Anyone know when the drydock is scheduled for in Oct 2010??
We're supposed to sail on her for the 1st time on Oct. 24th and may be bringing the in-lawas along too! It would be neat to be on her right after she goes through drydock!

October 2 - 17, 2009

Have to say I'm glad we didn't wait for DCL to take us to Alaska. I had a feeling the prices would be outrageous.
We're doing it on NCL in an aft (oversize) mini-suite...bigger than DCL's Cat 4, with a large balcony, three of us, for a TOTAL of $4200.

I really want to do the 6 night cruise that stops in San Francisco. I'd kill three birds with one stone.:thumbsup2

-It leaves from Los Angeles, so I can go to Disneyland again for a day or two

-I would get to go back to San Francisco, which I loved the place when i went in November 2008, and want to go back one day anyway

-go on a cruise and maybe, just maybe talk my dad into talk a back-2-back and doing the cruise after that

Alaska would be nice, but we live near PC and with a new ship in 2011, it would be impossible to justify the added expense of having to travel across the country. From the posted info, looks like the Dream will be doing the 3/4 day cruises which is also good for us as that should make checking out the new ship a little more affordable! ;)

in summer 2011 from my notes, the Magic will go to Europe again with 10 & 11 night cruises to Spain, Italy and France. The Dream will have 3, 4, 5 and 7 day cruises from Port Canaveral.

I just thope the prices aren't as insane as the 2010 5 day cruises are!!!

While I'd love to go to Alaska with Disney, I highly doubt the prices will be in my budget.

at work can't see podcast...anyway did they mention what the ports would be for the repos from Vancouver to LA???:cool1:

I travel to Alaska yearly for work so not really interested in that cruise. ps...Alaska is very expensive so expect to see high dollar cruise prices to come out especially since the cruises will only be from May-Aug.

The only thing more difficult than getting on this Alaska cruise will be getting my DM from Georgia to Vancouver BC without getting on a plane :scared1:.

She only travels by train. How many days does it take to drive across the USA?

Ouch! I see three real possibilities - Atlanta to DC to Chicago to Seattle, Atlanta to New Orleans to Chicago to Seattle, or Atlanta to New Orleans to Los Angeles to Seattle. Any route would probably be close to a week!

Regarding all the stuff about the CC newsletter and CC part of the website, how long does it take after your cruise to get welcomed to the Castaway Club? I rebooked dummy dates on Wednesday of our August Western, and when we got mail the following Monday I already had a letter from Disney! I want in!

Can anyone have pity on my with a quick summary of all of it? I am at work and can't read all 30 pages. I get there is Alaska, a repo and Mexico? Are there actual dates and prices listed somewhere? Did I miss anything else?
No Dreams itineraries yet, right?

Okay for all you Alaskan Veterans out there -- which month is better to see more wildlife, calving and ice flows....June or July?

Check out the first post. :) No prices on DCL's site yet and just ranges for dates listed there too.

Does anyone know when the pricing will be available?

Take Amtrak to Seattle and then upto Vancouver.

The Magic is October 2010. The exact dates for both are posted in the FAQ thread. :)

Wendy we were there in 2006 with Princess. We got fairly close and did hear on calfing not that we saw anything. I have heard from recent visitors that it has receded quit a bit.

Thanks for posting the pics, Roger. I'll need to compare them with ours to see about the receding bit. We didn't get to see any calving either, but saw video of it calving previously from our waiter.

Are you thinking about doing one of the Alaska trips?

I just got home and don't really know whats going on , We just wanted to go on a 7 day E caribbean in Feb 2011 ,With all the ships moving around what ship will be doing those cruises ? and would a family of 6 be able to do it for around $4.000.00.I know we could with the 2010 prices but I don't know about the 2011 prices.Hopefully they haven't gone up too much.

Sorry all, I'm a little sad by this announcement. We were really looking forward to another Western or maybe a Southern Caribbean cruise the summer of 2011. Was there any mention of when the schedule will be out for Dreams?

I'm incredibly sad by this announcement! We have been longing to try a 7-night Caribbean cruise after our first 4-night try last year. Guess what Disney . . . you're not forcing me to take kids out of school to accommodate you, so I'll be happy to have my deposits back and give them to another line who will take me for 7 nights to the Caribbean IN THE SUMMER!
