“IT’S OUR MOTHER DAUGHTER TRIP!” Our Spontaneous Getaway - April 2011 COMPLETE 9/13

LOVE Splash Mountain, I could ride that one all day. Although Zip a dee doo dah would probably be stuck in my head like crazy then:rotfl:

That stinks the PeopleMover was down, hopefully you got to ride it later. And your lunch at the Plaza looked very light and delicious! I never even knew that place existed till I came on the DIS.

Almost falling over on the bus? Definitely sounds like something that I would do. :lmao:

The Plaza looks really good. I actually haven't eaten there in years.

Love your Splash pics. And the bunny? Totally my favorite bunny on the ride too.

Woa almost falling off your seat?!? That is REALLY tired!

We haven't eaten at The Plaza, but it looks cute! And your food looked tasty! You and your mother are so photogenic!!!

Oh Splash Mountain...how I love you...(but you already know that! Ha!)

I just love that first pic of your update. Splash Mountain has some great views of the Castle, the MK overall, and the Contemporary/BLT! It's even better at night. :cloud9:

Oh my gosh, I think that bunny is adorable too!

I haven't been to eat at The Plaza yet, but you have me wanting to try it! You're right, it's one of those little hidden places that so many people don't do.

Aw man, the People Mover wasn't running?! I remember our trip a few years back when it was down our whole trip. We didn't know what to do with ourselves.

And one last comment on this update..."There's a great big beautiful tomorrow shining at the end of every day..." :rolleyes1

I love The Plaza. I don't have it scheduled for this trip, but I keep wanting to squeeze it in! Great tour of Splash- thank you!

Me too! Oh darn, you should try and squeeze it in if you can! It's so good! And it's a nice light lunch, so if you have another TS on the same day it's not too overwhelming! And no problem, I'm glad you liked it! :goodvibes

Oh, Splash Mountain <3 It totally is great just watching people go down before you. I always laugh at the ones who totally flip out and I just think to myself "Pffft... wimps" Hahaha I'm so mean :guilty: That's awesome you got your mom to go on. Splash Mountain is a must-do in Disney :goodvibes Love the little "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah" notes at the end :)

The surprise Hidden Mickey near the PeopleMover is just so cute. I wonder who could've put it there. That is just so creative! I love the little sprinkles of pixie dust that you only see once. (: :thumbsup2 to riding Carousel of Progress, as Hagrid might say "Very misunderstood 'ride', very misunderstood", emphasis on the might ;)

I've never heard too much about to Plaza, but from what I've heard it's excellent, maybe I'll have to consider it. Those sandwiches look great! The Vegetarian one looks very enticing :goodvibes Even though I'm not a vegetarian, it looks nice.

Oh my gosh, there is like nobody ever on the AKL buses. I will never understand that :sad2: Though I'm glad that you don't have to worry about crowds for those buses (: And I see the frump in you came out on the ride home? Hehehehe ;)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Hahaha it's okay... people are hilarious when they don't know what to expect. (aka my friend Eden earlier in the report... LOL :lmao:) I love splash mountain!!
That was a precious little surprise that i found! Some guest probably just made it and left it. My Mom didn't even see it... I just snapped a picture and we kept walking. She saw it later and she thought it was adorable!
Haha my Mom isn't a vegetarian either but she LOVED that sandwich. Like.. A LOT! So I would recommend it!
And yeah, it's so nice! I love those busses! And lol... yes, very true

Bummer that the People Mover was closed, that's one of my disney favorites!

That banana split looks awesome, Im drooling looking at it.

I know :( But don't worry... it opened back up! I feel like it's always randomly closed at some point during every one of my trips.
And ahhh that was DELICIOUS!

Me too!! And eh... oh well. It's worth it
And don't worry... we did! That's one of my top favorite rides!
It was such a great lunch... and same here.. i had no idea :rotfl: Would you believe I didn't know about the majority of these restaurants till this past fall? I basically "re-joined" disboards (and Kristen joined) and we learned about ALL of the restaurants. There are so many options in Disney that I wasn't even aware of!!

Almost falling over on the bus? Definitely sounds like something that I would do. :lmao:

The Plaza looks really good. I actually haven't eaten there in years.

Love your Splash pics. And the bunny? Totally my favorite bunny on the ride too.

Hahaha :lmao: It's true, it almost happened.
Mmm you should go back! It's delicious!
And thank you! And aww I know, that bunny is adorable! :cutie:

Woa almost falling off your seat?!? That is REALLY tired!

We haven't eaten at The Plaza, but it looks cute! And your food looked tasty! You and your mother are so photogenic!!!

Oh Splash Mountain...how I love you...(but you already know that! Ha!)

Hahaha I was in Disney mode! ....aka sometimes I just crash :rotfl:
It is very tasty! I love that restaurant! You should try it eventually! And aww thank you! :)
And hahaha yes I do... but Splash Mountain is AWESOME so I totally understand!

I just love that first pic of your update. Splash Mountain has some great views of the Castle, the MK overall, and the Contemporary/BLT! It's even better at night.

