“IT’S OUR MOTHER DAUGHTER TRIP!” Our Spontaneous Getaway - April 2011 COMPLETE 9/13

That's such a cute story about your friend asking you to prom! I'm kind of glad prom is forever over with though to be honest. For me it was just too much stress and too much money that could have been put towards a Disney trip!!:rotfl:

Isn't the flower & garden festival amazing?! I agree that it definitely adds so much more color and life to the park.
The pictures with you and your Mom with the topiaries are so cute. I love your dress too!

Just checking up on your last couple of posts as I have been away camping with my little ones.

I loved all of your detailed pics of Splash Mountain. Can you believe my last trip was the 1st time I rode it? My other 1 visits I have been pregnant and had to stand by and watch everyone else enjoy themselves. My last trip was also my 1st time on the People Mover. It was the perfect spot for me to feed my baby while enjoying the sights.

The Plaza looks really yummy and it will be nice when I can finally try it. We try to limit the amount of sit down meals we do as our kids just fare better at either a character meal or a buffet. But, my time will come. ;)

Your prom pics look amazing. Awesome dress! Is it a coincidence that you're date matched you?

What an awesome story to remember about prom, it's too fun how you saw that sign right before you saw the text.

FLower and Garden looks beautiful and I love your dress:goodvibes

Your pictures in epcot all look so pretty, your dress in the pics is adorable

Thank you!

I've been reading your trip reports, and I absolutely love them! :D

I LOVE the Flower and Garden festival. Everything there is simply breathtaking. :)

Thank you so much!
And I totally agree... I really enjoyed looking at everything! So much fun! It was the perfect setting for a Mother Daughter Trip :goodvibes

I love that dress you wore to EPCOT, very cute:cutie:

What a cute story about the prom asking out and all, your friend had perfect timing! Your dress you wore was beautiful!

Thank you so much! I love wearing dresses to the parks haha. So much easier!
And aww thank you! I know... seriously, he did! We told him the story after we got home and he thought it was so funny! And aww thank you! :goodvibes

Wow, I can't believe how many times you've fallen asleep in Disney! I could never do that. Like Kristen, I NEVER sleep in Disney. Legit! Even if I get home at one in the morning from the day before, I'll wake up at 4. I'm just that insane. And I'll hate myself for days if I don't do that :sad2: Moving on...

That's so awesome, right after you take (see) a picture for an advertisement for "Prom", you get a prom proposal. That's just plain freaky! LOL Though, it's too bad you didn't get a cute little prom proposal, but from what I read about that prom, it sounded like you had a great time (:

I totally agree. We didn't have a Savannah view, but it's not like you can't just check the animals out while you are FULLY awake. It would be nice maybe once or twice, but usually the scenery around Disney suffices. The Magic knows no boundaries! ;)

YAY EPCOT! Great picture of you and your mom in front of Buzz and Lotso, so cute! (: Love all the topiaries! It seems every trip I've arrived during the Flower & Garden Festival time, last year, it was in the midst of it, which was pretty cool. I just don't think I could go to EPCOT without those topiaries. I just wish, they made it a bit more extravagant like MNSSHP or MVMCP, Disney would benefit a ton from that :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Haha I give you both a lot of credit... I just like sleep so much. If I'm tired, I can't enjoy Disney to my fullest ability. I hate wasting time.. but breaks are necessary for this lazy frump.
Hahaha I know... so weird! But SUCH great timing! And yeah... I mean, if he was my boyfriend, it would be a different story. But since we're just buds I really didn't care. I just wanted to go! And I'm so glad I did... because that was my favorite prom!
And exactly! I'm glad you understand my point!
YAY Epcot! That's cool that you're always there for F&G. It definitely makes Epcot even more enjoyable! It would be weird for you to go at a normal time of year

Thanks! Yeah I loved Prom... but I was always the one stuck planning it! I mean, even after THE BOYS' PROM we still had the after party at my house :rotfl: Oh well. I guess that means they enjoy hanging out at my place. But still... so funny! It was a lot of drama and money and stress that was not needed.
It really is amazing! I love it so much!
And aww thank you so much!

Haha sorry I've been updating like crazy! I got my wisdom teeth out so I have had nothing to do all week except watch Disney Movies and go on disboards
And aww thanks! No I can't believe it! But I'm glad you finally went on it! And the PeopleMover, too! Those are actually my 2 favorite Magic Kingdom attractions!!
Mmm I love the Plaza! I bet the kids will like it when they're older! but actually... they make kids Mickey PB&J's. And it's a pretty inexpensive table service and the place is cute and little! You might all actually enjoy it!
And aww thank you! And no.. we planned it out  I actually didn't see it until that night though.... perfect match!! :thumbsup2

What an awesome story to remember about prom, it's too fun how you saw that sign right before you saw the text.

