Chapter 16- The Torrential YOLO
July 16th, 2012
We enjoyed our nice boat ride to DHS and laughed about how drenched we were bound to get.
We arrived at DHS and saw another source of IMPENDING DOOM: TOUR GROUPS.
EW. GO AWAY.
We entered the park and I took this somewhat crappy picture:
before I had to put away the electronics to shield them from the rain. It started out slow, but we knew that wouldn't last, so we booked it to a place of refuge and solace: Muppet Vision 3-D.
The key!
Thank God they left it under the mat for us.
I was real excited to be back with my kindred.
I love that shirt! Allie got it for me two Christmases ago.
KERMIE REPPIN'.
We thoroughly enjoyed the show and then walked out under the roof and saw the TORRENTIAL DOWNPOUR. It was hilarious. Everyone was soaked and running/sliding everywhere. I love these Disney downpours. They are just too funny.
Al and I decided to YOLO it (yes it's a verb) to the Muppet gift shop, where we had a HUGE redneck moment and asked for plastic bags to cover our heads. We then ran to the Writer's Stop, where we shared this massive heavenly cookie:
It was SO GOOD OMG. I love those things. We ate the whole thing and YOLO'd all the way over to 50's Prime Time to meet the Units for our dinner ADR!
We were seated almost right away at the same TV table as the Port Report January trip with Jess and Vick! Woohoo!
Just a little wet...
We were brought menus and our waitress, Janice, made Al and I set the table.
We ordered drinks and Timmy ordered an alcoholic beverage. Later on in the meal, when Janice realized how high maintenance Sharon, Al and I can be sometimes (Sharon did not want green beans but got them...Al didn't finish her meal, etc.) she made some comment like: "No wonder Dad needs a drink!" LOL.
I believe I got the smoothie and Al got the milkshake...
Al and I decided to share the onion rings, which were SO GOOD. 50's onion rings are the BEST.
Al got chicken noodle soup and a caesar salad for her meal, which she liked but wasn't able to eat all of.
I helped.
YUM I love their chicken noodle soup.
I ordered the pot roast for my meal. I had tried Mike's in May when he got the sampler and loved it, and it sounded really good tonight. It was so tender, well-seasoned and delish! And I loooove the mashed potatoes there.
Sharon went with the classic fried chicken, which she really enjoyed!
Timmy went the meatloaf route, an excellent choice!
We finished our meals and checked out the dessert menu.
We decided to get Dad's Brownie Sundae to share. That thing is HUGE.
I was only able to eat a few bites. SO FULL.
Al and I noticed that the toaster behind us on a shelf had a LOT of dust accumulating underneath it, so we wrote them a kind note to point it out:
We're so funny.
We paid, thanked Janice and headed out. The sun was starting to attempt a comeback!
This pic is for Theresa (arbolita):
Gertie! I love that she just hangs with the palm trees all day.
Up next- Some singing, dancing, and attempts at golfing!
