Will friend arriving earlier than me be able to get a room key?

Hi all. I am headed down to WDW in a week or so. A friend and I are sharing a room. I am the one who booked it. As far as I know, this friend does not have a MyDisneyExperience account, so I've just added them as a person in my account, so they are listed on the reservation. We are arriving separately at different times, and my friend will ge there before I do (however, we are both arriving well after official check-in time, so room should be available). I am assuming that as long as I do online check-in, my friend can just go to registration when they arrive at the resort, provide their name, show ID, and be given a key card for accessing the room. Does this assumption sound correct?

Yes, if your friend gives your name (have your confirmation number handy just in case), the CM can look it up to confirm they’re on the reservation and provide them the room number and key.

Yes, but your friend will probably have to give them a credit card for incidentals, and there will be a charge that you can either transfer to your card when you check in or it will drop off a few days after you check out if you don't have extra charges.

Card for room charging and paying the balance off can be set up in the online check in

I’ve only been able to add one credit card on online check-in. The friend will need to add her own cc unless OP is good having her charges on their cc.

Yes the Front desk CM will ask @gatorlisa's friend about providing a Credit Card for incidental charges to be added to the room Folio but it is not required.
