Won't the humidity pull the wrinkles out anyways?

I'm blessed that my wife handles the packing and coordinating of the outfits. She is a master at it and the only complaint is that she often overpacks, but sometimes that helps like last November when it was cold and hot and we needed a ton of clothes. We also did our family Christmas pictures at the park so we had nice clothes with us as well.

I asked the gym if they would move one of the treadmills into the sauna so I could practice for August at Disney and they said no. Worth a shot though right?

I originally booked BLT for Wed-Sun(renting points so no adding days) and then we decided to leave Tuesday and drive half way....hmmm, so then we started thinking if we're going to drive 1/2 way (about 4 hours), why don't we leave earlier on Tuesday and drive the whole way and stay somewhere offsite. Then, I found a decent deal at the Dolphin so it only made sense to stay there.......(see how my mind works?
So, there you have it---my story of three resorts in one trip. Can't wait for August!

Once discounts come out for our dates, we will have more information and can finally make a decision!

Hey ya'll, just found this thread and I'm so excited! We are booked 8/14-8/21 at BCR. It will be our first Disney trip. We did one day in Magic Kingdom last year, but focused on other attractions in Orlando. After that day at MK, we knew we had to come back and do an all-Disney trip! I'm looking forward to reading through the whole thread (someday- LoL)!

Can we join in? We will be staying at the Beach Club from 8/26 through 9/2. Me (Jane), DH, DD12 and DS7. We've never been to Beach Club before and I'm looking forward to trying out a different resort.

I'm extremely excited to join in on this thread!! We will be visiting from Wed. 7/31 through Sun. 8/4. We're staying at Animal Kingdom Lodge which I could not be more thrilled about. I also have a PTR if anyone is interested in following along:

August is not getting here fast enough. Our trip is August 9th thru 17th. This will be the last trip with my son before he is an ADULT (but he promises to keep going with me no matter how old he gets).

How much will driving vs. flying cut from the budget?

I won't fly, so everything is a road trip for us! But we always debate whether to break the trip up into two days or make it in one. We generally drive the whole way coming back home, but every year we say we won't do that again. Then we forget the exhaustion and pain and do it anyway! So the drama continues.... We are debating driving the whole way there and back, or breaking one or both of those driving days into overnight stays (Disney or elsewhere).

I don't know if this would work in the Ziplocs but to pack our suitcases efficiently we always roll our clothes tightly and they aren't wrinkled. Not the t-shirts and shorts anyway. If it was a linen shirt or something it's going to be wrinkled no matter what you do. There are irons and ironing boards in all the rooms. To be honest, I barely iron at home so I refuse on vacation. When we moved when my dd was 9 she was unpacking a box and pulled out the iron and said "Hey! I didn't know we owned one of these!!". Mother of the year over here.
If we have a nice dress or dress shirt for a signature dinner we hang it on a hangar on the outside of the shower curtain. Once we've had a shower the steam has taken out the wrinkles. Works for us

Downy wrinkle releaser spray is awesome too!! And they make a travel size bottle!

We're driving this time. With the kids, we break it into 2 days. When I was younger and it was just me, I could drive it in one day (about 16-18 hours, only stopping for gas, food, and potty breaks which were usually all at the same time as much as possible). There's no way I could do that now!!

Hi All! Just popping in to say...

107 DAYS!!! Woohoo!!


Pardon me, I may just be delirious from all of the running a business/homework/child raising/searching for a place to live business. 107 can't come soon enough, mama needs a break! I'm a single mom (still -- son is 11...perhaps prince charming will come in my 50's), so it's just the two of us. As some of you may remember, we were there last year and had such a blast. We're thrilled and appreciative to be going again, and we can't wait!

After a week we're at 99 days! (And after the 23rd this semester will be over, double-yay!)

Do you have a pet (or pets) that require care during your trip?

Do you board them, have a neighbour watch over them, or take them to you parents house to be "babysat"?

Does it cost you anything, and if so, how much?

Do they care if you are gone (and are mad as heck when you get home?) or do they thoroughly enjoy the temporary accommodations with the kennel/dog-sitter/grandma/neighbour?

And if you are willing.....please post a pic so we can all admire your fur-baby (or I also suppose that could be a feather baby for those with birds ).

He is gorgeous!!! How "big" is he (pounds wise)? I love his colour.

We have one cat. She's 14, so a senior citizen by cat standards. Pretty set in her ways.....and not one to get all lovey-dovey with the kind folks that come care for her while we are gone. We used to get DH's sister, but she and the cat developed a mutual hate for one another, which usually resulted in emails during our vacations detailing the spitefulness of our dear kitty (which I have no doubt was true...but I've never figured out what she wanted us to do about it??). We moved two and a half years ago, and were happy to discover that our next door neighbours (wonderful folks) are big cat lovers, and they graciously offered to cat-sit while we are away. Turns out the cat (who doesn't like herself most days) seems to rather like their company (or at least doesn't despise them completely) so its turned out to be a wonderful match. They won't take any payment for their services, so we buy them a $75 gift card to their favourite restaurant and drop it off with the house key when we leave.

She doesn't work very hard at hiding her displeasure. We usually get punished with that sulky face for at least a couple of days.

I have one dog and I board him. I used to feel guilty, but at the time I had two dogs, and they were always able to sleep together, so that eased the guilt. My older dog passed away a year and a half ago, and I felt bad again, but realized he LOVES going. He starts to get really excited when we get near the kennel and races in. The people there know him well (we are away once every month or so) and he is always super happy, so I feel fine with it. It costs $34 per night.

Loreli and Gina, your kitties are so pretty! I love cats, but DW is so allergic her throat closes when she gets near them, so no kitties for me

Oh, I forgot to mention I also have a fish tank - 36 gallon community. I have an auto feeder for that. It sits on top of the tank and drops food in once a day. For any of you with fish, it's much better than those cake feeders that can pollute your tank. Here's a link if anyone is looking for a fish feeding solution (even when I had house sitters for the pets I never trusted anyone to feed a tank - it's too easy to screw up!).
