I like the way you nanatized this! Every time I try to do the "turnover" thing, it makes a huge mess as filling oozes everywhere! I think I'll try this sometime next week!

Boy do I hear you. I was just to tired to deal with the little devils. Besides this was just soo much easier. Turnovers sometime just don't turn over for me:confused3. Maybe if you do a calzone kind of thing that might work too.

Looks like our sickies are feeling a bit better this evening. PD that it continues!

Gretchen--lots of prayers coming your way!

Kathy--good luck to Kyle on his walk-on. I think I could root for a Tiger--that is except in football--especially the Friday after Thanksgiving ;)

Vickie--OMG on the guy walking out in front of the car! Yikes! And lots of good thoughts coming over the pond for your DH and his search for a new job. Glad to hear the WDW trip is all paid for and you guys can enjoy the break!

Well, today was MUCH better than yesterday. Turns out the guy in front of me in carpool today ended up with a dead battery too. What luck. Luckily, DH was with us today and he helped the guy out. The guy kept apologizing to us, and I tried to tell him, that that was me yesterday. No worries. I also had a mom of one of the boys in Emma's class call today and we worked out some carpooling. I am so thankful not to have to drive back and forth everyday now!

Oh, and I'm really excited. I booked a Wine seminar at F&W this afternoon, Moët & Chandon, Champagne, France, Seth Box. Should be fun for me and my girlfriends to learn a little and taste a little!

My DN ran a slight fever after getting dehydrated at WDW in June.

I get the feeling we are all in for some rough weather this Fall and Winter after the weird Summer weather.

I thought I quoted more but I am so tired. I hate this week! Training last 7 to 8 hours a day but I end up having to work around 11 hours just trying to keep up with everything. I don't have to teach anything thankfully, I am responsible for getting breakfast and snacks, purchasing them and set up. I make up trays and try to make everything look nice. I am so tired that tomorrow I am throwing all the breakfast foods we have left on the table and telling everyone to have at it. :rotfl:

I also have to try and keep up with all of my office work so I don't have to work on the weekend. Luckily this year the voice mails and e-mails have been a lot less then usual.

Dinner tonight was spaghetti and meatballs.

For all the WFD peeps, for whatever you may be in need of....

  :headache:  :rotfl: :thumbsup2 :wizard: :santa: pirate: :cheer2:

    Evening Y'all,

Our aide is here now. I needed to make sure I got here tonight because DH will be working from home again tomorrow.

I will do my best to watch out for old men!

I'm so sorry to learn that your DH is going to be job hunting! Prayers being sent that he will find something right away. :flower3:

We will need to make sure we meet up, gotta make it 3 in a row. We booked a tequila tasting for 3:00 on Saturday, so hopefully we can meet up before or after!

    He did what?!

Kat, Tell me again, what time are y'all arriving on Sat? I'm sorry but my brain leaks!

Oh dear, I hope tomorrow goes smoother!

I'm glad that it all went well & the kids had fun!

Wow that is just crazy! Is something zapping the car batteries in the carpool line?? :confused3:laughing:

Bob & I love the seminars & the food demos! Well we loved them when they were free, we'll see how much we like them this year. We booked a bunch of stuff today too.

Seared Scallops with Warm Tuscan Beans. The recipe was in the March issue of Cooking Light. I used arugula because that's all I had. It was really delicious, one that I will do again.

 on the old man roadbump and  on the lost job

Tonight was kick off for our fall stuff and we had kids coming out our ears! For the school age kids, I didn't want them to have to do anything structured on the first week of school so we just played crazy games. Their new favorite is "sardines" which none of them had played. I think we may have to make it a regular event! It wears them down :thumbsup2

I am so bad at keeping up with this thread. :sad2: When I do try, I feel like it's not good enough, so I give up, then I say to self "no, it's okay" then I try to jump in again but I'm so far behind it's a mess...

Gretchen - I'm sorry to hear about your dad's condition.

A friend and I were talking about this back in about April and said the same thing. However, if it's any consolation, my predictions have been a weebit off so far. :upsidedow

Kathy & Vickie - OMG on the car issues!

Lori & Vickie - Good to see you both!

This winter is supposed to be colder than normal, particularly for the northeast.

:grouphug: To everybody who has been sick.

School is still going well. They rolled out the red carpet and had a LIVE brass band yesterday for the first day of kindergarten.

To say he is a longshot to make the team is an understatement, but at least he's giving it his best shot. They start practice/try-outs sometime next month I believe.