I agree... the views are fantastic up there!
And haha isn't he?! :)
It is a great little secret spot... I love the Plaza!
That's really sad!! :( Thankfully it wasn't down our whole trip... just randomly. Oh well!
And hahaha very nice, very nice :thumbsup2

The plaza seems like a fun, relaxing and enjoyable place to eat :) i want to try it someday butit doesn't have top priority

This trip seems like so much fun. It makes me want to take my mom and spontaneously take a trip!

Unfortunately, there was some PDA going on in front of us during the ride. Ugh... if you're gonna do that can you at least request the back seat so you don't distract me? I only have so much allotted pirate time in my entire life. Thank you.

This is unfortunate. Did you get to go on the ride again, without the PDA distractions?

The Plaza looks great. I have not eaten there recently. Glad to hear that you had a good meal!

On a trip when I took my niece, we were the only people on the bus on the way back to the resort. She layed down on the seats that face to the middle of the bus and fell asleep, luckily the pole there kept her in place!:lmao:

Your Splash Mtn pictures are really good! Love the scenery in that ride.
I've never ate at the Plaza before, but the food looks good, and the sandwiches look like the perfect meal after a big breakfast. I am going to have to consider eating there next time I go to WDW. :thumbsup2

I'm all caught up and loving the TR! I just finished your previous TR like last week and loved it. Ready for more.

Hahaha yeah, sometimes my Mom gets confused too. But I think she secretly loves using the fancy camera
Did you really!? It's a REALLY great camera.. I see people all of the time with it at the parks. That's awesome that you bought it yourself!! It's definitely an upgrade... that's for sure! And aww I'm sad it broke :( I still use my Sony Cybershot once in a while.. but it just doesn't do a justice anymore. I like my Nikon WAY better.
And ahh okay! Thank you! I will try doing that. I know what you're talking about.. I just haven't really connected two and two yet  (I should have by now LOL) Do you find it to be really annoying at night?? Because mine focuses NONSTOP and I never can get a picture taken :(/CENTER]
Haha it's fun using the big camera! Definitely makes you feel pro. :thumbsup2
I'm really happy with it! Yep, I got it for a good price and everything. We went to Best Buy and they had refurbished ones that people returned but they were all checked and perfectly fine like the regular ones, but these were $400 instead of $600! Such a good deal. :) I know what you mean  it's so different after having the nice focused pictures! I was nervous to tell my mom at first, but surprisingly she didn't kill me. :rotfl: She had a chase rewards account thing and there was a camera on there for 12,400 points (she had 12,500) so we got that and it arrived two days later! It's nice having a little one for when you don't wanna carry around the big one.
No problem! & Aww that stinks that it's weird at night. I just realized, I haven't taken any pictures outside at nighttime with it yet. :scared1: I'll have to play around with it in the backyard or something before I leave for Disney!

Also, love the update! :thumbsup2 We're eating at the Plaza for lunch on our last day so it's nice seeing some pictures of the food there. :goodvibes

Great pictures of CoP. That's one of the few attractions in MK I haven't been to yet!

Yum, I love the Plaza! It's one of our favorite places to go for lunch. Your mom's veggie sandwich looks delicious. I think I'll be ordering that next time.

Yeah, it's only a "once in a while" restaurant for me, but it was very enjoyable :goodvibes

Aww it really was!! I hope you get to someday!
Yeah, it really was annoying  I honestly can't remember if we did on that trip. Maybe. If not, no worries. I will be back again soon!
And mmm it was wonderful!

On a trip when I took my niece, we were the only people on the bus on the way back to the resort. She layed down on the seats that face to the middle of the bus and fell asleep, luckily the pole there kept her in place!:lmao:

Hahaha :lmao: That sounds like a good setup for me. I am a frump even in my sleep!

Your Splash Mtn pictures are really good! Love the scenery in that ride.

Thank you! I do too!
It is a lovely little spot - you should go there! :)

Love the TR Txs for sharing

You're very welcome!

I'm all caught up and loving the TR! I just finished your previous TR like last week and loved it. Ready for more.

Thank you! I'm so glad you are here and enjoying! I'll update... probably tomorrow! Happy reading :goodvibes

Isn't it fun!? I love it. I'm always just so much happier with my pictures.
Oh my gosh... that's a great deal! I'm so happy for you! And yay for the new point and shoot! I always bring my little pink one along too... just incase I get tired of the other one!
Yeah... it's REALLY annoying :( If you could test it out soon and let me know if you figure out any tricks... I would really appreciate that
And thank you! You're going to love it- it's such an enjoyable and quaint little place!
P.S. 5 DAYS TILL YOUR DISNEY TRIP!? ahhh so lucky!!! :)

Great pictures of CoP. That's one of the few attractions in MK I haven't been to yet!

