We returned from our magical 11 day trip last night. My husband just left for work, and he wasn't happy!!;) we had a wonderful time, followed touring plans (and I believe they were very accurate), went to all 4 parks and IoA at Universal, ate at some old favorites, and tried some new places (dinner at BoG was amazing!!) Our DS's are 10 and 17, and they still love Disney as much as they always have!!

We stayed off site in a vacation home- we LOVE the space (it had 5 bedrooms!!) and private pool. It would take us no longer than 10-15 minutes to get from our house to the front of any park! We always rent a car regardless if we stay on property or not. We have stayed in the same area 6 times now, and love it!!! We did the dessert party and met a Dis family (hi Beth!). We spent the most time at Epcot, which is our favorite park, did all the sorcerer missions at MK, made rope drop every day, went back to the house, and most days went back at night. We also did a marathon day on our last park day, 14 hours in the park!!!

On our first day we exchanged out UCT tickets for RIFD tickets at DTD without a problem. We saw Planes at DTD on our last day, as our plane didn't even take off until 7:30.

We have been to WDW in July and August several times, and August is by far our favorite time- extremely hot, yes, but we experienced such low crowds this time we will always go without worry!! We went to MK on both Saturdays we were ther, as per touring plans, and even at 11 am even the new fantasyland attractions were a 5-10 min wait! We did headliners first thing, got fast passes as needed (no problem with them being available despite new magic bands and fp+). Just an FYI the haunted mansion did not have fast passes available, as they said they were testin out magic bands and fp+, but posted stand by time was always 20 minutes, and we waited less than that, even at 9 pm one night.

Guess this was pretty long, but you know us DISers- always willing to give more info if you want it!! I love talking about my trips! Ask away if you want more info!!

Awesome report, and so glad to hear you had such a fantastic getaway :thumbsup2 . We love staying offsite as well.....all that space is soooo wonderful after a busy day of family fun!

So today is our 2 year anniversary :) and we have 3 days til Disney!! (I don't count today since I'm already working lol).

Where are you staying, saylorbunch? As an offsite lover, I am always interested to hear which other resorts and communities other families have enjoyed (so I can note 'em for the next trip!). We are trying a new resort this summer.......first time at SVR! :cool1:
 

Just picked up BOG dinner on 8/22 at 6:45pm. Not sure if we'll keep it or not. The website crashed while I was trying to book it so I called in to make the reservation. Looking at it now they have it booked for 7 instead of 5 so I'll have to call back to have it adjusted.

We already have our alloted TS meals booked so we'll either have to pay for one OOP or cancel one. We have a dinner for 1900 Park Fare on our WP day that I think we could cancel without any issue or we could probably pay for H&V or CP OOP since those are breakfast buffets (and likely cheaper than BOG dinner.)

We also have a FP+ BOG lunch booked for 8/18 so we're eating there once already (although it's without Beast) so we're questioning if we should cancel that or not.

Another thing to discuss with my traveling companions. I'm kind of thinking cancelling the lunch. The dinner menu looks great and we have the definite potential to get The Grey Stuff.
 
Sorry I don't have time to read all 170+ pages on this thread... I did a search for photopass share and it didn't find anything...

Is there a photopass share FB page for August 2013?
 
I am having the same problem! We will have to leave our house early Thursday morning and I have SO much to do, and yet I'm being so lazy!

I feel that!! Leaving @ midnight (technically Saturday but we will still be in Friday mode) after a BUSY day... Better be all done by tomorrow... Eek!!
 
Ahhhhh!!!!! I am beside myself with excitement! Stomach is tingly and sleep has been difficult... And we still have 6 days! Maybe I should take a benedryl the next few nights, I'm gonna need that rest. :)

A foot injury has led to me switching out our car rental for an ECV rental, so we might have a few timing issues and maybe a less action packed vacation than years passed. But that's ok! I know we'll have a wonderful time, and I can't wait!

Cool. I heard POR fared better than most resorts with less defective refrigerators, but wanted to make sure. Thanks!

When I faxed in my request I also asked for one. It was a lifesaver for DS who needs his milk. He'll be 2 in 24 days.
 
Two more days till we leave! My photopass+ hasen't shown up even though it was mailed on the 28th! If it doesn't come in the mail by tomorrow I'm going to have to call the and see what I have to do. Guess I should print off the e-mail I got saying I bought it and take it with me. Also had a call from Disney today as we had to switch or ADR for the 50's Primetime Cafe. The park is closing at 6 the day we are going, which I knew, and our reservation ws for 5:30, and I asked the woman when I made it if that was ok with the park closing at 6, and now we have a lunch reservation for 1 but that's ok. Now I have to go in an play with my tourning plan but it will be good. Think that evening we will just head back to ther resort and hang out there, unless anyone really wants to park hop. Can't believe its only 2 days and I have so much to do...like pack! Good thing I took tomorrow off so I can get stuff done before the MacCartney concert!:scared1:

We are at POR now and didnt a get a fridge. It kinda sucks when you get back at 12:15 and you cannot refill your mug! But still awesome :)

Our photopass did not show up on time either. We just went to DTD to the photo station and told them and they took our order number (we printed our confirmation page). They called the main office and confirmed we purchased and then he gave us our lanyard. Everything good to go. :)