FLower and Garden looks beautiful and I love your dress:goodvibes

Haha aww I know, right? So funny! I loved that.
And it was! And thank you so much!

I love all of your trip reports so much! i look fwd to new updates every day! just yesterday i was telling my fiance about them, and now he is hooked! lol. i have a grown man here hanging out waiting to read the next instalment of an american teenagers disney trip report... could it get any cuter!! you have become quite the celebrity in our house!!

I just got all caught up with this TR. Sounds like a great trip so far. Brilliant idea, splitting the Tonga Toast and pancakes. :thumbsup2

Going to Jiko in sweatpants made me laugh. I'm glad they didn't give you a hard time about it.

Getting a date for prom while at Disney would be such a magical day. Can't wait to read more!

HI! I thought I'd pop over and check out your TR :thumbsup2 I try to return the favor, if your going read mine.....

Anyway, you write a great TR! I love all your pictures, they've got gorgeous color in them all!

I really want to go to Disney for the flower festival someday, it all looks so beautiful!

When I get time, I'm going to check out your other TR's. I enjoy going along on others trips:cloud9:

Havd a Great Weekend!

No problem! Vacation Planning is very important !! :yay:
Oooh San Angel Inn! I've never been there before! But I get the idea haha. That bread and mango butter sounds good though
Haha thanks! I liked it too! Parking lot view is good enough for me if I'm in Disney!
Haha I don't know if they still have it at dinner! Maybe if you ask they can give you some :) Kona for breakfast is my FAVORITE... if you can't squeeze it in this trip.. you must go there on the next!
That meet and greet is adorable.. I recommend at least taking a quick look in there!
You've never been on splash mountain?!?! You have to try it! Ask for a back seat if you don't like getting wet. It's a classic!
And hahaha I totally agree. Anything involving food makes it THAT much better :thumbsup2

I feel like I always end up writing these massive walls of text because I start a post like fifty times and never end up finishing any and just mash them all together. So to continue the tradition...

Yeah, Cuba Libre is like San Angel.. minus a ride and the temple and indoor market. :lmao: But it's outdoor-eating-inside type of thing.

Anything for breakfast is my favorite, especially the French toast at the Grand Floridian Cafe! My boyfriend doesn't like getting up early though, which cuts down the number of open breakfast slots. This just means there has to be a next time! With eating at Animal Kingdom Lodge - we don't have anything planned for there and they all look so delicious!

I've also never been in a Disney pool! The closest to a water ride I get is It's a Small World or Pirates  I never know what to do after the ride - walking around sopping wet always seems so awkward!

That's such a cute prom story! My high school prom was woefully underattended (I think I was raising money for my trip to Germany that summer) and no one did anything special for it. I think we were all too lazy! Yours seemed fun, especially with the bonfire after!

The F&G pictures are so pretty. Love the contrast between Spaceship Earth and all the topiaries. I love Toy Story, but it makes me feel all guilty about the toys I 'loved too much' as a kid. Or left behind whenever I went somewhere. But the movies are so great - I still think the first is my favorite, even with the slightly uncanny-valley animation!

Disney should have always have punny monorails, they're the best.

Good luck with the wisdom teeth! My sister was absolutely miserable when she got hers out, hope you had a better experience!

Thank you so much!! Oh my gosh.. haha that just made my day! :goodvibes I am so happy you both are enjoying the TR's! And wow, you're from Australia?! I've always wanted to visit there! You're enjoying from the other side of the world! :wizard: Thank you so much for being here! I will update soon! :thumbsup2

Thank you! And haha smart, right? Best of Both Worlds right there!
And haha me too! I was a little nervous. I should have taken a picture of the sign that explained the dress code
It definitely was :wizard: I'll update soon!

I bet you would really really love the Flower and Garden Festival! One day you'll have to go!
And aww yay! I think you would enjoy those as well... Behind every TR was a very fun trip!
Thank you, you too! Thank you for reading!

Hahaha it's totally fine... I feel like I do the same thing!
I booked Grand Floridian Cafe for Breakfast on my Christmas trip... and I keep hearing wonderful things about this French Toast! I think I'm just going to have to get it!
Oh my goodness you haven't!? That's crazy! But I guess I can see your point. Walking around wet is just annoying!
Thank you! It was a great time! Aww I'm sorry your prom was a bust! But hey, Germany is pretty awesome!
I agree - so beautiful! And haha every time I watch Toy Story I always want to go dig out all of my old toys
And yes, they should!

