Hi all! I'm ALIVE! For those of you who follow me on twitter (@disney_frump), you probably know that I was up until 3 AM editing and organizing and uploading all of the pictures from this trip. I've got a slew of updates for y'all today, and hopefully I'll be able to post a bit more regularly!
And now, on with the updates!
------------------------------------------------
This morning we woke up at 7:30, got ready, ate some toast, and drove to Animal Kingdom! We parked in Unicorn 28 and took the tram to the entrance.
We swam through the tour groups (which seemed to be multiplying by the minute) and went to Expedition Everest to grab some Fastpasses!
Once we got over there, we saw that it was a standby so we grabbed our FP's and jumped in line.
Yes...I believe those photographs are of bears.
We basically walked right on, and Allie and I got the front row! WOOHOO!
My hair is whipping poor Sharon in the face. SORRY!
Al and I are obsessed with those yeti plushes. She got one for Christmas from the Units. PRESH.
Allie bought a Hidden Mickey dress to match one that I had bought in May, so we could wear them to a very special occasion the following day.
That rhymed.
NOT INTENTIONAL.
Anyways, we moseyed our way on over to Kilimanjaro Safaris, taking a couple pics with that lovely Tree of Life on the way.
We barely waited for the safari at all and it turned out to be the best one I've EVER been on! Just y'all wait...
So the title will be explained here. Sharon is an excellent photographer. She whips out her fancy cam and captures moments that I never thought possible. All of the animal pictures you are about to see are hers, including the many giraffe ones. Giraffe spam, more like. This one giraffe actually came within a couple feet of our safari vehicle! All of the animals were just so friendly that morning!
GIRAFFE SPAM:
This next one is one of my favorites. I just imagine this giraffe singing "If I Were a Human" to the tune of Beyonce's "If I Were a Boy" and imagining himself riding in the safari vehicle beyond. It just looks like he's dreaming of what could be or something. It's priceless.
See what I mean?
Well hello there, friendship.
ELLIES!
The endangered white rhino:
Lions:
Ah such a good safari! We even saw where they were building the zebra part of the safari. Sadly, Simba One and that whole part of the ride is gone, but I saw the new zebra section in December, and it was totally worth it! There were so many and they were closer than I thought they'd be.
After the Safari, we split up from the units and Allie and I went to Dinoland and walked on Primeval Whirl!
Turning...
Meanwhile, the Units were exploring the Maharajah Jungle Trek and the nature of Africa.
It's all in the details...
Coming up, Allie and I visit some prehistoric beasts and a tragedy befalls Sharon's shorts! Stay tuned!