Sheryl - where do you get your scallops from? I buy them at Rouse's and they're the "wet" ones that I can't get as good sear on.:headache:

It looks like the sale of M&D's house is going to happen, we close in one week!:yay:

Bethany - Don't feel bad about not keeping up, we all have that issue at times.

WFD - Grilled gaucho T-Bone steaks, baked potatoes and spinach salad.

    Good Morning All!

Did Maria check in yesterday? I have to give her a ring...

Dinner last night was Chinese take out and I think we are going out tonight. Tom is home from his travels too.

Thomas cut his first tooth yesterday! My baby is growing too fast!.

Vickie, Remind me to stay away from you if you are driving in WDW! ;) Happy Belated Birthday to the Boy!!! He is gonna love his Xbox...i hate to say this, but we are a 2 xbox household. Tom loves it just as much as Andrew and they play together at times. Thank God Tom is good at getting things cheap on Ebay.

Marisa, Nice to see you! Glad Kady is ready for school. I can't wait to get on a better routine when school starts.

Hi Robin! Hope all is well.

Glynis, I failed to mention how I loved the kids pics that you posted. They are just beautiful children. Glad Timothy is doing well...what a charmer he is! I hope Jacob is better today.

Laura, I hope Liam is feeling better today too!

Lori, We will definitely be cruisin the booths on Sat and I hope we can meet up there or for a drink somewhere.

Kathy, So glad Kyle is having a good time at LSU! How did his interview go? I will pray that Danny stays away.

Sheryl, So glad that you can drive without the collar now. Are you thinking of doing the scooter again in WDW?

Janice, Yummy recipes lately! Did Alex start school yet?

Ann, So glad to hear Emma is sleeping a bit more. It must be so hard that Rom is on call like that...hang in there.

OK, the baby is fussing...have a great day all...hugs to all!

    How is Jacob today?

Fingers crossed in the North East as well!

I hope that his allergies are gone. Kady was fine living with them but is on :cloud9: now that they are gone. I want that for Liam as well!

I hope that today finds him feeling better.

I know! We are not on the coast and that is a blessing weatherwise. I worry about the Carolina coast this year, the storms seem to be hugging their shoreline and then scooting up the Atlantic seaboard.

Laura, I know that La Nina is supposed to give us a warmer winter and fewer storms but I keep wondering if we are going to pay the price of this nasty summer with an icy winter.

    Oh No!

Sounds like a lot of fun for the "Tryer"!

I don't know whether to laugh or to :confused3 What a week!

Kyle's interview was just "OK". He said they had 50 applicants for one position and it was pretty clear to him they were looking for someone with some "office" experience which he doesn't have. He will probably join the masses applying all over the Baton Rouge area.

Lauren, like Nancy said it seems like Thomas was just born and to quick for him to start with teeth. How old is he now? How was he with the teething, any issues?

Kathy, keeping Kyle in my prayers. I am sure he will give it his all walking on, I wish him well.

Sheryl, I am not a scallop lover but those look delicious.

WFD- beer can roasted chicken, spanish rice, and peas.

Morning all, it's an amazing day here. The weather is perfect sunny, cool with a nice breeze. I don't do hot, so I'm really enjoying today. I also need to cut the grass so it's perfect. I should probablly tidy up some things in the yard so they don't get blown around this weekend.

Since you ladies are talking about chilly winters- I just ordered the kiddo's winter jacket from LLBean, it is there daily markdown today if any of you are interested. It's the same jacket she had last year, just a size up.

Sheryl- I saw that recipe and thought they looked great, your picture looks just as good as the magazines. I think we'll try it with baby spinach.

Nancy- I've given up trying to predict what the weather will be like, last winter was pretty mild so it almost feels like we're due.

Bethany- It sounds like your school year is already much better than last year, I hope that stays the way. You've earned it.

Vickie- Welcome back. So far everything you've told us your "Na-na" used to say makes perfect sense, besides, it worked out well for the boy. I always think the simple parties are the most fun. Some parents go all out planning something big, and all the kids want to do is have fun running around. Mine just turned 9 in July and it still hasn't set in.

Laura- I hope Liam does well with his allergy tests, I can't imagine a life without eggs.

I'm off to Trader Joe's, I haven't been there since the beginning of July and I need to stock up. I'll find something for dinner there. Have a great day ladies!

Good early morning! I'm trying to get myself in the habit of getting up early! It's not fun, but I do find I have some time to do some recreational reading if I get up even half an hour before the kids do.