Great update! Cute prom story, that would make anyones day!! And I remember the prom pics, you girls looked so beautiful!!

Can't wait to read the next update :yay:

I love you photos. I can't wait to go on my next trip and just go photo crazy! I may even want to do a TR! Yours are so much fun. :)
I got a good laugh out of the box of monorail chocolate. I will need to buy some of that.

Sounds like you and your mom are having a great trip. Can't wait to read the rest.

Yes I am hooked, and you are a bit of a celeb in our house now!
Although its hard to read all about your trips to WDW because it makes our Disneymoon in October seem so much further away! 87 days to go...

Have you ever been on a DCL Cruise?
We are going on the Dream for 3 nights as part of our trip, very excited to see two more different worlds of Disney in the same trip!

And Im sure you would love a trip down under, our country is amazing :D
Looking forward to the next installments :)

I make Mickey PB&J's all the time. Especially for playdates. Even Mickey grilled cheese.

How is your mouh feeling?

We did! Thank you! I'll update soon!

Haha aww that's so cute :) Thank you!
Haha don't worry - it'll be here faster than you think!! That sounds absolutely WONDERFUL!
I have never been on a cruise... I'm thinking of taking one for my honeymoon someday as well! (but that's a ways off at this point... which probably makes 87 days seem nice and close, now doesn't it?)
That sounds like an absolutely amazing trip! :cloud9: You are going to have such an amazing time... take tons of pictures!
And aww I bet I would! I did a research project on Australia in 3rd Grade and I have wanted to go there ever since  Plus, seeing Finding Nemo makes me want to visit, too! Maybe someday!
And thank you! I'm sure I'll update soon!

I make Mickey PB&J's all the time. Especially for playdates. Even Mickey grilled cheese.

How is your mouh feeling?

You are an awesome Mom!! I'm sure I will do that for my kids someday :thumbsup2
And my mouth is feeling A LOT better! It's still a tiny bit sore and hard to eat, but I am almost back to normal!! I get the stitches out on Monday morning, so that's fantastic! I SURVIVED! Yay :goodvibes

Hey Jess, joining in!

Good to know that the filet and mac and cheese can still be ordered even though it is no longer on the menu. I have been craving it for years but have not yet had the chance to try it.

Love your prom dress, it was very pretty and it looked like you had a wonderful time.

Love the photos of Splash and the cute ducks! Am glad you enjoyed The Plaza and that banana split looks soo good!!

Lol at seeing that prom sign and then getting the text! I'm glad you all got to enjoy the prom.

Great DHS pics and your dress is very pretty.

Isn't it fun!? I love it. I'm always just so much happier with my pictures.
Oh my gosh... that's a great deal! I'm so happy for you! And yay for the new point and shoot! I always bring my little pink one along too... just incase I get tired of the other one!
Yeah... it's REALLY annoying :( If you could test it out soon and let me know if you figure out any tricks... I would really appreciate that
And thank you! You're going to love it- it's such an enjoyable and quaint little place!
P.S. 5 DAYS TILL YOUR DISNEY TRIP!? ahhh so lucky!!! :)

Haha I know! I can't wait to take a ton of pictures and post them all in my trip report! :thumbsup2 Thanks! I know what you mean haha I'm going to force myself to take the big one everyday though because I DID buy it for Disney. :rolleyes1 It's not too heavy though so that's always good. :)
Ahh I totally forgot to test it out until I saw this post. Tonight, I'm going to and I'll get back to you with all the results tomorrow. :goodvibes
The Plaza seems very nice! Every year my mom and I have been trying to get in without reservations & it's always been full, so I'm glad we finally get to go this year. :wizard:
YESSS! Now 3! Or, if we wanna get all technical, 2 days, 7 hours and 7 minutes. ;) (Got that thanks to my Disney Vacation Connection app.)
Also- I love your dress in the Epcot pictures! So pretty! :goodvibes

Haha I give you both a lot of credit... I just like sleep so much. If I'm tired, I can't enjoy Disney to my fullest ability. I hate wasting time.. but breaks are necessary for this lazy frump.

That's exactly the point, you must not waste time in Disney, so NO SLEEPING! :teeth:

Hahaha I know... so weird! But SUCH great timing! And yeah... I mean, if he was my boyfriend, it would be a different story. But since we're just buds I really didn't care. I just wanted to go! And I'm so glad I did... because that was my favorite prom!

LOL, I'm guessing by then, he would no longer be your boyfriend hahaha

YAY Epcot! That's cool that you're always there for F&G. It definitely makes Epcot even more enjoyable! It would be weird for you to go at a normal time of year

The exact reason why I'm happy my birthday is in spring. Party on! :cool1:
