What is 60 day check in?

We still need to pay off our balance! Can't wait until that part is done!

You are supposed to be able to check in online 60 days prior to arrival. It used to be a 10 day prior check-in but now with fast pass plus and My Disney Experience, I believe you're going to be able to choose your fast pass times at the 60 day mark. I Haven't been following this too closely lately and i was wondering if there any changes to the anticipated announcement.

Wow that is so cool! A definite advantage to staying at the resort (hopefully lol)!

YC is definitely out now. We have a friend who will be joining us and wants to get a suite at AoA and split it with us. Going to have to call the Dis folks and get everything changed. Hopefully we can modify the ADRs to add a person too.

Of course she tells me last night that she wants to fly on the same flight with us and this morning it's $25 more than it was last night. Wondering if I should wait and see if it goes down later on in the week or just book it now. :confused3

Thanks to all of you for sharing your strategies in light of no free dining the last week of Aug. I just submitted a quote request to *** to see if I can make YC work. Can someone who has the week of 8/24-8/31 share the rate you were able to get with the room block? Do you need to bundle tickets to get the room block rate?

The quote I had was from 8/23-8/30 in a Standard View room at Beach Club for $1330.84. Yacht Club Std. was the same price. Grand Floridian was more expensive but I didn't want to stay there. I believe Beach Club has long been sold out, but there may still be Yacht Club Std. rooms. You can also book Club Level but I didn't get a quote for that. You do not need to bundle tickets. We are AP holders so I got a quote without tickets.

I've officially gotten my DH to agree on a trip in December of next year (slightly before the 2015 plan!) for my birthday! My evil plan is working!

Thanks for the pricing info with *** - now just waiting for a response from them. Send some pixie dust there is still some availability!!!

I have DD7 and DD who will be 10 by our trip. Many ppl have told me to rent a Disney double stroller. I honestly haven't used a stroller in a good 4+ years. However we never walk as much as we will be walking in WDW.
I found a largerer single stroller which holds up to 100lbs for rent from Orlando Stroller called the Liberty Push Chair. It would be $120 for the week. We are planning to take mid-day breaks and have 8:30 ADRs several mornings.
SO the question:
Is it a good $120 investment? Or is it a waste of $ as we are not going comando beyond our ADRs, so there's no rush to our TP?
(The $120 would bite a large hunk out of my $500 "spoil the kids cash")

We went for the first time last year with a nine and 10 year old and they walked everywhere and kept up. We did take short breaks in the afternoon at the resort pool! Nut by and large they didn't struggle. One notable exception was when Isaac blew through and went in the rain one morning :-). We found a TB or even relax QS helped us all recharge. We also walked ALOT leading up to the trip we we were trained, LOL! Have you asked your kids? I know my boys wouldn't be caught dead in a stroller at this age!

I say skip the stroller. We never use one and my kids were 5 and 6 the last time we went. However, we do start taking walks on the weekend and sometimes short walks on weekdays to work up to the parks. I figure its a good excuse to be healthy and talk some Disney :)

I would also skip the stroller. My son will be 8 and we are not getting him one. As the above poster said I dont think he would go in a stroller. Esp if you havent used one in years.

Our daughter walked at Disney for the first time last year, when she had just turned 7. She did great, and I walk really fast and expect everyone to keep up! We are still planning on our 4 year old using an umbrella stroller this year, but for the ages of your children, I say save the money!

I agree with PP. I would skip the stroller. My youngest DS used one when he was 4 and 5. By the time he was 6 he was barely in it (only a little bit at Epcot and AK). At age 7 he walked the whole trip.

We stay for two weeks at a time, take mid-day breaks and also take evening walks at home the weeks leading up to the trip.

Having said all that, only you can decide what is best for your child. Before my first trip everyone told me I was crazy for taking a stroller but as his mom I knew better. It was more important to me not to have to listen to him whine as we walked an average of 5 miles a day.:goodvibes

I also say to skip the stroller. We went in December with DS 6 and DS 8. It was our first trip without the stroller. We made out great! I also didn't miss the bus with the stroller, nor the non stop parking of it. The only feature I did miss was having something to hold our park bag.

Ok I am making a declaration for this trip.

The pigletto family will not be making any ADR's. NONE. ZIP. ZERO. NADA.:scared1:

We love our TS's. And we've always done the dining plan and I've been on the phone or at the computer finding the *perfect* places to eat at the *perfect* times. Well folks this was supposed to be a budget trip and by golly it will be!

Dh and I were making an Excel file and pouring over menus to try and find the best bang for our buck and we just decided to not bother with any TS this time.

If you recall, we have a big onsite surprise week before Christmas trip planned for the kids. That will be the trip where I want ADR's every day. That will be the onsite and parks every day trip. Not this one.
I think it will feel more special for the kids if they are looking forward to ADR's and their favourite places.
For this trip we'll cook in the condo (the whole point of the full kitchen) and have one CS or offsite meal per day. Period. End of Story. See how determined I am?:rotfl2:

I know that sounds like no fun at all to many of you and I get that. But we were there in February and had ADR's every day, and are going for a Surprise trip in December. This August vacation needs to be low key, low schedule, and low cost. And I think it's going to be just fine:thumbsup2. I have to resist the urge to turn it into an ADR filled, Disney park every day vacation. But that wasn't the point and I need to stop letting the budget creep up. I am not interested in making big extravagant meals but it's nothing for me to pop in a frozen pizza and make a salad after spending the day at the pool. :)

Good for you!! I agree that it will make the December trip more special. Stick to your guns and put all your time, energy, and money to the December trip!

That doesn't sound bad at all. That was what this trip was supposed to be since we had our last trip in November and have another one planned for June 2014. Then we thought we'd do Chef Mickey's on our arrival night. Figure we get the M&G with Mickey out of the way. Then we thought about princesses and did Akershus. So we figured if we're doing those we may as well get the full DP and add some more, so we filled up the week with some more.

Part of why we had planned on no ADRs was to be able to go with the flow. We had done the DxDP when DD1 was 5 and DD2 was 2 and we constantly had to plan around our ADRs. Not being familiar with the property as well we wound up having to leave parks to have meals at resorts, which took a chunk of time out of our planning. That can be stressful and annoying. We did Mickey's Backyard BBQ was fun for the kids but it was expensive and took a chunk of time out of our day. Not having ADRs means you can do what you want when you want.

Remember, nobody can do Disney like you can! :thumbsup2