We are leaving for my dad's house as soon as Alan gets home from work tonight. Between 7:30 and 8:00 tonight. It will mean a late night of traveling, but hopefully, the kids will sleep some of the way. Tomorrow morning, the theater company is performing a "reading" of a play that my dad has written, called "Nell Gwynn". He's so excited. He's been working on it for years, and this year they are testing it in front of an audience. I am so happy he's found something to help him with the loneliness he's felt since mom died.

Anyway, because of the late night, I'm not sure what we'll have for dinner. I want to have something fast ready so we don't have to stop on our way out of town. So, it will probably either be macaroni and cheese, or soup. I do have some peppers and some olives and pepperoni, so maybe I'll make a fast macaroni and cheese pizza. We'll see.

Have a great day everyone, and I'll see y'all on Saturday.

Morning all! Well the first day of carpool didn't go as planned. Par for the course, I suppose. I went to pick up the 2 boys, 1 of which is in emma's class. Well, the one boy in Emma's class threw a fit and wouldn't get in my car. His mom was all out wrestling with him and couldn't get him in. So, she ended up taking the kids this morning. I felt so bad for her b/c she was not at all prepared to schlep the kids to school. I'll try again tomorrow.

Glynis--hope the travel goes well tonight.

Kathy--sending good vibes for Kyle and his job search if the apt. job doesn't pan out.

Nan--hope you can get to the movie tonight

Lauren--can't believe that Thomas has already cut a tooth! What a big boy!

Bethany--glad to hear that school is going well. A brass band for the kindergarteners! Must've made them feel like royalty!

Okay, well I had promised Matthew that we would go to target after dropping the kids at school. And even though I didn't take anyone to school today, I still am bound by my statement. What is it with kids? They don't forget anything, except to clean rooms, brush hair/teeth, etc.......

Robin, thanks for the LL Bean tip. I just went and spent $115 but I did find a code for free shipping. What deals...I got Emma a snow suit and matching hat, a pair of shoes. I got Luke the daily special wintercoat (in 2 sizes I will return one), and a barn coat. I am so excited I can not wait for the order to arrive now! :cool1: Thanks again.

Weather is perfect today, enjoy it!

This can't be. It was just yesterday that he was born. Wow, they grow so fast. Good luck with the teething.

Good luck to Kyle for the job hunt and also for him walking on. Wow, that is just great. More power to him. I hope he blows them all away.

Would you please share your recipe with me. I haven't ever heard of this until the other day. I would love to try it.

Safe travels my friend. That is just awsome for your Dad. I would love to be at the reading. Please let us know how it goes.

I hope your day gets better. You tried and that's all you can do. I hope Matthew has fun shopping. I love Target!!

Nan ~ I hope you get to go to the movie tonight. Whatever you do I am sure you will have a ball with your girl. Good times.

Bethany ~ What a great way to start the first day of school for the little ones. BTW - Ethan is doing great now. No more tears. I am so glad you are liking your new job, you so deserved it.

Gretchen ~ thinking of you today, my friend

Ann ~ good deals. I love saving money. WooHoo!!!

    Robin ~ :wave2:

Janice ~ I loved the Grands Taco melt idea. I think I will do it your way though. Much easier. Thanks!!

Sheryl ~ I am so glad you got a good report at the Doctors. How are you feeling though? Really?? You do so much that I really wonder how you are doing.

Ok I hope I haven't forgotten someone. If I have please forgive me. Hugs to you all!!

Wow, getting back into the hang of just cooking for two is tough. But I am trying to package all of the leftovers to send back to school with Matthew on the weekend. Because we all know Doug DOESN'T DO leftovers. Heaven forbid!! :confused3

We are getting the best and most huge tomatoes out of the garden. One slice will cover the whole piece of bread. So with that being said. . .

WFDT ~ B (turkey bacon) L T's, macaronni salad with some chips. Doug is going golfing tonight - all by himself :sad1: (well he will have only a 3some) so I am on my own.

Make it a great day my friends.

That looks delicious! I get cooking light and don't remember this recipe. I am going to have to go back and look at it again.

Don't worry about it, just check in when you can. I try and read everything but usually forget half of what I planned to say!

Dinner last night was chicken milanese:

Quick and easy! I have one more piece of the chicken left, and am tentatively planning a salad with it, with more greens, bacon, tomatoes, sweet peppers, etc. for our dinner this evening.

I am not sure how Liam is feeling today, but he must have gotten his new computer because I got my first ever email from him this morning. It is so cute!
