strontium-90 helicopter blade integrity monitoring system components and evaluated X-ray vaults used to X-ray aircraft engines, wings, etc. I faintly recall wearing 2 types of TLDs when I was in the field, one I could read directly and the other had to be sent in to be analyzed. Memories...

Dang, such a small world around here. . .Bill, what is the temp in Clovis right now. . .its 109 here. . .lol

Wow, its downright cold there. . .I lived in Dinuba and worked in Fresno for a little over a year. . .didn't like the weather. . .
Graduated from CSUF during the last ice age or there abouts. I like being near the National Parks and National Forests, plus only a 3-hour drive to the beach. Fresno gets plenty hot in the summer, though.

Too much hot in my book. . .I think I will head east. . .

Good morning my dear disfriends. . .just home from my 0130 a.m. date. . .not a love connection but lots of fun . . .

Good morning all you wonderful DIS'ers! I am smack dab in the middle of a double shift, came in at 11 last night and go home at 3 this afternoon. It is not too bad though, only about 80 degrees but pretty muggy.
Life is just really good right now. Full of possibilities. It makes even hot humid sleep deprived 16 hours of hard labor bearable.
I hope you all have a great day.

I feel for ya with that humidity. Survived many summers in Texas with its summer high temperatures and high humidity. Hang in there and think Disney Park thoughts to get you through the day or night as it may be.

Good morning my dear disfriends. . .just home from my 0130 a.m. date. . .not a love connection but lots of fun . . .
Enjoyed various no love connection dates over the years at DLR/WDW.:flower3: However, overall I still prefer solo visits.:cool1:

Okay my friends. . .I don't understand myself today. . .maybe its this planning of the California trip with the Big guys that has me reminiscing or my last weekend at DLR with my son, but I am totally missing my So Cal. . .There are many reasons why I can't go back there permanently(I could, but not a step forward), not a part of this discussion but it doesn't stop me missing my life there. . .I need to only keep positive people in my life and that in no way includes anyone in my family. . .(long story so won't go there). I went on a date this morning. . .(okay I work graves so going out at 0130 in the morning is not unusual). This guy is originally from my home town. . .knows some of the same people I know and grew up in the same town as me. . .we spent a good portion of our night reminiscing. And that had me thinking about all the stuff I will miss if I move to the "right" coast. I am really just rambling here, but hey, when you need to get stuff out, what better way to ramble than on the internet. . .cause if someone cares they will listen and post, if they don't, they won't. . .no harm, no foul. . .lol.

I was talking about old Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm with a friend today and it just made me think about my life in Redondo. . .pre California Adventure Days. . .lol. I lived in Redondo Beach for 15 years. . .moved from there for 3 years to Seattle (work related) then moved back but went to San Diego instead. . .its amazing the changes that have gone on in that area in the last 10 years. . .California Adventure opened in 2001. . .I was thinking it was much older than that. . .for some reason, and the Rose Garden Wedding Pavillion opened that same year. . .I was to be married to my ex there, but we ended up getting married on a cliff in San Pedro cause the rose garden was "not quite ready" so I got a refund. . .thank god cause that wedding didn't last as long as the relationship. . .roflmao.. . .don't make me talk about that.

Then I was talking with Leo about Knotts Berry Farm. . .a fun place. . .just wish Disney would have put in a bid for the place before Cedar Park took it over. . .but it was in the 90s in California and the economy was not great. . .Knotts is about the distance of MK to Epcot. . .seriously but everyone thinks of it as being MUCH farther. . .its a "theme" park set in the California Gold Rush era. . .think Wild West. . .Its a lot of fun but I haven't been there in years. . .since my son decided that Disney was THE ONLY real park in California. . .how do you argue with THAT sentiment. . .lol

Okay, done reminiscing and rambling. . .hugs to all. . .

Darcy... your memories will be with you always, regardless of where you go. And even if you do move to the "right" coast, you can always fly out to spend some time there on the "left". With talking to your date about some of the same people and places Im not surprised about the memories that are flowing. enjoy the good ones! nothing wrong with any of that sentimentality at all.

I made it through!! lol I am home now getting ready for bed so that I can get up and do it all again tonight!! The sun came out at about 1pm and it really got hot.. I was very happy to leave at three. lol Just knowing I am going to go down and sweat my butt off with Mickey in just a little over a month definitely made it so much easier. :goodvibes

Okay, done reminiscing and rambling. . .hugs to all. . .

Hugzzzz to you Darcy  Of course it is natural to miss your hometown, and all the great memories you had there. The past is what made you the wonderful person you are today. No matter where you live, move to, etc... it is never going to be the same as where you lived before. It is the making of new wonderful memories to go along with your old memories that is important.

OK, Bedtime, much love!!

Hey Darcy, nothing wrong with a little rambling once in awhile! It's good for the mind to do that every so often. Dates at 1:30 am and a little ramble...all good stuff :)

Have a big hug and think happy Disney thoughts!

Hope everyone is enjoying their week!