Thank you! Aww you should go next time - it's a classic! True Disney lovers appreciate it the most, I think :wizard:
Yay, isn't it great!? She LOVED that sandwich... good choice :thumbsup2

Chapter 7 - Prom: Who Are You Going With?
April 8th, 2011

After safely getting off the bus, we got back to the room. We got changed and went right down to the pool!

dsc0779m.jpg

We found some chairs in a nice little area in the back, and I fell right to sleep! I don't know why I was so tired on this trip... I didn't even have an early flight!

Anywho, it was really hot out, which was REALLY great! We had the worst spring EVER this year and it was so cold at home. I was really enjoying the nice weather.

dsc0780xy.jpg

My friend Nat asked me to send her cousins some Disney pictures, so I did! I didn't know them, but anyone who is interested in Disney deserves some pictures! Her one cousin and I ended up having a full on conversation about Disney because she is going in November.. super cute!

We stayed down there for a couple hours. I went down the slide once, just because I had to do it.

I'm rockin' the frump-doo:

dsc0783q.jpg

I really liked this rock... I love little touches of magic!

dsc0778z.jpg

We headed back to the room and I ate one of the Zebra Domes. YUM! Mom took a shower, and I got ready to go!

dsc0720e.jpg

So... funny story about this picture. I saw this advertisement on the Disney bus this morning. And I LITERALLY laughed out loud. I was kind of sad because a lot of my good friends were going to prom at the all boys school opposite of mine. They're like our "brother school" I guess you would call it.

So, when I saw this sign... I just laughed because prom was such a big mess. But.... when I went back to the room after swimming that day, I got a text on my phone from my friend Pat. It was sort of random because he doesn't text me a lot. I opened my phone and read the message.... he asked if I wanted to go to Prom with him!!!

I was really excited and told him yes! I've known Pat since I was a Sophomore and we did all of our musicals together. I knew we would have a fun time! I really wanted to go to Prom, and he was the perfect person to take me! Plus, my friends Jessie and Vickie were in our limo! Woohoo!

I also think it's really funny... because isn't that movie about being asked to prom in really cute ways? I got asked over text message. :lmao: Hahaha oh well, I still got to go! It was a great night, too!

If you want to see pictures from that prom that I got asked to while I was in Disney... here's the link to the update in my first trip report: http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=41110538&postcount=410

Hooray!! So I was in a lovely mood because Prom was figured out! What's the best thing to do when you're in a great mood? Go to Epcot for Dinner, of course!

First we got off the elevator and took a peek out the window... there were animals right there! It really wasn't even bad not having a Savannah View because we got to see them every day anyway... just steps away from our door!

dsc0784n.jpg

dsc0785k.jpg

We got to the bus stop and the Epcot Bus pulled up right away!

We arrived at Epcot and got our first look at the Flower and Garden Festival! The only other time I had been there for the Festival was when I was 13, so I barely remembered it.

dsc0787p.jpg

Epcot was so BEAUTIFUL! It was just full of so much life and color... it made me so happy! We couldn't stop taking pictures!

dsc0789v.jpg

I absolutely LOVE that the main display right in the front was Toy Story 3. Toy Story is great and I've discovered my newfound love for it within the past few months.

dsc0791y.jpg

I took this picture for my friend Nat - Woody is her favorite character!

dsc0792h.jpg

We spotted the Tronorail!

dsc0786b.jpg

Yay for Pixar!

dsc0794s.jpg

dsc0797m.jpg

We ventured into Epcot and took more pictures:

dsc0798z.jpg

Here's an artsy Flower and Garden Shot:

dsc0799a.jpg

We walked into Future World some more and saw more topiaries!

Here's Donald:

And Mickey, Minnie, and Pluto!

Your pictures in epcot all look so pretty, your dress in the pics is adorable

I've been reading your trip reports, and I absolutely love them! :D

I LOVE the Flower and Garden festival. Everything there is simply breathtaking. :)

I love that dress you wore to EPCOT, very cute:cutie:

What a cute story about the prom asking out and all, your friend had perfect timing! Your dress you wore was beautiful!

Wow, I can't believe how many times you've fallen asleep in Disney! I could never do that. Like Kristen, I NEVER sleep in Disney. Legit! Even if I get home at one in the morning from the day before, I'll wake up at 4. I'm just that insane. And I'll hate myself for days if I don't do that :sad2: Moving on...

That's so awesome, right after you take (see) a picture for an advertisement for "Prom", you get a prom proposal. That's just plain freaky! LOL Though, it's too bad you didn't get a cute little prom proposal, but from what I read about that prom, it sounded like you had a great time (:

I totally agree. We didn't have a Savannah view, but it's not like you can't just check the animals out while you are FULLY awake. It would be nice maybe once or twice, but usually the scenery around Disney suffices. The Magic knows no boundaries! ;)

YAY EPCOT! Great picture of you and your mom in front of Buzz and Lotso, so cute! (: Love all the topiaries! It seems every trip I've arrived during the Flower & Garden Festival time, last year, it was in the midst of it, which was pretty cool. I just don't think I could go to EPCOT without those topiaries. I just wish, they made it a bit more extravagant like MNSSHP or MVMCP, Disney would benefit a ton from that :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum
